I haven't seen those parts of Queens in years. I will try riding through those areas in the near future. Love the scenery and camera quality in your video and of course that intelligent review.

thanks for joining us on this review Matt! Again, apologies for the delayed response. Life is currently at record levels of crazy and I finally found a way to catch up on RU-vid stuff. I appreciate your patience. Thanks for your kind words. Glad that I could inspire you to revisit some neighborhoods that you haven't been to in a while. It's always fun to go back to those places because it will always surprise you to see whats going on there now.

Loved the video bro! Great review and very informative. Been considering the Handlworks controller for a minute now. But like you said with those faster paced rides and the hills around SoCal, I’m going 72v on my RX. But this was super helpful and I’m really considering it for my wife’s R-Adventure. This would be perfect for her. Keep pumping out these great videos! Learning a lot from them on how to improve mine and get more comfortable narrating as well lol.

thanks for joining us for this review and welcome to the channel! I appreciate your kind words and I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the information in the video. Also, happy to inspire some improvements to content. As a person with no experience with any of this before I started this channel, it's awesome to hear that my videos contributed to another content creators content! Ahhh, 72v with the 3kw or 5kw motors and a sabvoton controller sounds like the right type of upgrade for your RX. To keep up with these crazy bikes and to tackle monster hills, you'll definitely need something more robust. Thats freaking cool your wife has a S73 too! I've been trying to convince my wife to learn how to ride but it's absolutely not her thing lol. When we visit SoCal and I try to link up with the SuperSquad for a ride, I'll need to find something for her to do! But yea, I think your wife would enjoy that extra punch that the controller will give her!

@@eyebahnrides thanks brotha! Yeah I’m thinking 5kw motor and fardriver controller. Excited to see how it turns out. And yeah I was actually surprised the wife wanted one as well. She had an electric beach cruiser and I took her on a few group rides but she hated that she couldn’t keep up with everyone else lol. So I took advantage of the Super73 warehouse sale and picked up the other bike.

thanks for joining us for the review homie! I 1000000% agree with you. Though it may have some trade offs, I think that the increased performance and will make the UU's even better for navigating urban congestion. Since they're lighter than the S73, they might even benefit more from the increased torque/ speed!

thanks for joining us for this ride/ review and welcome to the channel Tim! Glad I could help you make the decision to go for the controller. I think I'm going to remove the plastic cover that covers all that stuff under the seat so that I can get more air to it. Unfortunately, just like every PEV, you'll be able to enjoy the controller much more the bigger the battery and the higher quality the the cells are.

thanks for joining us for this review! As I start getting more comfortable with editing, I'm starting to experiment with some of the editing. I'm glad you noticed it and liked it! As for that view, it would be fun to ride the board down to that area. You'd probably need some larger streetwheels or ATs just because all that cobblestone is brutal. Or that could just be because I'm a newbie lol. I had trouble riding on cobblestones with the 105s but I'm sure a pro could fly over them!

In RU-vid channels, content is key, and you certainly nail this. I appreciate how you present info with chapters in the beginning, like how you speak and the quality of the sound. Could be more concise sometimes, but love your channel. You really help us making informed (and expensive!) decisions. New subscriber here. One thing you didn’t cover (or maybe 9 missed it?): is it worth upgrading if you’re running on a single (stock) battery?
@eyebahnrides
@eyebahnrides 19 дней назад
thanks for joining us for this review and welcome to the channel. I appreciate your kind words and I'm glad my delivery style. These are definitely expensive decisions and my goal is always to share my perspective as an owner who pays for these things out of my own pocket. I enjoy my ownership of all types of PEVs, from high performance to chill cruisers, so I try to approach it through the lens of you can enjoy something regardless of performance! I didn't actually cover that because, honestly, I didn't try operating it in single battery mode yet. Based on what I've seen with the people that have done it with just a single battery, they all say that it was totally worth it. I may do that test one day where I'll run single battery for a while, but for now, I'm gearing up for my new bike!

As you might recall from my long diatribes, I have a 2023 Apollo Phantom. I've got about 3300 kms (~2k miles) on it, and I'm just about done with my second set of tires (10"x3", with tubes) - though because of torque skidding, my front tires tend to wear faster. I actually didn't expect it to last this long, and I still get really good range out of the battery (though the scooter is in fact only a year old). I know you reply to everyone, but as always, no need to spend time you don't have on my questions. You're kind of my guru at this point, again, since I know you put the miles in on more than just one brand/type - in a climate similar enough to mine (Nova Scotia). TLDR: I wanted to ask about routine maintenance with e-bikes & how they compare in that way to scooters. How much maintenance do you do yourself, what kind of stuff do you or your techs say needs to be done routinely, for bikes & scooters? Things I find I have to do: I top up my tires to 50psi every day, before I head out. Annoying, but without that, they'd pop. I'm 200lbs so not exactly "the guy they use in their ad posters". I go around my scooter every couple of weeks with a bunch of allan wrenches & a monkey wrench, and the stuff that comes loose is frightening. There's always blue Loctite I guess, but with so many plastics, bolts simply need to be tightened - but going to tighten a lug nut on a wheel & you're able to tighten it by hand - yikes. And bolts around the tire rims coming loose all the time is scary. A 10" tire that takes less than 3 seconds to go completely flat, hauling my fat arse around at 60km/h +, I think it's beyond time I upgraded to a better design. Maybe the Apollo Pro, but the Klima is making lots of sense. TTYL.

thanks for joining us for this review! Again, apologies for the delayed response. Work & life are at all time levels of crazy at the moment and I'm finally have a moment to myself to catch up with RU-vid! With the bike, I've always brought basic "bike related" maintenance to a professional shop. Those are things like tire changes, brake pad changes, bleeding hydraulic brakes, and balancing tires. The only thing that I really do is checking on screws and tire pressure once a week. I clean and maintain the chain along with cleaning the bike when it gets dirty to prevent excess wear. I've been blessed with a great bike where I never had any electrical/ motor/ and or warranty issues in the 2 years I've owned it. Even though I'm hard on my bikes because of the distance that I cover on harsh NYC streets/ weather, I do take care of it. I would say that this is almost identical with my experience on the scooters. I'm not very mechanically savvy so I let the professionals do it even though it costs a bit more money. I'm still trying to get get hands on with an Apollo pro but they seem to be rare here in NYC. The second generation Klima Max has been incredible and I don't think you'll regret it. I'm approaching 1400 miles on it already and it's been a dream to own.

@eyebahnrides
@eyebahnrides 13 дней назад
thanks for joining us on this review! Apologies for the delayed response. Life and work has reached new levels of craziness and I'm finally able to catch up with RU-vid. Most Super73s already go 30mph stock with throttle only and most companies that make class 2- class 3 bikes use that as a benchmark. The @handlworks BAC855 just allows for a 20% increase in performance with out going into a 60v or 72v conversion that requires thousands of dollars worth of upgrades to batteries/ parts.

What do you ride the most and why?
@eyebahnrides
@eyebahnrides 13 дней назад
thanks for joining us on this review and welcome to the channel! I tend to rotate between PEVs but the one I ride the most is my Nami Klima Max. The reason is I can ride it in all conditions because of the IP rating and it's smaller size make sit easier to get in and out of tight spaces in the buildings.

More more more . In the midnight hour she cry more 😂. I just need more cause I have huge hills here. If I lived where it was flatter? It's be perfectly OK. Maybe a smaller flipsky ? But fardriver it is for here
@eyebahnrides
@eyebahnrides 19 дней назад
thanks for joining us for this review! Yea, if the hills were huge in NYC I don't think i would have a Super73 and I don't think the BAC855 would be enough. However, you'll be surprised how hilly NYC is and how steep the inclines are as your moving through the bridges and the different neighborhood. I would probably try to build my own eMoto if I lived in a hilly area with a fardriver, but luckily, this build is perfect for NYC!
@Londonbridge978
@Londonbridge978 14 дней назад
If you had to pick just one PEV what would it be?
@eyebahnrides
@eyebahnrides 13 дней назад
I would probably choose an escooter. Based on my particular use case, I think it's the perfect balance of size, power, range, comfort, and reliability. I can't think of a situation or a place where I couldn't use one.

@eyebahnrides
@eyebahnrides 13 дней назад
yup, there's a reason for that. Since there isn't alot of space on the roads of NYC, I can't have the mirrors at the end because the bars get too wide and I can't fit in between the tight spaces. I also don't have it on top because my camera's are usually mounted up top. Mounting underneath allows me to see what's going on to my side and what's going on behind me with very little interference

Yeah Eyebahn find something positive to say about paying a arm & Leg for a low performing ebike because it makes you a member of 73 boys club 😂, I'd rather get ERide pro SS or several other Ebikes before I let Super 73, Also 73 bikes are so low powered they never have any problems, That's why their customer service is readily available
@eyebahnrides
@eyebahnrides 19 дней назад
If you like fast bikes cool, there's no need to sht on what other people like. The great thing about where the market is right now is there are plenty of options where people can get what ever the heck they want. Not everybody wants an eDirtbike disgused as an ebike and some of us are happy with a class 2 or class 3 ebike. At the end of the day, people should spend money on what makes them happy. If I want a real power, I'd rather get a proper motorcycle and register it so I don't have to deal with the nonsense that comes with owning a eDirtBike.

The intro literally said this is a 250 mile ownership review of the Handlworks BAC855 Controller mod for the Super73... It also said it in the title.... I'm not here to sell anything nor am I here to entertain by putting on a fake show. This video is meant to help those that are considering upgrading their controller on their super73 but are worried about what it would do to their bikes and the info is delivered in my channel's style. If my style doesn't work for you...cool. The great thing about youtube is theres tons of stuff on here so thanks for stopping by and I hope that you find a channel that resonates with you.
