Watch how these endothelial cells form tubes from single cells within 24 hours.
Human Microvascular Endothelial Cells (HMEC-1) were cultivated and imaged for 24h under physiological conditions to visualize tube formation.
Material and Methods:
Primary HMEC-1 cells were cultured in Endothelial Cell Growth Medium (Promocell) and seeded in the ibidi µ-Slide 15 Well 3D on Matrigel (BD).
Phase contrast, time lapse microscopy was performed on a Nikon Eclipse TiE inverted microscope with 10x objective for 24h with a time interval of 5min. Temperature (37°C) and Humidity were controlled using the ibidi Stage Top Incubator.
