Beautiful collection. I stopped buying newer watches and started looking for these vintage seiko's I am drawn more to the vintage style watches than the newer ones.

My grandfather bought seiko in 1983 model seiko 5 4216 5100 automatic and its still working im using it..i Love Seiko ❤

Thank you for sharing. I bought a Seiko 6138 Panda while stationed in Thailand in 1975. It quit working about 40 years ago. After watching this video several weeks ago, I decided to send my Panda to the Seiko repair facility in New Jersey. They informed me that they don't have replacement gaskets/seals and crystals, so it won't be waterproof to original specifications. That's fine with me... I will occasionally wear it and be careful to not get it wet. It certainly wasn't doing me any good broken and laying forgotten in a drawer.

I was in the U.S. Army in Japan in 1972. I remember that double register model. I started collecting Seiko's from my military experience overseas. Germany also turned out to be a great source of Seiko watches for my collection. By the way, more than one of my watches from that time period still works perfectly, without ever being opened...

Nice video! The Pogues are so cool. I would have mentioned the notch case on the earlier "proof" models as something collectors look for. A small detail, but an important one nonetheless. My favorite chronographs are the 6138 pandas.

I have a Seiko 5 its a foreign one the day of the week is in a different language but i really don't know anything about it either than its a seiko 5 do any of you know anything about vintage seikos?

Seiko makes the toughest movements in my opinion and you get the most for your money.

I own a December 1975 Pogue, which I have worn for 48 years as a everyday watch. It had its 4th service recently and is running 2-3+/- seconds per day. It was was serviced by Dan Blair (vintage Seiko expert) about 8 months ago (RU-vid Channel: Blair Watch Project).
