This is the onboard footage of the Start from Kevin Estre in the #911 Manthey Porsche at the 2023 24 hours Nürburgring. He brought the Porsche up to P10!! This is the new Porsche 992 GT3 R
The aggression level of his driving in unreal. Half of his overtakes I feel are just the other guys knowing they don’t have the balls to attempt half the insanity he does.
I didn't see them as aggressive. Rather, I felt the driver was really good on the brakes but excellent on the power. The first few corners didn't see the rear coming loose.
@@nocomment1984 may 30th - June 2nd I am going for my 4th trip from the UK for it, highly recommend going. It’s the best motorsport event of the year in my opinion.
@@nocomment1984 yep, we camp at the bottom of the GP track and it’s about £60 per person for the 5 days we are there. Don’t go to Camping am nurburgring unless you are arriving on the Tuesday before the race, as it will be full by mid Wednesday.
For anyone wondering… the Ferrari he is following won the race. Frikadelli Ferrari 296. Sadly Kevin had tyre problems and had to retire, the Porsches had issues last year with the 992. Doesn’t seem that way this season though so far 😍
that porsche braking and corner handling is really good , boosted evenb more by kevins crazy driving , but its so slow on straights , he catches up to ferrari then looses it on straight , must be a bit frustrating , but Kevin did amazing there
@@larslindegren5632 No, he is slower. You can clearly see at around 9:00 down the long straight that he keeps losing ground to the Ferrari, while the Ferrari doesn't lose a meter to the back of the other Porsche's. But hit a turn and Kevin is all over them again. He is fantastic with the brake, throttle and balance of any car, and he has a lot of miles in various Porsche's. I always enjoy his 10/10th's style, but there is no doubt he is down on top speed, and at times maybe even traction/acceleration but the Porsche looks stable with him making the most of different lines, sometimes in the same corner! The Ferrari that got back past him went on to finish 7th (1st in Pro-Am) and the same model went on to win the race outright. I might not like Ferrari, but I respect them and they had a good day. I've seen Kevin on many days when he had the best car, and it was a pleasure to watch him make the most of it.
Estre's setup using slightly more aero? Other Porsches seem to be going just fine down back straight. The difference in straight line speed seems pretty negligible.
Omfg! That fucking blast at 1;09 when she opened up and then when that banshee was wide ass open all alone had me rocking back and forth with a perma grin and chills all over. God, I'd sell my soul for that one race with that car and talent. Carpe Diem!
I can only dream of driving this fast and skillfully. The exhilaration must be unreal. I once took my 640i up to 130 mph and I was terrified. That is why I stick to GT7 or Forza hahaha.😆😆😆😅
I’m just going to throw this out there for anyone that enjoys an evening smoke. Warn the family and play this one the big screen with surround sound on the highest settings. INCREDIBLE. Thank me later
When playing Assetto Corsa, I just play with the 911 GT3 on Nurburgring because: 1- Best track 2- Best sound 3- Best car (everything based on my opinion)
I notice that his speed on the straits is way lower than the other cars. Is this because he maybe has his engine mapping turned down for fuel savings since he knows he will be held up by slower cars or is it a draggy aero setting?
24h Nürburgring 2023 promises intense racing action! Watching Kevin Estre start from P20 to P10 in the Manthey Porsche GT3 R 992 is sure to be a thrilling journey. This video offers a front-row seat to the excitement of endurance racing at one of the world's most iconic tracks. Don't miss out on the adrenaline rush!
Yes, the SP9 (GT3) are the fastest Cars on Track during NLS, which till now included the 24h Race, which is shown here. Second fastest then Cup 2, with the 992 GT3 Cup Cars, and many other classes
I’m new to this kind of racing so I’m wondering, obviously Kevin is quick especially around this track but in all of the clips I see of him it’s starting towards the back, why is that? Did something happen in quali?
I didn’t watch the quali so this is my guess. Could be totally wrong here but this could be it. With the fuel tank in the front of the Porsche, a full tank equals greater front tyre grip and more weight on the front brakes when under heavy braking. Therefore reducing the fuel for a quali run could hurt the car in those two aspects. Again I could be wrong, but I just think the Porsche’s engineering could hinder it under a quali setup.
They often had some bad luck in qualifying, where the car wouldn't work as they had planned...also the balance of performance was really against the Porsches at that time.
There was problem with back tire in quali. Happen to all Porsche's car I guess. Also in race, there was moment when Kevin overtook Ferrari in front, just couple seconds after that he had accident caused of the back tire.
@@whiskeyrick3263 other way around, weight at the rear means you stop better because weight transfers to 50/50 when you're on the brakes. Also the heavy end of the car always has less grip in a curve - and that's why front a engine car understeers, and rear engine gives opposite in a curve - rear loses grip & slides first
