This song popped up on a playlist while I'm reading about (spoiler?) other-dimension Calliope telling stories to Jade. It feels so perfectly fitting -- this would be a hella ideal theme for that version of Calliope.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2 : Explorers of Time, Darkness and Sky A great game with lots of time travel and sad songs and great characters. A great game by any means.
The beeping rhythm in the beginning makes me think of a little kid who's on their deathbed in a hospital hallucinating awesome starry stuff before they die and leave the earth.
Funny thing is, Toby Fox actually produced some music for Sun & Moon (the Switch ver) several months ago. I'm not sure if you'll see this reply, because you made your comment 7 years ago, but I just thought I'd tell you.
PMD stands for Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. The first and second games of this series (never played the third) were unique Pokémon games in that instead of going around as a trainer, you played as a Pokémon inhabiting a world with no humans, going through "dungeons" with a completely different exploration and combat system than in regular Pokémon games. These games, particularly the second one, had a lot of heart and story to them, and the second game in particular has some of the best music of any video game I've ever played, despite its simplicity and the DS' limited sound capabilities. I don't quite see how this theme goes with PMD themes, but I would have loved to hear this in the soundtrack. Hidden Land (one of the levels) especially had a great theme, perhaps the most soothing theme I've ever heard from a video game. There are some others from other games I haven't played that mean a lot more on a personal level, but Hidden Land is something I can listen to for hours. Check out the soundtrack to Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky. You won't regret it!
