Honestly, it's reasons like this that makes me want to move from the valley to the bay area. Very underrated bridge due to the Golden Gate bridge present on the other side haha.

I hadn't planned to go to California. Now, I must. How could I not see and experience this marvel? What is the best place to sit for awhile and just watch it. I think a friend would drive me to such a place. Thanks, Joan age 71, Florida.

Thanks for the reply, Tocoma's design is 100 yrs old, besides the supports, where the wind turbines would go, held survived Notwithstanding, wind turbines come in all different shapes and sizes, I'm sure they could be properly incorporated onto any bride. The Tacoma situation is proof that there is a tremendous amount of wind energy available at bridges. The space between the two land masses serves as a natural wind tunnel. thanks again, enjoy

I think its an issue with structural support. These bridges were never designed to have additional force applied to it laterally at a constant rate. Plus something like the Tacoma bridge might happen.

this project cost 8 million dollars and is expected to bring over 100 million dollars from tourists in the next two years, this is a gain not a loss.

cool, I always wonder why windmills are not on every bridge? Wouldn't the light show be that much more appreciable if it was the wind turbines made it carbon neutral -- I thought SF was into that kind of stuff. oh well

I agree! Why do we need to do stuff like this. I thought the world was supposed to be in a crisis. Complete waste of money, time, effort and energy. We should try focus our attention on solving the major issues in our world, like poverty and disease. Not put thousands of lights on a fucking bridge!
