The metal militia post solo riff where you commented , "what was James drinking?". The answer is most likely whatever Dave Mustaine was drinking. Many of those "weird" riffs are clearly his style and probably written by Dave. Great job playing them all!
@LETSpeakTRUTH

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. It sounds like his style and does one of his signature tells. Chromatically shifting the entire riff. Dave does this quite a bit.

I don´t blame him, unless he follows the lates (2018) news he won´t know Mustaine claims he wrotte the whole song, altough that part easly was a Mustaine riff.

@@antoniocenteno1483 I believe that fact was already out since 1983. It was the Metallica fanboys who formed their own notions for DECADES about how 'little' Dave wrote looking at the much obfuscated *cough* 'co-writing' credits.

@@sainandanramakrishnan4812 no, all we knew was he wrotte must of horsemen and jump in the fire (last one entirely), and that he co-wrotte phantom and militia but the last ones we knever knew to wich extent, neither metallica or fave ever pronounced themselves until last year and that was Dave so we know is 50/50 chance that is the true, there's nothing about fanboying about that, they just never said anything
@sainandanramakrishnan4812
@sainandanramakrishnan4812 5 лет назад
@@antoniocenteno1483 Yeah we now know unambiguously that James wrote the lyrics to those songs, but it was Dave with the music. Then again, everybody knew Lars decided to change the lyrics that no one cared about anyway with the sole purpose of poking his nose into credits that he had no other way of penetrating. Lars is a businessman more than a musician, band PR, reputation and image is super important for him.

The chorus of Whiplash, the verse of Jump in the Fire and the part thats soloed over on Motorbreath. I can't believe how many great riffs there is on Kill Em All. I remember jamming out to the CD a million times learning most of its riffs. I just need to spend more time with Hit the Lights and Pulling Teeth. (Hint use short scale bass to pull off impressive bends without killing your fingers)
@angadgianirogers1844
@angadgianirogers1844 5 лет назад
0:47 it wasn’t James who wrote the riffs only Mustaine could write stuff like that you can hear the difference between some Riffs from Kill Em All and Ride The Lightning. Ride The Lightning has more power chords and palm muted open e’s and Kill Em All had some single note lead riffs and also you can hear some Megadeth influence on some riffs on Kill Em All. Despite that both are great albums. But when it comes to solos Ride The Lightning has better solos than Kill Em All. On Kill Em All Kirk’s solos are much more bluesy and straight forward. But in Ride The Lightning he added some “chops” and small “moments” in the solos and that made some great solos like Fade To Black and Creeping Death. I hope you understand what I’m saying. Also what is your favorite Metallica album and favorite album in general. And if you can love this comment it would be great and leave a reply too. -Stoopid Gitaa Playa

Fun story regarding your n6 riff. I did pay much attention to Metallica in my 15's, was more into bands like Sepultura and Kreator back then but my friends formed a band and The Four Horsemen was one of the songs we practiced on... So... we got each a pirated download of this song copied over to each of the members that had... some glitches. For example that riff was played in some 11/8 beat as the F to E was off beat and super sped up. So this specific section became impossible to play in sync, 7 years later when I actually got a real CD of Kill em All I discovered how it was actually supposed to be played.
