25 Reasons Sola Scriptura is Wrong! Why Sola Scriptura Doesn't Work. Sola Scriptura is unbiblical, impractical, and it doesn't work. It's never solved a doctrinal question in 500 years. This videos shows the reasons to reject sola scriptura with Joel Peters.

Exactly. Which means Scripture is not being adhered too, and God is not being heard. Sola Scriptura CANNOT lead to misguidance or deception or confusion. Why? Because God is NOT deceptive, confusing or will mislead man. To assert otherwise is to question the very holiness and truth of God. Sola Scriptura places GOD above all and everything in the universe, because Scripture is Him speaking. His Word. Thank you for proving our point.

@@markmeyer4532 Classic Protestant spin in attempt to justify sola Scriptura which is false because it can’t be supported biblically. Without the Supreme Court as the unifying authoritative interpreter of the Constitution, the US would experience the confusion, division & scandal of 000’s of Protestant sects, which is not of Jesus who willed unity Jn 17:11-23, caused by personal interpretation with its many “truths” resulting in the scourge of relativism. No entity from family to corporates & govt can survive without structure, hierarchy & authority, hence Protestantism is unsustainable! The genius of Jesus is that His One True Church has those attributes with the Magisterium guided by the Holy Spirit to ensure infallible teachings made on rare occasions under specific conditions

@markmeyer4532 sola scriptura DOES lead to individual interpretation which is why there are so many demoninations. The Word of God is not meant to be interpreted by your own thoughts or ideas which is why there needs to be an authority which was given by Jesus to his Apostles and passed on to their disciples and passed on down the line to us today. Took me a long time to find the truth (38 years) but I found it and I hope you find it too 🙏✝️

The nonsensical nature of sola scriptura can be summed up by the following question: What's the point in having an infallible book if everyone who reads it does so fallibly?

i mean we both know that not everyone has the Holy Spirit, for example pope dosent have it,he said that all religions lead to God and if he was even a lil bit inspired by Holy Spirit those words wouldn't left his mouth,he literally did paganism 101

@@zhanucong4614 If you're representing your faith in a country where the majority is Muslim, and the interviewer is also non-Christian, it's important to approach the situation with respect for all religions. If you're asked about different faiths, would it be appropriate to claim superiority and belittle others? Doing so might create animosity and drive people away from your faith. Jesus said "love one another". To promote Christianity in such a situation, your behavior must reflect the values of love and peace that Christianity teaches. If your attitude causes others to feel disrespected, they may develop negative feelings towards your religion. In this context, what Pope Francis said makes sense. He emphasized that all religions are different paths to the same God, which fosters mutual respect. His approach encourages interfaith dialogue without making others feel inferior. His message was not about diminishing Christianity but about promoting harmony and understanding among different faiths. In a diverse world, this kind of respectful dialogue can build bridges rather than walls.

The evidence that it doesn't work is found in history. If it did work, why are there so many denominations and growing? All with varying interpretations and no unity. It just goes to show that Jesus, with his eternal wisdom, gave us his church. The same church that gave us the Bible in about 383 AD. Jesus also prayed for unity during the last supper. SS is just an excuse to twist scripture to make any theology work. They think scripture is the ultimate authority and that godly men have figured out the proper way to interpret it resulting in their champion theology. The problem is it never works that way, instead they start with theology and then conform scripture to make them plausible. How on earth does a baptist read “baptism now saves you” and thinks no Jesus saves so it must mean saved in some other way. If scripture were the authority you would simply accept that baptism now saves you and then make your theology fit with that truth in mind. The problem is, no Protestant theologies fit scripture like that. Try as they might, you cant squeeze the rapture, double predestination, symbolic eucharist, and good works having no part to play in salvation. The passages that talk about that should be directing the theology not the other way around. In this regard, i dont think anyone honestly follows sola scriptura. How can they and still remain protestant unless something ELSE is the real authority. Hermeneutical rules? Exegetical study guides? Your favorite pastor? Your own personal interpretation? Something is over riding and guiding the infallible authority and not one protestant seems to care about or understand this problem. Usually all they say is well you do the same thing choosing the catholic church. The difference is submitting to the church of christ is a guaranteed path to salvation but choosing yourself or something besides the word of god as your authority is a guaranteed path to hell.

One of the characteristics of heterodoxy is that it focuses on one or two aspects of the Christian message to the detriment of everything else. So, we have churches that focus on faith, churches that focus on good works, churches whose main concern is with the Jewish Sabbath, others that are concerned with the Oneness of God to the exclusion of the Trinity. Some churches are focused in on Pauline theology and not so much the Gospels, others that put all the emphasis on Latin and icons. Historically in the Church there have been heresies that focused on one or the other Persons of the Trinity. The Catholic church is different. It radiates the full Gospel in all it's aspects. It doesn't focus on a few dozen verses of Scripture, but believes in _all_ the verses. This is one reason it is called the _Catholic_ Church, because it has the _fullness_ of Truth is all it's breadth and depth. It doesn't specialize, which should be a red flag that that church has bore down on it's own intellectual biases rather than being obedient to the Apostolic Tradition passed down from generation to generation in the Church.

There are many verses of scripture that the CC ignores or rejects.becouse it doesn't agree with their agenda. They didn't accept 4th Esdras because of a verse that speaks against purgatory. The CC picks and chooses what it will accept rather than submitting to the word because they want to make their own agenda equal to God's word. Acts 7:48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, Acts 17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; They ignore this because they want to have God in a box in their church. John 1:12-13 [12]But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: [13]Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. They ignore this because there is no sacrament, no priest, and it doesn't give them authority. Hebrews 10:14 [14]For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. They obviously ignore this. Hebrews 10:14,18 [14]For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. [18]Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. They ignore this because the Mass claims to be a sacrifice. John 5:24 [24]Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. They ignore this because they say you must be judged worthy of eternal life in a "particular" judgement after death. This is just a start but enough for an example

THE book, a book of scriptures detailing the start till end mean nothing, nothing without faith. there are still billions of illiterate people on this planet. The works of our early fathers, the oral traditions, that's what brought Christianity to the far flung corners of the earth. The Bible without faith is just a story book. A story book that can bring out imaginations from interpretation. Thank God we have THE Church to to interpret the holy scriptures As they were meant to be by faithful through the 2000years. Not by men who thinks they've got it right by starting denominations after denominations. Remember, SATAN can quote scriptures

You say the Jewish people had their traditions, not the kind that Jesus condemned, but legitimate traditions. How did they determine what traditions were legitimate and which traditions were condemned? The legitimate traditions were found in the scriptures, and the condemned ones were not. The condemned ones made the word of God of none effect (Mark 7:13).

Psalm 138 For You have magnified Your word above all Your name” (NKJV). His Word refers to God’s solemn promises in Scripture. God’s Word reveals His divine oaths (Isaiah 55:11; Joshua 21:45; 1 Kings 8:56) and His holy nature-His “lovingkindness” or “unfailing love” (NIV) and “truth” or “faithfulness” (NIV). It isn't a surprise that not long after Gutenberg came out with the printing press that the Bible started becoming widely available and many men began interpreting the text for themselves. We went from just a handful of major church schisms in the first 1,500 years of Christendom (with the splits having more to do with philosophical differences over Christology than actual Scripture itself) to suddenly tens of thousands of denominations in less than 500 after the Protestant Reformation and the doctrine of Sola Scriptura.

@@emiliosanchez838In the Heidelberg Disputation (AD1518) and Theses - 17 and 35, Luther quotes from the book of wisdom, Sirach ( Deutero Canon) for his arguments. Martin Luther debated with Catholic theologian Fr.Johann Eck in AD-1519 about the doctrine of purgatory... Luther's Arguments are Debunked... With that moment Luther took a stand the book of Maccabees was not part of the Canon ... Luther who rejected the canon of Septuagint rejected classified Epistle to the Hebrews(as it teaches about the priesthood -Hebrew 13:17), James( as it teaches that there is a reward for man's good works, James 2:24) , Jude, 2 Peter, 2 and 3 John, and the Revelation of John as disputed( The Book of Revelation It is not useful to understand Christ, it does not have the work of the Holy Spirit). James 2:24 is the only verse in the Bible that uses the phrase “faith alone”-and it says that people are “justified by works and not by faith alone.” This is one reason why *Martin Luther wanted the epistle of James removed from the Bible* . Luther himself admitted that sola fide *contradicts* James-even claiming, “I do not regard it as the writing of an apostle.” In the pre-1530 version of his Preface to the Epistles of St. James, Luther held that James “is flatly against St. Paul and all the rest of Scripture in ascribing justification to works. . . . He mangles the scriptures and thereby opposes Paul and all Scripture.” Luther then issued the following challenge: “To him who can make these two agree I will give my doctor’s cap, and I am willing to be called a fool.” Thus, instead of adjusting his theology to fit Scripture, Luther’s solution was to *relegate the book of James to the canonical cheap seats* , declaring flatly in his Preface: “I will not have him in my Bible to be numbered among the true chief books.” Indeed, Luther’s advice was that they “ *should throw the epistle of James out of this school, for it doesn’t amount to much* ” And of course, Luther famously declared *James to be an “epistle of straw* ” It is a wonder that Book of James is still in the Bible of Protestant believers who cut their feet according to the shoe.

1st example. Whether a person believes the bread and wine are the actual flesh and blood of Christ has nothing to do with it. It's the persons intentions behind taken it. You honestly believe God is gonna look at the individual and say " I know your intentions were correct, but sorry, you didn't believe it was literal and instead believed it was metaphorical"??? 2nd example it doesn't matter how many denominations there are. As long as they all acknowledge christ as the only way to salvation, everything else is a secondary issue. You cannot name one example of a salvific issue that will prevent you from salvation in Christ 4th example again, the only rule of faith is Christ and Christ alone. These examples are just another way of putting the yoke of the law around you. Just as the jews only cared about their traditions and following the letter of the law, so is Catholicism. Catholicism is so concerned about the letter of the law, they forgot about how God looks at the heart/intentions of the person, not if he said the exact words, or walked with his right foot first.

SBaker, we can partly agree with you. I think God does look and care about intentions for sure. However, if it truly is the body and blood of Christ, someone, anyone, with good intentions would believe that if it were true, and not take a wishy washy approach as in l, "it doesn't really matter." Because truth also matters greatly to God. Jesus, Paul, Peter, in fact I can't think of anyone who said that just intention matters. Theu were firm about the truth though and what was handed on.
@CatholicTruthOfficial
@CatholicTruthOfficial 3 дня назад
Second point: woah! It does matter how many denominations there are. Why? Because Jesus started on and only one Church 2000 years ago, not 10s of thousands of contradictory denominations most of which started less than 200 years ago. Also, yes, they believe that Jesus is the way to heaven (a good thing), but they can't agree with each other on how to get to heaven, what Jesus taught, how we are saved, or anything else (bad thing). Scripture says Jesus has but one Bride and one Body, not 10s of 1000s. So these man-made denominations are not his will. The Bible several condemns schism.

The CC simply chooses to ignore the verses that teach Sola Scriptura. Acts 20:29-32 [29]For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. [30]Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. [31]Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears. [32]And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. Paul said there will be deceivers even in the church , so did he say to look to an official teaching body? A pope? Tradition? No! He commends the flock to the word of God. Peter speaks of his own tradition of actually seeing and hearing God on the mount, but says there is a "more sure word" to which we are to heed until Jesus returns. Not tradition, not the pope, not a majesterium 2 Peter 1:18-19 [18]And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. [19]We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: It is our light, not a teaching authority.

Protestant simply choose to ignore the fact that there are no verses to prove the Bible alone. And no history to back it up. The word of Prophecy was spoken, not written. It was only written down later. And if you read the context just a few verses later, and talks about how scripture is of no private interpretation which is still why you need the church. Maybe someone should have given Peter your message since he solved the doctrinal disputes by the authority of the church and not by scripture in Acts chapter 15.

@@CatholicTruthOfficial Sorry, should have included these verses 2 Peter 1:20-21 [20]Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. [21]For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. This means written or authoritative. " Private" doesn't mean the reader is alone. I refers to making one scripture stand on it's own , against the balance of scripture, which is the way Catholics use 1Pt 3:21 to disprove the balance of scripture teaching.

Protestants seem to what to hide this truth, pretend it has no part to play, yet the very foundation of their Churches salvation by Faith alone is a clearly antibiblical. (James 2:24) Its fruit of apathy can be seen in it removal of the necessity to obey Christ's teaching and commandments for our salvation despite what scripture teaches. Actually, that verse disproves Protestantism and their 100s of 1000s of man-made private and contradictory theologically and teachings. Yes, sola scriptura does not work because it just contains half of the truth of God's revelation or the Word of God. The other half is the Sacred Tradition. So the Word of God consists of 2 parts such as 1) Sacred Tradition and 2) Sacred Scripture. Scripture came from Tradition. Tradition is the mother of Scripture. Scripture is the offspring of Tradition. In a way, Tradition (1/2 of God's Word) is more important and more complete than Scripture (1/2 of God's Word).

Jesus never taught through sola scriptura. Through Scripture, yes. Sola Scriptura, no. He was Jewish, and Jews didn't believe in sola scriptura. They also believed in tradition and the refund authority of Moses (which Jesus affirmed in Mt. 23). Sometimes Jesus quoted Scripture, and at other times, he didn't. Sometimes, he preached by his own authority and referred to tradition. All you did was list passages where Jesus did quote Scripture, and if that's all. he ever did, you may have a point. But many times, he did not. He appealed to the teaching authority of the Jews and their traditions (the good kind). Jesus never even told any of the apostles to write except John. He told them to TEACH and PREACH. Mt. 28:19-20- Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them im the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, TEACHING them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Lk. 10:16 - Jesus who LISTENS to you listens to me. He who rejects you rejects me. Faith comes by HEARING. Jesus - "You have heard it said... but I say to you... You have heard it said... but now I say to you. Jesus changed the written law with his own authority. The same authority he gave to the apostles and the Church. Jesus started the Catholic Church, a teaching and preaching authoritative Church on Peter and the apostles (Mt. 16:18-19, Eph. 2:20; 1 Cor. 12:28-30; Mt. 18:15-18). He did not start a bible only church, which removes all of the Protestant denominations. Rather, he trained the disciples to be the leaders of the Church and gave them his authority (Mt. 28:19-20, Jn. 20:21-23) and said we 'must' listen to their authority. If we don't listen to their authority, then we reject Christ himself (Lk. 10:16, Heb. 13:17, 1 Thess. 5:12-13). They also passed on their authority to others through the laying on of hands. The church that Jesus started was teaching and preaching, correcting and reproving, and making doctrine before the New Testament even begun to be written (Acts. 16:4-5; Acts. 11:1-15; 1 Tim. 5:11; Eph. 4:11-12 and many more). When you realize that Jesus didn't start a Bible only religion but started a teaching and preaching church, you will realize that it's the Catholic Church, the only church that goes back 2000 years to the first century. This was the same church that made and canonized the Bible in the first place.

There are 63,779 cross references in the Bible, each an example of a Jew referencing another passage. That is sola scriptura. They did not agree on everything either. But they also had far fewer presuppositions than we have today. Sola scriptura is not about every fallible being agreeing on the meaning of a passage. Also, not one person in the scriptures, ever claimed to be infallible. Also, not one person in the scriptures pointed to another as being infallible.

The Jews also never pointed to another person nor entity and claimed there was infallibility Bryan. Why? Because they looked to the scriptures, not fallible man. Again, they did not agree on everything, but that does not mean they gave up and started to look or create other sources for unity. Peter was not talking about privately interpreting existing scripture. Ephesians 2:20 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, Where do you find information of the apostles, prophets and Christ Jesus?
