We pick up a Mitutoyo 24 inch height gage and due to issues with how it is moving the connection wire tears. So in this video we restore and repair the device to good working order.
I hate flex strip PC boards. Where I worked (avionics design), the ME's would use that process even when not needed as they wanted more complexity in the packaging. It sucks when you take something apart for repair, and it gets damaged. So nice repair of your inflicted damage. Have to see if you ever get a new cover for this. I was able to order a cover for a Mitutoyo 12" caliper, my brother gave it to me from where he worked, I think it was a "safety award" (that's what my other brother, a rig welder called them).😁
4:40 - Jeeze that thing got a huge chip, what kind of chip is it? Why does it have to be so computational? Have any idea what kind of encoder system the height gauge uses for the linear type with a strip at the center?
Shouldn't you pre-tension the backlash elimination spring before putting it back? I have a similar Mitutoyo unit, got it all working but the LCD is very faint, can't seem to find a replacement anywhere
I have the same model. When i start to move it very slowly the LCD tend to be a lite late. I move it maybe 0.1mm and al of a sudden it starts reading. Do you understand? My english is not so good.
Hi. Im restoring a 192 605. At 10.15 when you are putting the wheel back on, well... i cant get it off! Nut is off and theres movement but it will not come away even with a pry. I can see anything preventing this. Any ideas?
My wheel was stuck too, spinning it released it for me. I believe the tight fit cut threads into the plastic. Realize this is 11mo old, but commenting in case it helps anyone else.
