25 Years of Vintage Seiko Dive Watches - What Makes Them Tick with Alvin Bailon 

Really enjoyed this video. Back in the 1980’s when quartz had all but taken over the watch market there was a 6309 in the case. All the other watches on display were quartz anologs and quartz digital. I really believed at the time that wind-up watches were history and that brought a tear to my eye. The price for the 6309 was $90.00. I asked to see it and held it in my hand. To this day I regret not purchasing that timepiece. I had the ninety bucks but was too stingy to pull the trigger. Thankfully automatic and manual wind watches made a comeback several years later, but that 6309 is burned in my memory. If I hade a Time Machine I would go back and buy it.

Personally for being a vintage diver watch collector, this is the best episode so far. This man is a true watch collector with a fantastic collection of Seiko. The watches are in amazing conditions.

Excellent presentation of these great watches I have proof 6105 6309 Golden Tuna And many more and can relate to all these divers. Not many companies can make a divers watch like Seiko!!

This was outstanding! Thank you for the history lesson. I love Seiko Divers. Wearing a newly acquired homage to the 62mas, an Armida A12, which can also been worn during heavy rains. ;-) Maybe one day I will be able to get a real 62mas.

I have an all original 6309-7290 suwa (1987). Got it from my father.

Great video! With the exception of the 62MAS and the 6159-7001 I have all of them. But I learned something new. I have both the 6306-7000 and the 7001 and did not know about the case difference. Thank you for sharing.

Hello from LA, Cal. I like to hunt vintage and now will be focusing on these early Seiko Divers. Many mega vintage monthly venues like at the Rose Bow (Pasadena) and Long Beach Veterans Stadium. Great collection! I have an old 6309 from 1977, the first year of production that I wear a lot, it was my grandfather’s. I kind of feel like changing the bezel insert but i m afraid to regret the patina. What would you do?

Maybe my seiko king turtle will be sought after in years to come,due to the 1st time seiko introduced saphire crystal and ceramic bezel with that contested cyclops date window on a turtle.

I have 1965 seiko diver watch with small crown 👑 but needs bezel and minute.

I have the 6309 704L from my late father.

First watches serial number says August 1964.

The 6306 looks distinctly similar in shape to a Vostok amphibia
