Hey Big Wheels I don’t suppose you or anyone here knows what the black plastic cap next to the idle adjuster screw on a T max covers I hit it with a screwdriver it cracked and air hisses out there is a nut behind it that I screwed in to try and stop the leak but made no difference I’ve now backed the nut out a bit but I have no idea what this nut is adjusting all I know is the fuel consumption is now sky high Any help would be well appreciated thanks 🙏
Thanks for the video. I just bought an '06 and I'm a little bit concerned about a ticking noise, probably from the valves. I can hear your engine does the same sound when you were checking the throttle sync. Is this normal in this engines?
Not sure about the Type II engines in the 06's. The engine was not that hot when I did the checks. Unless it's a "rather noticeable noise", I ignore it. I still have a couple thousand miles until the SM calls out a valve check on mine, but I would rather have a "root canal" instead of doing the check. You need a big shop to store all the parts that have to come off to do it. :(
