#24 Big Church, Best Church? |

I love the diversity of our church, we have all kinds of people, black, white, Asian, poor, well off, young, old (er), suited, tattooed, Republicans, Democrats, single, married, divorced, etc.

you are adorable! i don't care if a church has one person in it....if you are reaching that one person you are making the world a better place. I speak all over and I don't care if i speak to a thousand or to one...God will be glorified and seeds will be planted ;) love you sister!

I'm back at my home church after a lot of moving around. We have around twenty members, and a lot of people are deterred by the little number. But I couldn't be happier here! Every Sunday morning, the message always moves someone in the family! "Where two or more are gathered, there I am also." (Paraphrasing.. heh..) I love my church because of the family bond we have! I love the praise and worship, and I love that we always try to involve the youth (including myself) in dramas as often as we can. (We're actually practicing for a drama for Easter Sunday. I'm so nervous because I have major stage fright - says the aspiring singer.) I just love my church in general! Wow! That was long.

By the way Jamie Grace, your such an inspiration. I am blessed to have a sister in Christ like you.😘

As a child I grew up in church and have seen, heard, and worshipped the Lord Jesus in many settings. The thing I LOVE must is when a Christian chooses not to judge but to draw a nonbeliever to know about King JESUS !!!!

we are a church where sometimes there are maybe 25 of us in attendance, and sometimes there are only 5 of us in attendance. Yet, God has used our ministry to stamp a HUGE footprint in the Charlotte NC community. And by footprint, I do not mean FAME or notoriety for our church. I mean salvation, life-changes, empowerment of individuals over their strongholds and struggles, and larger vision for the youth in the community. I choose this over numbers any day of the week.

I love my church because we base everything on the Bible, people are personable, friendly and you'll always get a hug, and my pastor and his family are amazing....

My favorite thing about my church is how loving and welcoming they are...I moved all the way from Jamaica, found their church online and went there one Sunday. And then after a few months I realized how much God truly changed my entire life. He made all the pieces fit together. He answered my prayers of finding a church where I could be apart of a youth group and be involved.

What I love most about my church is how much the people care and love one another. They walk with you through the hard times, and the good times, loving you and encouraging you every step of the way. It's so beautiful, and I'm so blessed to be able to be apart of something so wonderful like that. 😄

I love that my church is all about WE greater than ME. I grew up in a smaller church but the family atmosphere played a huge role in my walk with Christ, and why even when I strayed I had people I knew would lift me up in prayer, and do life with me. The church I currently is new so it's small, but already I feel supported in my small group and just by the family atmosphere that they're creating by genuinely wanting us all to be there for each other. I attended big churches occasionally but I never want to get to a place where I focus on the numbers at a church instead of their message, and the beliefs that they stand on.

My favorite part about my church would probably be the humility in our leadership. We are every day people who work with the community, each other, and other churches without being unduly judgmental or self-righteous. There's no attitude of "only we have the whole truth about God" and while we carefully maintain a true and Biblical doctrine, I love the genuine inclusiveness we have. And that is due to the humility of our leadership. :) Having grown up in a church that was very much the opposite, this has been such a beautiful learning experience for my adult life.

The favorite thing about my Church is I get to sing and Worship the Holy Spirit in that is were it all began for me...And the main Attraction is GOD! LOVE YOU ALL!

My favorite thing about my church is my youth group

My church has recently been blessed by the presence of a new Priest. He is from Africa and his sermons are very unique to what I'm used to with my church. I love the fresh take he brings to the mass. He makes the mass more interactive, having everyone greet each other, speak louder, communicate more. He spreads his love for Jesus in a unique way that everyone in church loves. Oh and the best part is that he sings native African Christian songs sometimes. I love it.

you're blessed to have been saved at a young age. I love your testimony.I lived threw a lot of dark years before I stopped running from Jesus. life with Jesus is so much better than without him. My church had 90 people last week that's a lot for us. I love my small church but I'm excited because we are a growing church. God bless.

I like that my church has drive to reach people and be relevant. One of their goals is to "help people far from God reach their full potential in Jesus-Christ". My family and I started going their last Christmas and we've all loved it!

So true. People think that a huge church is better than a small church with Christ followers.

I love that God's Spirit truly leads our leaders and services. I am a worship leader at my church and the freedom that my pastors allow me to have to say what God speaks to me during worship is incredible. I just love everything about my church. Mine is a smaller church as well and it is great to see the hearts of the people growing and in turn our attendance is too!

The one thing I love about my church is that they are my family. I have been to several churches, but never before have I found one that is so closely knit. everyone knows everyone and we all care about each other. This church is where I have met my closest friends that I believe I will know for the rest of my life. Words cannot describe how amazing this church has been and still is.

This makes me so happy! I love how you said "our job is to fill Heaven, not the church". This year I've been stepping into worship leading a lot more and this idea of a "big church" has challenged me a little. I feel so so passionate about when you said "it's not my job to be number one, because that place is already taken" (or along those lines). I watch other leaders in and out of my church, and it's not always easy to see where their true heart lies. I love the fact that when you speak about what you're passionate about, your heart literally shines through you and all over your face (and no it's not just the highlighter). That is so inspiring! I totally agree that God is in the big and he is in the small. Sometimes I see other people being caught up in the presentation of a worship/church service, and forgetting to stop and think about why we are here. It's so easy to become distracted with things that in the end, don't matter. That being said I absolutely love my church and what God is currently doing. The thing I most love is that our pastor does such a good job. It is so obvious that he so seeks after God and when he is preparing his messages, he not only uses the bible (which is a great thing for a pastor to do) but he looks at the actual Hebrew/Greek language that was originally used and looks at what is being said in it's original context. I did a unit at University all about the context of the bible and it seriously blew my mind and I see the crazy importance of knowing what it meant at the time it was written. ALSO, I LOVE OUR YOUTH TEAM. I have been on the youth team for nearly 2 years and it has been the most fun experience of my life. We are just a big family and we gather in love. There is so much joy and love for everyone in our team and I know that I am part of something super special. Our youth band is also a bunch of fun. We have youth leaders and youth kids on it and it is so great to learn from such an awesome group of people who all have a heart for the same thing - leading people in the passionate pursuit of Jesus. Love what you do. Thank you for your honesty, joy and love.

I love the people in my church. They are the sweetest, most accepting and loving people I know. Because of the people being so sensitive to the leading of God, there is this unique peace and joy that exists when you walk into the sanctuary no matter what day of the year it is. It doesn't matter if it's Easter morning or if something earth-shattering just happened in our city, everyone is smiling because of the joy of the Lord. This video really encouraged me. I love that at my church we are able to encourage each other to not give up in following Jesus and I also love that we get to sing to him and share the same joy that comes from the same (and only) God. God bless!

We love to reach out to our youth like during Vacation Bible School teaching classes as well as giving them tools to take home and learn about the Lord as well. Be A Girl Like Me! is our non profit but also our way of ministering to as many people as we can. We use this platform to help other groups and anyone that needs a helping hand around the community and by handing out Christian books. I used both the church and this organization to say that both do not have large numbers. We work very hard with both and it is not easy but just like you said it's about reaching the hearts in the Kingdom. When I think of that, I will work til my last day on earth to ensure that more people will know Jesus, have hope, and will be encouraged through His love. Thank you Jamie! Definitely know what It's like to go to a small church.. I'm a pk and are church is very small but that don't mean the Holy Ghost don't show up! I seen God move in mighty ways. I'm very blessed to be able to help lead worship for the few of us.. 😆

I love the worship time in my church. You can really feel the presence of God and all the kids go up to the front by the stage and sing the songs straight from their heart. It is just such a blessing to see that, to be apart of that, and to feel that presence. I thank God that I get to be in a church like that and that I have the opportunity to be used by Him to change other people's lives. I pray that you all go to a church where every Sunday or Wednesday or whatever day it is that you feel that blessing and thank God for it too. God bless😘

This video was so encouraging! My pastor just started the church I now go to a couple months ago and I'm a worship leader there and it is rather small at the moment. I love getting to sing and play instrument at my church but sometimes when you're starting a new church you think when are all of these things going to happen and when is it going to grow. You and your family and 100% right. It's not the size of the church, it's the size of the heart. ❤️

There are many things I love about my small churches. I'm currently in uni so I flip between 2 churches with the same doctrine, one is slightly bigger then the other. I love my church because the young women have really bonded together over the fact that we are all going to school, we meet once a week and do prayer meetings and bible studies. This has been a real encouragement to me, being a new christian, im learning a lot from my girls here and really enjoying the fellowship that we have.

Jamie you are blessed. There are people that aren't as blessed as you that don't have a good Christian home. Living and abiding in the word fully and just having that good spiritual support from family and a church even that doesn't sugar coat the word. So you are blessed and that is a great testimony that you're father brought you to Christ at a young age.

The favorite thing I like about my church is WORD TIME!!! and our motto, just love it.

What I love about my church is the fellowship with all of the other members and that I have a special connections with them like one was my teacher and the other was my principal.

I love my church because of the worship and the people their. It's a very very small church but I love it so much! I'm not old enough to lead worship but my dad does and I really want to. The people in my church all know each other unless it's their first time there. I LOVE IT! Everyone there is super kind and I just love it!

I have a very similar story! I was also raised in a Christian home, though my parents were not pastors... Anyways, what do I love about my church? The worship is one of my favorite things. Always can walk in feeling the presence of the holy spirit. Just love it❤️

i remember when I was little i went to church and i loved it! we always had little fun activities to do about Jesus, and sometimes we sang and danced to Christian music. And it was so cool because our pastor and his wife came and pick us up from our house and drove us to church, also they had a ping pong table upstairs we played before our parents pick us up from church. Those were some good oh times, but than the pastor and his wife moved away to a different country.

My dad is a pastor, I lead worship (I'm only fifteen), and my church is small, and I love it because everyone is full of love. It is almost as if we all were blood relatives. Everyone is either my grandparent, brother, or sister.

I love how our church has tables that each family sits around one to get used to the family worship and there is no Sunday school so that we are all together as a family, I am so blessed to have so many friends there and some of the families have 10 to 11 kids. It's so cool.

My favorite thing of the church I attend is the love that is shown towards everyone. I can come to a Sunday Service sometimes and just be down but as I start to sing along with God's people and their love for God my heart lifted and the wait is gone and I can Worship and do I was called to do freely. I love how family-like my church is. We really are a church family and I will always know when things get tough that they've got my back. I also love how welcoming my church is. We're made up of such an eclectic group of people but our differences don't matter because we love God and love each other.

I love my church because even though it's rather large, there is a tight knit community. The older generation also really invests in the lives of the younger members! But most importantly the gospel is preached every week.

My favourite thing about church is the times during worship when you can feel that everyone in the congregation is in sync, just singing and praising God together. It's beautiful :)

My church is not massive , yet my absolute favorite thing about my church is how we flow. I'm part of the worship team and every time we're praising and worshipping before the sermon, it doesn't matter what is planned to sing or the amount of time that we are "supposed" to sing, a breakout of the spirit just consumes the sanctuary. And what still amazes me is how it's a whole new experience every time! One night it can be that the whole church breaks out in intercession and we are all consumed by the spirit, another night it'll be that such a joy takes over and we dance like crazyyy for God. So it's just such an inspiration for me that I want to be a Christian artist and teaches me that in everything I need to flow with His spirit. And I love hearing everyone else's experiences from their churches! Gives me the feels lol

My story is small too and isn't as big as some others but I know that God's word touched my heart through my church and it's the best church I've been to in a while. I'm just a regular girl and I love that my church likes to connect with us and give us hope. I know that there are people who have my back and go through what I go through in this church. They have life Groups where we connect with other kids our age and we do little parties and go on trips. Once we all went ice skating! My church is the best and greatest commitment I have!

My church is on a college campus. We are home missionaries. We are small but powerful. I love my church!

Oh and one more thing! lol I love my church because they've truly created an atmosphere where ALL can serve if they wish to, instead of creating an atmosphere where it feels like you have to be in a certain position, or have attended for years, to be seen worthy of serving others.

At my church, I feel at home,i feel like I belong to a bigger family than I could ever imagine. I don't just feel that at every churcg I go to. But God had blessed me so much to have such an amazing a faith filled fellowship. 😁

We stopped going to church a little while back, but we have an amazing group of Christian friends who we are learning and growing with and we usually get together at least once a week and just spend time together, sometimes do Bible study, sometimes just talk about what God is doing in our lives and I love having it be so small and personal like that. At the beginning of last year I was shy and being introduced to this new group of kids was hard but now those girls have become like sisters and we just love spending time together.

Love this. Growing up I would always look forward to this "life changing" conference every January to get my "Christian life" back on track because I only allowed myself to be open to Him moving when I was around bigger crowds and it was in my face. So thankful now that I have an actual relationship where I know I can see Him in the everyday,quiet moments as well. My fave thing about my church is how my pastor is so real with her love for Jesus... Constantly reminding me that this whole Christian thing isn't just so we can be "good people" or whatever, but that our savior DIED FOR US and wants TO LIVE WITH US FOR ETERNITY! Like whaaaat!? Sometimes I need to remind myself that I'm serving a real God, who really loves me, and that doing life with Him is exciting and an adventure, every single day! #partyyyyyyy

I know what it's like to have the calm, quiet story. My dad is my youth pastor. But our church has those people that only come for the holiday services and those that are here every week, like clockwork. With your occasional in-betweens. HAPPY EASTER! 🐰

I absolutely love my church! I love everything about it. I currently serve as part of the youth directory as well as part of the worship team (guitarist). I love our youth group Juventud Sin Limite (JSL) most of us have grown up together and its seriously my second home/family with all the time I spend there. Church to me is so important for a Christian because we all need a community of people to help us when we begin to slip in our faith or feel discouraged

Thank you so much for sharing! You are so right, size does not matter! God calls us to tell everyone around us about Jesus! I help at after school program once a week called "Good News Club", where we play games and teach elementary kids about Jesus! At one point we only had 8 kids coming on average to a club but we have an average of 20 kids each week. God will grow I learned as He leads. I realized that when we just had 8 or 9 kids a week, that we needed that more one on one time with them! Now at the other club we have 50 kids. So let's just say, thank God for prayer and Him being the one to work in there hearts... Well for reals my church hasn't always been a building I meet in on Sunday or even a school I meet in on Sunday for church. As my family has jumped church and I have even been rejected and made fun of at a church before. So sometimes for me, my Church has been my Home School acapella chior and worship team having devo or worship time together where I feel I really learn and just give God all my worship through music!

I don't have a big story to tell either. But my dad and I sing and play at church often, and I love doing it. I also run the audio/video at my church. I am blessed that God gave me those talents!

On the question of how big is your church, I might would ask someone that if I found out they were the worship leader, because it would seem so amazing that they could get in front of people and fellowship with God like they alone.

Wow. Thank you so much Jamie. My dad has been a pastor all my life. And from this, I've moved a couple times. My first move wasn't the hardest thing, but this past year I moved again. My dad was called where we are to be an associational missionary, meaning he ministers to the pastors in our association. This has been hard for me because I haven't really had one church that I can call mine (like I've been able to in the past). I know God has me here for a reason but it's been tough. I love to watch your videos and I think it's awesome because we have so much in common. This video in particular has especially encouraged me with what I've been going through and I just wanted to thank you. So thank you very much, sister in Christ!

My grandpa is my pastor and my uncles are pastors and we have a small Christian school where my uncle is the principal and my dad is the high school teacher and my testimony is very similar to yours! My favorite thing about my church is working with the kids. I love working VBS and the nursery once a month.

It was like you had taken the words right out of my mouth! Obviously you know your not the only one, but sometimes in the middle of it. You keep thinking you are the only one. As well as a challenge to my heart and such a big blessing. How can I pray for you this week Jamie? My church isn't huge. But it isn't really small either. I love my Independent Baptist church. Even though some things I'm not in total agreement about I know I'm where God wants me. I think my favorite part about my church is the people. The people who strive to serve God with all their hearts, and are always there for encouragement when needed.

my church runs around 60 a week and my youth group has 4 and one is going off to college soon (*tear*) and I love how we know each other and we still do amazing things even though we're small

I love the house of my church. I've been going there since I was a child wondering what it would be like to stand on that stage as a worshipper or preacher, and now that time has come, and I can see above the seats and look at the arch of the roof from a different perspective, it feels as though it's a special place God and I share and only He knows just how much that house means to me. :) Love you Jamie! And I want to you know that I feel the same way - wondering just yesterday actually why I don't have a grand testimony. This was great :) been feeling angry with God recently as I've moved to uni and am now part of a huge church, but my mum is still back home struggling along sat on the pews with a congregation of less than 10, and it doesn't seem fair! Also, my testimony is pretty much in line with yours! 'Trying to fill heaven, not church' and 'How many people are there or how big is the heart?' are really great things to remember- thanks JG, keep going :)x

I'm 12 I've moved a lot because of family problems but I found the perfect church for me I get my aunt to bring me to and from to church every Sunday and Wednesday I just want to say I'm a dancer at a Christian studio and for my first solo my song was do life big and my friends was little ol me and it was the best year of my life I love you soo much ur so inspiring 😄😄😘😘😘

My favorite thing about my church is small group. Sunday school is great, but it feels very impersonal. Learning about the Bible is amazing, but in the small group setting I feel like there is more application.

My church's high school youth group is going on a mission trip this summer to the Dominican Republic (I'm middle school) but they are going there to help out our missionaries already living down there and I can't wait to see how the expirience will help them!
