Thank you for your kind feedback. There is so much, we can learn from people like Chris. By the way - if you like to dive deeper, I can really recommend his book.
should I vacuum green coffee? It would remove the oxygen and even some moisture. I'm only afraid of evaporating some volatile aromatic compounds. However, it's done with roasted coffee so I think it's ok and the beans will last for years
I come from East Africa and I grew up in the coffee plantations. My parents do grow coffee in large farms and I would like to be able to connect with someone to help sell the coffee from the local farmers
Hi Jane. If you ever manage to attend a trade show that are usually great places to connect with roasteries. Many countries are represented by trade / coffee unions that organise public cuppincs (e.g. world of coffee or coffee expo). Otherwise you can always directly contact traders and roasteries. It's quite common to be contacted by farmers. Shipping samples can be a bit costly if you live in East Africa but if you have somebody in Europe or the US that can ship samples within the EU or US, than this is quite a cheap and simple option to get in touch with potential clients. There are as well Facebook groups to connect farmers and roasteries. I also love services like Algrano. Although you would need to check if they cover your country already. Good luck!
Yeah....walking around the forest of Ecuador with five grand in your pocket....and questioning everyone you see with: "do you know where I can buy some green?"
