I am Ken Abroad, a full-time traveler traveling southeast Asia, currently living in Thailand, making Thailand travel vlogs. It is my goal here on this channel to visit every country in southeast Asia and bring you along the journey.
You won’t see much tourist places in my videos, I rather like to show the “real” sides of each country in my videos. Where do the local people go to eat? Where do they hang out? How do the locals travel through the country? Stuff like that.
There will be almost daily uploads on this channel, during the next months from Bangkok and Thailand. I will be traveling Thailand, showing you around local places in Bangkok or try lots of different Thai food. Join the journey if you are interested in experiencing Bangkok now and Thailand from a more authentic local point of view.

Hi Ken.. Next time you want to go to Borneo. Give me a buzz. I am from there and I can give you a lot of tips. You can even stay at my parents' house which is quite near to Mount Kinabalu for free. But beware of my brother, he loves dragging mat salleh along to drink rice wine. That's what happen to my husband everytime when we went back. Lol

Hi Ken The lady's statue is the Princess Mom of the late king (King Rama IX).She was a commoner married with the Prince Father (son of the King Rama V) and became the royalty Princess mother of King Rama VIII and IX and Princess grandmother of the present King Rama X. She established many royal projects to developed the local people to have work and income and taught them to preserved the environment and forest. She was beloved and respected for all Thai people.

Mr.Ken, the Lady statue you saw inside the chedi (temple) on the mountain top is the late King Rama 9 (king') 's mother, the current Thai King's grandmother. A portion of Her Majesty's ashes is kept in the Chedi. This shows how much the KIng's mother loved the people of Mae Salong.

Ken, to prepare tea, you don't need any special utensils. Just use any mug/cup that you can get in your hotel room. Put a little tea leaves into it, pour hot water and wait for a while.... And there goes your drink. No sugar is needed for Chinese tea.

Hi Ken, I drove to this this hill resort all the way from KL exactly 25 years ago. Obviously it has expanded considerably though some of the folks have since moved to Taiwan. The local Yunnan noodle soup is nice which you should not miss. Hope you have a great stay in this stunning hill resort. Thank you !

I think you should be able to make tea in your room. They usually give you an electric kettle for boiling water, and a couple of cups. And some tea bags. Instead of the tea bags, just put a spoonful of tea in the cup and pour hot water over it, and wait a few minutes. The leaves will settle to the bottom and you can then drink the tea without drinking the leaves. I often do this.

Normally Chinese tea is prepared without sugar or milk. There are 2 types of Chinese tea, semi-fermented tea and green tea (which is unfermented). The tea served in the west is fermented tea (normally served with sugar snd milk). The historical background of the Chinese Thai in northern Thailand is interesting, never knew that they fled communist rule. Looking forward to your next episode on Chiang Rai!
