WHO_TEE_WHO When you look through the barrel to bore sight in you turn the dials in the opposite way, but when you look through the scope to then actually sight it in while shooting turn the dials the way as indicated. Yes I know this sounds funny but that's how it works out. when looking threw a barrel to bore sight LOL Plus hit the top of the turret after every adjustment to make sure the cross hairs move. just a suggestion.

THANK you SO much for making me laugh. There are some great gun channels out there, but not many of them are REAL LIFE. This is what happens to Real Guys all the time. knownknot I like both calibers but for white tails a .243 is my choice. Deer ain’t difficult animals to kill if you have any marksmanship skills at all. If I deer hunted in parts of the country that had potential man eaters roaming the woods I’d step up to the .270. That’s a no brainer. I don’t see it as one or the other. I love them both. It’s just that here in the Southeast where I hunt the .243 or 7mm-08 make more sense. With urban sprawl being what it is along the I-85 corridor here I can see the age of shotguns only coming within the next 25-30 years.

You can't go wrong with either on deer brother. The .243 may not carry the same energy as the .270, but deer don't know the difference. In the past two seasons I've dropped 6 whitetail and 3 hogs with it. Only one ran more than twenty yards before dropping. The others drop were they stood. That was with 95 grain Federal Fusion. I prefer my .308, but feel pretty good running around the woods with a .243.

I went through the expensive vs dime store scope experience myself and have had the best luck with Nikon ProStaff scopes. Not the most expensive out there, but they work great for me. An old man that worked at a reloading store I used to shop at said to me that the snipers in WWII had scopes that weren’t as good as the cheapest scopes around today, and they were successful. He told me to just pick a scope and get good shooting it. I took that advice and bought a few Nikons.

Love the rifles, but one thing I've learned over the years is there are a lot of animals lost or wasted every year from not being precise enough on sight in and not buying quality optics. If you sight in at 25 yards you could be off inches at 100. If your optic fails due to being bumped or mishandled you could gut shoot the deer. Two inches high at 100 will have you hitting pretty well at out to 200. And buying better scopes (not saying you need zeiss or swarovski) is just much more ethical to me.
@WHOTEEWHO
@WHOTEEWHO 5 лет назад
Where I hunt there are no shots beyond about 40 yds. 😃 I am dirt poor, and everything i own is "budget minded" ive never had any issues with my scopes - most ive ever paid for a scope is $50
@beardedrancher
@beardedrancher 5 лет назад
Trust me when I say I understand. And if you're not shooting over 50 yards it is really unlikely that you'll wound anything. But if you ever go hunt somewhere that shots are far a leupold for 150 or 200 bucks might be worth considering. I get being budget minded, the most expensive scope I have was 300 bucks. It's a like a good guitar only sounds as good as the amp it's played through. A good rifle is only as good as the optic that's on it.

Love your videos!! Work on your follow through!! You come off the gun to view your hit soon as you pull the trigger Just a suggestion :) keep trigger pulled and eyes on target until you SEE impact.

If you’re off left when you adjust your crosshairs to go right the reticle should move left in the lense so that you will aim further right on the next shot.

And now we know why that scope manufacturer is out of business... beautiful rifles though and they deserve some decent glass on them... Keep the videos coming!

Hey, loosening bolts is not fair LOL!!! but I do own a .243 and for me it's more about, what do u want to shoot down? Cuz if I recall correctly, my buddy shot dinner with a shot gun , so when I was heating up my TV dinner, he was spitting pellets(funny as hell too) Love the videos.

All scope dials come with an arrow indicator indicating ONE direction for adjustments so it might have an arrow indicating a clockwise direction for UP, that means an anti clockwise direction for DOWN, and the same for LEFT and RIGHT, other manufacturers might show an arrow indicating an anti clockwise for UP, so then it would be clockwise for DOWN, so check which way the arrow is indicating on your scopes.

Glad you left the scope adjustment quirks in the video, anybody that says they’ve never had that happen is lying...lol. A couple of months ago I had a red dot freeze up on me, major adjustments and no result, then it decided to move from recoil I guess and the shots were printing ALL over the place, I had worked a 17 hour shift at the mill the previous day so I definitely thought I was losing my mind.....

I used to have a pre 64 Winchester Model 70 in .264 magnum. The ballistics on that monster were virtually NO DROP at 100 yards!

If it helps I mount a scope level with the barrel using a level and work bench top and side. I'm almost dead on from first shot.

On my new Vortex scope, the crosshairs would not move what so ever! 5 shots each adjusted, and no movement what so ever untill i slapped it a few times, and the 6th shot it moved all at once! and went from shooting high to shooting 2 feet lower all at once!

Researching my next gun purchase, I have been looking at ballistics charts. I was surprised to learn the impact force of my 270 was so close to my 375 H&H mag, I am selling the 375. The force of the 270 is crazy high. Excellent split screen downrange camera shot EVERYONE should be doing.. Firstly..how did you do that, and secondly, AWESOME JOB ON VID. PLEASE tell me how you did that pic in pic, and how did you sync it so well. Thanks for your efforts, I am now a subscriber.

Hey River man! Thanks for watching! I do a lot of pic in pic split screen in my vids so you can see the instant effect of the shots. Simply run two or more cameras and sync them in the editing software. A LOT more work, but I think it makes the videos better

Those Pinty (Amazon) scopes work fine. I have the CV Life version of those scopes and they compare favorably with my Bushnell Banners. I like the illuminated reticle for shooting at the 75 yard indoor range near me in the winter. I favor the .243 and .270 to the 30.06 for my use. I also have a couple .223 ca rifles and they are good shooters also.

I have a Belgian Mauser in 30/06 I love it it shoots awesome and it’s got iron sights as well as a Leupold scope so if the scope ever fails I simply remove it and keep shooting. Hunting is different in Australia but principals are the same

When you look through the barrel to bore sight in you turn the dials in the opposite way, but when you look through the scope to then actually sight it in while shooting turn the dials the way as indicated. Yes I know this sounds funny but that's how it works out. when looking threw a barrel to bore sight LOL Plus hit the top of the turret after every adjustment to make sure the cross hairs move. just a suggestion.
