VN24 - 23.11.2020 - Ascheberg / Germany - In a truck accident on the A1 highway at around 11:36 h on Monday noon between the Ascheberg and Hamm-Bockum/Hövel junctions, the drivers of three semi-trucks were injured, some seriously.
According to current knowledge, a 55-year-old truck driver (blue truck) collided with a semitrailer truck of a 32-year-old driver loaded with paper at the end of a traffic jam at a construction site. As a result of the collision, this truck was pushed slightly onto another truck driven by a 36-year-old Portuguese man. In the collision, the blue truck was deflected to the right. The loading platform of his front vehicle tore open and partially drilled through between the driver's cab and the engine. The truck then overtook the vehicle in front of it on the hard shoulder and then crashed into the side of the cab of a third truck before coming to a halt.
There was considerable damage to the vehicles. The direction of Dortmund was fully closed from the Ascheberg junction until around 4:00 p.m. for the duration of the traffic accident investigation. The right lane remained closed into the night until the truck of the accident causer was recovered.
