Excellent book called " Bury my heart at wounded knee " I love our country even with all it's rights and wrongs but the book is a heartbreaker in regards to what our government did to the indigenous peoples.

Big John, this video is about as epic as they come! Isn’t it amazing when we get out across this land to see it all, how much beauty there is as far as the eye can see. I haven’t been thru Kansas in years, but I remember Topeka, Hutchison, Hays and so many others, the wind can really blow. But the cornfields, the oil rigs, just so much to see. The little towns to find a diner, grab some grub, and visit with locals, is so genuine. That’s all I want, to have one badass bike, and ride this beautiful country the rest of my life.

Absolutely amazing video with awesome drone footage w/close ups of the Badlands. Interesting how the land there formed; does indeed look like the surface of another planet. Historical information about Wounded Knee and other Indian culture, facts was very enlightenment to say the least. And of course, that 20 ounce Ribeye steak...needless to say. Thanks for making, sharing this video and all the others covering Sturgis 2022! Tom M., Combat Vet. (Ret.). '21RGS stock bore/stroke 114 (S&S 465c Cam Chest; S&S 2-1; FM3956 AC; Dynojet PV3B). Currently waiting on my Carillo Pistons (forged 10.75:1, 4.125" bore) building a 120" (4.125" bore x 4.500" stroke) for now.

I’ve lived in Kansas my whole life. I grew up in the last town on I-70 before Colorado and now live in Wichita. I haven’t looked at Kansas and said “Wow that’s gorgeous” in many years. I’ve always been so envious of states that have trees and water but this video put into perspective how beautiful it really is out here. Great video.

I went thru Ogallala, NE and found a restaurant called “The Driftwood”. Of course I HAD TO HAVE the “Lonesome Dove Burger” LOL *I also worked at Antelope Coal Mine and drove the world’s biggest trucks! Nice catch pointing out the coal train!!

There is a Badlands National Park, I went there. Lincoln was assassinated 25 years before Wounded Knee. He wasn't giving out any medals in 1890. Otherwise, a really awesome video.

Hey John, met you at Dave’s couple years ago for his one and only bikes and breakfast. Was a fellow Road Glider. Absolutely the best video you’ve done. Glad you finally got off the East Coast for an adventure. Drone footage spectacular. Wife has the big C so we did a bucket trip to Rapid City last year in our SUV. 2weeks after the rally but did the whole smear without the crowds. We took the northern route through Iowa so it was nice to see you guys did a different option. Keep the videos coming and thanks for the memories!

So the Lakota hate Lincoln? Wounded knee happened in 1890. Decades after Lincoln was assassinated. I served with Lakota in the USMC and I didn’t get that vibe that they hated all that. I saw dudes who were my brothers in arms.

Great video, you captured the Badlands to a T. Love riding the Grasslands Highway (44) back to Rapid. I go to the same Longhorn my first night in Rapid also. We were just around the corner from you at the Country Inn. Wish we would have known you were just across the street. One question, why the 3/4 helmet? Would the Shoei have been too hot?

So your seeing the real Midwest. Sooo much different from east coast, where it’s not so vast. To bad you didn’t go a little more west in Colorado if you wanted to see a dramatic terrain change. But you and me see Kansas so different. It’s nothing but grass and corn fields, so it’s boring to me. And eastern Colorado isn’t much different, just a little more desert looking with the wash out gullies. Hell of a ride brother, love watching. History lesson you don’t learn in mainstream public schools is a eye opener, right? Your seeing and hearing the other side of the story. Remember history is written by the winners of wars. Indian culture and riding across the country. It’s all about the freedom, nature and beauty. Glad you got to experience the Midwest. Peace brother ✌🏼
