We are doing the concrete floor in a 24X36 pole barn. The dirt work had to be brought up so we brought the equipment in and got it graded and poured out in one day. We did have to battle the rain a little bit but in the end we had a smile on the customers face.

Can You tell me that the wire mesh doesn't sink down further than you pulled it up after you walk on it 😉

Keeping that wet helps make a big difference. Lot of guys won't do that and get cracking in the first 24 hours.

I’m not the wire mesh police lmao but I do have a genuine question because I don’t do big concrete pours. Generally just small things like sidewalk repair on projects I’m already working on. I understand why you’re pulling the mesh up as you pour and why you don’t do it prior to the pour. But, when you go back to screed wouldn’t standing on the mesh push it back down? Or is the thought the 5/8” aggregate will get under and not allow it to compress? I love your videos and think you have a great crew!

Thanks and exactly the aggregate holds it up and you want it in the bottom 1/3rd of the slab.

Good job. What’s the GVW of Clifford? I thought in NY, you needed a CDL for over 18,000. Give Rotor a pat for me. He’s a good companion.

do think cutting the grooves after is better than using the groove tool when slab is wet better or worse ( also have seen cutting grooves to early makes chip outs where older slabs cut better ) you are the expert tell us all your infinite wisdom

I'd like to have a 25 x 40 x 16 ,2 floor 10 pole barn.

but from all my experience and RU-vid videos a person can put up a pole barn, pour a slab ( and add a pecks heated floor if in cold climate ) and do spray foam as a vapor barrier and insulation and it Really Helps ( spray foam that is, so 24 on center is a great option ) structurally and have a great livable structure on the cheap !! cheap as compared to all else, add a few water lines, compost toilet and the dreaded electrical LMAO

is your slump so good you don't need vibrators ?? poured many deep pours in a power plant and they used 80 lbs vibrators and vibrated the hell out of it cause concrete voids in a power plant is a no no

I'm not gonna ask why you didn't use a pump... instead I want to know why you didn't use an expansion joint or something up against the wood. Everyone gets on my case when I do that and they tell me that concrete is NEVER supposed to touch untreated lumber... but what do I know?

Your cut squares may be to big....it should be like 8 ft squares....should of cut it exactly off the posts where it's likely to crack...just my opinion.

I don’t understand why the homeowner would choose to bury the conduit when he had the ability to keep it above ground.

I thought the same but maybe a shorter distance to run the electric wire for outlets and switches .
