This is my second attempt speeding up my tractor supply county line log splitter. The first video received a lot of viewer concerns that I would damage my splitter the way I had it modified. This modification does not allow the splitter to have pressure or pivot points that could damage the log splitter.

Great job. I revamped my splitter last winter. I replaced my standard control with an auto cycle and replaced the 30" cylinder with an 18" and it had a 2" rod. All I split is 16" rounds and these changes cut my cycle time in half. Again your fix for your splitter is spot on.

Nice work! Seems to work perfectly and was so simple to make. I made a similar kick out for my Champion log splitter but my handle is mounted up high and so my design was a bit more complicated. Such a time saver not having to wait on the ram to travel those extra inches every time. I also added a couple inches to the top of the splitting wedge which seems to help. One other thing i did was to add some "ramps" to the shoe of the wedge to help lift the smaller logs up and out of the channel so they would not get bound up as they split.

Really great video thanks.. My problem on this home built log splitter that I've been using is the that whoever builtnit didn't look into options to make it faster. The Hydraulic Control Valve in spring actuated so you have to hold the handle forward and reverse when operating it. It make for very slow splitting. I've thought about changing the control valve to a detent but for a good control valve they run 400 or more. Also, this splitter is heavy and awkward to use in the vertical position because of the weight of the rail. Almost takes too people to raise it. I think I'm just going to look for another splitter that's fasr with a detent valve..

That would include everything you made: spring, privet-rebar with pipe, total screw rod assembled parts, etc. If you would do this I’d pay you for the package, shipping, and for your time. I just do not have the equipment to do this. If you would do so, all I’d have to do is find the spot where to have a welder weld the rebar swivel part and then I can drop the rest in place after drilling a hole to put the spring retention screw onto my splitter. Please take time to consider my request. Thank you so very much, hope to hear back soon. Best wishes, Michael
