Yes, there are almost no tourists at Railey, Phra Nang beach at the moment because of the current situation. But beware, under normal circumstances, same like Phi Pi island, and the like, this beach would be flooded by tourists, speedboats and long tail boats and I doubt it would be a joyful experience to be there. Gladly I made it to Phra Nang beach way before it was discovered by mass tourism, about 35 years back in time. I am so thankful I could experience Thailand at that time. Well done vid, Patty. It brings back some lovely memories of those great times.
Agreed. I was there in 2014 and it wasn't great. Way too many people everywhere to really be able to soak in the beauty of it all. I'm actually in Koh Lanta now and was in Ao Nang a few days ago. Skipped Railay and went to some other beaches and sites in the Krabi area. All gorgeous, and not that many tourists of course.
It's the wonderful part of travelling, meeting up with people who are relaxed enough to share their experiences. People who wouldn't normally give you the time of day back in the suburbs. Bit like a passport to the University of Life!
Railay is such a chill beach. I am so glad I went there. Only accessible by boat keeps it under control so its not some wild party place. Tons of food options and lots of fun stuff to do, lots of nice boat trips from that area. Its one of the best trips I have ever taken.
The memories, not to mention footage you are getting on this trip (so far) is something else, considering the normal, tourist thronged, state of many of the sites you have visited. Awesome. So cool to see.
I stayed in Sand and sea resort like your friends. I was there at Christmas. Goldie - the actor/rapper came in from this massive yacht and bought about 20 takeaway dinners! Being an old bastard I was the only person who recognised him.
Also deep water solo climbing is awesome in that area! Those islands around Chicken & Poda are great. Probably not happening now due to Covid... but yeah you could climb up 40 ft and jump off into the ocean.
What a nice little peace of relaxation part of Thailand buddy, and the shortcut was a great find 💪 The LED light boot thingy was realy cool Paddy 👊 Thanks for sharing and see you in the next one 👊
I watched this vlog and cannot get over the stunning topography. It doesn't seem real! This is what comes to my mind when I think of Thailand. Are you gonna check out James Bond Island? Top vlog Paddy. Amazing camera work and commentary!
As always, awesome content! You have inspired us to book a flight to Southern Thailand 💘💞✈️🌅🏞️🏝️🗺️ Thank you for sharing! Stay safe! From, North Carolina, USA
I subscribed to the channel in the first 1.03 minute after seeing the small Honda bike with the Thai flag. I told myself that this is gonna be good for sure.
I love Railay Bay, I stay where your friends stayed in a villa with the private courtyard and jacuzzi, the beds are so hard, but I love the privacy and being able to paddle in the jacuzzi starkes and no one needs to see that haha. Loved the clear plastic kayaks with the Led"s so beautiful with the sunset.
Some stuff still hasn't returned since COVID, Phra Nang is busier now but Phra Nang side is still closed to boats. At least that allows me to make a little bit of cash selling some beers to the day trippers.
I'm in Suphan Buri and I would love to be down south as well, but my wife is very frightened of the on going situation. You are living the dream...stay safe... By the way if you come through Suphan Buri we would love to show you around. My wife is from Suphan and knows it very well.
This is the one I was most looking forward to the most -- great vid Paddy Railay is almost unrecognizable from the one I saw two years ago. The long line of beautiful longtail boats against that backdrop is it's trademark - and it looks so different without them Is Koh Tao (another fav) on the itinerary too Paddy?
People become more sociable in Asia. There is just a DGAF attitude that is thick in the air and the paradise settings and perfect weather helps with that.
I didn't think you where going to Railay cause you went straight to Ao Nang after Phi Phi. I'm so jealous it's the first place id go tomorrow if I could
How did your guide not get stung by that jellyfish?! I didn't know you could pick them up like that. Those kayaks are awesome. I'd be paddling along listening to some heavy dubstep 🤣
Epic and awesome! We are homesick to return. Ya, bad monkeys too! We've had the run put on us only because others have fed the little wretches. Vicious 🐒 Haha
I stayed in Railay in early March 2018, just at the end of the main tourist season. The weather was perfect, it was busy but not crazy busy. We stayed at Sunrise Tropical resort on the mangrove side and it was a lovely place. Very quick and easy to walk to the main beaches. It truly is a special place
Not sure if this is a silly question but when is low tide? I wanna go to Tonsai when I’m in Railay next month but would rather not take the jungle trail... lol
FYI, not sure if this is a site wide RU-vid thing, but if the viewer clicks “like” and then a commercial happens the “like” disappears. This might effect content creators video “likes” and ability to maintain that metric. Not sure if it effects you, but has been something that I have noticed recently. It also happens if you hit “like” then scroll down the page and come back up to the video the “like” disappears and you have to hit it again.
I was in Railay a few months ago. Rained the whole time, but still amazing. Great Indian food on the walking street and bring chased from the cock cave by a huge monitor lizard 😂😂😂
Hi have been to many places in and around Krabi many years ago, even the Ann Sommers cave. But my favorite place in Thailand is Khao Sok.Have you been there?
The only option for an attacking Thai monkey is Thai pepper spray. Had to use it in Phetchaburi at the caves/cable cart, out of season, no one there, hundreds of monkeys, my partner had our first baby, six months old and the monkeys proper attacked, luckily I had pepper spray. I hope you’ve got some for when you get up to those parts Paddy! Those monkeys rules the roost up there. Love that kayak 👍🏻
I had fun when I was there for 3-4 days back in 2008 but the crowds drove me away! The area is too beautiful for its own good. I planned to stay for a couple weeks but went to other parts of Thailand instead. You are super lucky to see it so empty. Happy Travels:)
Wow, where are all these places with free pillows and free shower water? I've not been to this pat of Thailand yet my partner has and he says it is beautiful
I am so happy I went to Krabi. Paddy Doyle is the only Brit that doesn’t have abs but is worth listening too. I still doubt if he is a nice person. Because only the gym fit Brits are nice.
