I owned a 2007. It was my first bike. That was probably 10 years ago. I love that Yamaha made a small displacement V- twin. The bike is just so light, agile, and nimble… not to mention comfortable too! It really was a pleasure to ride. As a beginning rider, I had looked at the Honda rebel but I wanted a bike that had the classic V-twin look and sound without all the weight . I put the same straight pipes on. I think I got them on eBay at the time and wow it really woke up the bikes character! Anyway, thanks for posting this video. I was reminiscing about my old bike. I’ve since sold it and it was nice to go back and revisit my memory a little bit with this video.
The fact you have to rev it to get it started and it’s cutting out even when it's warmed up is not a good sign. It's running really lean and that will damage the engine over time. Adjust the air/fuel mixture screw on the carburetor to make it richer and one better is to actually get the jet kit. It will solve these issues with it cutting out. I also recommend putting baffles in those pipe to get some back pressure. Good luck with the bike. The pipes are really nice. I love the length and how far they go back. Also how well they line up to each other.
Love the sound. I have an 07 xv250 and was thinking about changing the exhaust on mine. Also, I was wondering where you got your crash bars from? Those are the style I'm looking for, but can't seem to find them.
Well I just had my opinions on buying one of these bikes I like to be able to buy cheap affordable bikes I don't need a lot of power this thing sounds incredible I mean if you close your eyes you wouldn't even know it was a 250 I'm freaking Blown Away
