Granny Pat, you and your family have such an interesting history. All the wonderful stories of your lives, handed down to you, and now you're sharing them with us. I think that might have been one of your mother's greatest gifts to you--teaching you about your roots. These two videos devoted to your mother's memory have blessed me. Thank you so much!

Every story you told about your mama and your childhood I could visualize it as though I was watching a movie. I’m 76 years old, my mom was from a family of 9 and so many stories you spoke of sounded like stories I would hear as a little girl listening to my mother’s 7 sisters remembering their days as youngsters. You are a wonderful story teller and I loved hearing all about your beautiful mama. And you even brought my mama back to me while I listened to you weave your precious memories. Thank you Pat 💘💕😢
This story and your loving telling of it is a treasure for those of us who have yet to live through so much history, or who are not as lucky as you were to have such a large and close family. I thank you from my heart for your sharing of your family with those of us who weren't as blessed. 💞
You certainly had wonderful parents. I have a feeling your mom made you into the wonderful human you are today. Keep these stories coming. They are so interesting.
Hi Granny Pat. Thank you for sharing part of your dear Mother with us. The milk pitcher and quilt are both treasures for you and a reminder of how life was long ago. Beautiful video. Hugs. Nancy from IN. ❤
Your stories and Family history are so much like many of our early lives. A strong Family is a Gift and a Blessing to all that are and were fortunate to remember. A switch never hurt any of us Pat taught respect which is gone today. Thank You A hard life well lived♥️
Your love for your mama is something beautiful. Makes me appreciate my mother even more. If only she knew how much she is still be talked about. I bet she'd love your channel.
$7 for all that work! Boy, times HAVE changed. 😐 A baby pretty enough to win a contest... A lady STILL pretty. 🥰 Again, thank you for sharing your mama with us.
I put your channel on each night before bed. I love listening to your stories. I've laughed and cried. I'm 47 and we have one daughter 16 years old. I feel like time just flew by. I miss when she was little. I've been so sad lately and I don't know why really. Thank you for being there with Kindness and encouragement. You remind me so much of my grandma who I lost in 2000. She was the rock of our family. My mom and dad are my rocks now and I'm always so afraid of losing them. I'm sorry for going on so much, have a happy Valentines day. 💝
Thank you for the heartwarming hour, enjoyed hearing about your Mom and Dad and all they went through to survive and keep the family cared for and kept the faith.🙏👍💞
Thank you so much for sharing! It brings up so many beautiful stories about my own mama. I'm getting awfully used to getting a bedtime story to go to sleep with that night, I don't know what I'll do if I miss the night LOL thank you Pat!!
What a fast hour went by telling about your Mother and family. I so enjoyed hearing about your Mother. ❤ Your hair looks so great and you did it before our eyes. 💐
I could listen to you for hours. You are wonderful. I have natural curly hair little longer than yours can you remember this my mother died in 98 at 75 and rolled her beautiful hair with Bobby pins until her death it was shoulder length well those curlers you use are the ones I tried but they pull my hair so I use Bobby pins. They are not as well made as they used to be. They are hard to open and to slide on your curl.a southner but 5 years in Phoenix.
Hiya Gran Pat 🎉🎉 Love the curlers!! I remember watching you curl em episode 😊 Thanks for sharing!! I love the meatloaf moment 🤣🤣 I can promise you that your life recollection of memory moments would make a WONDERFUL MOVIE 🍿🎥 Thanks for sharing ✌️🇺🇸🙏💛
I enjoyed hearing, as Paul Harvey would say, the rest of the story. So sorry your brother pilot in Air Force was killed. Your mom was a strong woman as was your dad and made for you all a life of adventure, love and great memories.
Your curlers brought back such a wonderful memory for me. I used to wash, cut and roll my mom's hair for her, it was so much fun, and your curlers were exactly like hers. Thank you for the stories of your Mom, and for helping me remember my Mama. xoxoxox
Hi Granny Pat! I so enjoyed hearing about your beloved mom. My Granny was from East Bernstadt, Ky and that's where my mom was born. You remind me so much of my Granny Sims. Thank you for sharing. ❤
Enjoying your post Pat. Appreciate the discussions of the hard times. I was born in 1962 and grew up in a hollow in Linefork, KY. I remember life becoming better in this area in the late 70s. People have so much nowadays.
Thank you and when you said the rich were in the soup line with the poor, well we are in this soup bowel together and we are actually the same, some have money and some do not but we all still have emotions and feelings. Hugs From Atlanta.
Love the beautiful quilt! It looks like it’s in great condition! The milk container…wow…they don’t make them like that anymore. Thanks for yet another trip down memory lane. I laughed out loud when your Mother said not to give out the recipe for your meatloaf. 🤣😂🤣 Wasn’t expecting that comment. Have a nice evening Granny Pat…I enjoyed the Chit Chat. Hugs!!! 🙋🏻♀️🌹❤️
How I have enjoyed this episode! Hearing these stories reminds me so much of my mom’s family, my precious grandmother Gladys was born in 1906. I’m thinking she was about same generation of your mama. I enjoyed this so very much. Thank you for taking the time. It’s been wonderful.
@@RevPev13 RevPev, are you a minister? My mother was just Mama to me growing up. I didn’t appreciate her until I started catching up to her in age, and then I remembered lots of the stories she used to tell. My sisters keep saying they don’t understand how I remember so many things we did growing up. I wish I could remember the good stories.
These were really great stories! Back in 1942, November, my momma was born in Tennessee. My grandfather was in the Air Force then. Our families may have crossed paths ☺️ My grandfather was stationed at Area 51 the yr before the crash. I believe they were either in Nevada or California right after. You know how much they moved around from base to base. At one point he was stationed in England and the family was in Tennessee through that. They settled in Los Angeles. Moving around was ingrained into the DNA of my family, for better or worse. It's just fun to think how they were around the same area roughly the same time. They (all) were strong stock back then. They had to be. So many horrible times. If we are smart, we learn from them. Just as you are our storyteller now ☺️♥️
Miss pat your stories warm my ❤️ my mother always told me and my sister stories from her life, and your stories remind me so much of the stories she shared with me and my sister.Mom has long since passed and I'm so very grateful for all the stories 💖 now I'm the one growing old and telling stories. God bless.
Hello granny I remember my mother always use pieces of cloth for rollers it made me think of it you taking you rollers out you sutch a wounderful lady we love you granny so much ❤😊
Watching from a beautiful snowy night in upstate New York and just finished your first book and so enjoyed it. I love that I can listen to your stories of times gone by and while waiting for your next video, can just pick up one your books (I have two). I remember reading about this and love hearing you tell it just as much as these old eyes are tired from reading. What an absolutely beautiful quilt, such a treasured piece❤
I enjoyed your stories of your Mama and Daddy. It reminds me of my Grandma and my parent's stories. My Grandma was born in 1918. She lost a 16 yr old daughter to cancer and her husband 2 yrs later also to cancer. She was one of 7 girls and had 1 brother. My Mom was one of 11 kids and her Mama raised a grand-daughter, so 12 total. My Mom's Dad died when my Mom was only 5 yrs old. Her Mom never remarried fearing someone may mistreat her kids. They lived in Georgia and Alabama. Very similar stories as you have shared. They spoke a lot about working a farm and picking cotton. My Mom was born in 1936. My Dad in 1934. Thank you for sharing your stories. I love the portrait of your Mom. She was beautiful! God Bless❤
now we know why your house shines and your wonderful cooking skill you were a gift from god for your family and you watch out for jen your daughter your one sweetheart thank you for your video you make these hard times better for us a ray of sunshine on a dark day thank you blessed sweet lady
Oh my, this was an amazing story, coming from a wonderful storyteller! Yes, you are amazing when it comes to giving descriptions and knowing exactly when to give the main idea! This story seemed to last only minutes! Now I know I will be listening to you tell it again! I was teary eyed at times as you told us this story and I can relate to things you told. I was born in Lexington, yet a year after finishing college, I moved to a state just north of there. I still love going back for visits in my home state!
Quilt and pitcher very beautiful ❤️😍. And yes you are very sweet 🧁🎂 . Being a strict parent is a touch of Love 💕😘 Keeping you safe . Learning what they taught you.Thats so much Love!
Awwww, so beautiful. When you told the story of your Mother's 100th birthday party I had tears in my eyes. Oh and the story about the meatloaf. I laughed so hard. When I hear your stories about the Depression it makes me realize that I have no idea of the things that people have been through. I need to count my blessings. Thank you so much for making my day with your beautiful story. You fill my days with happiness. Love you my friend. From Shirley in Hanover PA.
I watched the entire video and loved every minute! Especially hearing about the rationing during the war, my mother told me about that era. Thank you for this and all your other wonderful stories.
Such a heart felt story. Families did what had to be done back then, even moving your family miles from home. Your mother was so stong, having to go thru her health issues, even today that is not any easy situation to handle. I know all of u are so glad that u could take care of her. She raised strong, caring children. Oh yes, the secret of Oak Ridge, a mute word in my house at that time.
