Man I love watching you create this beast piece by piece👌 I don't know weather it's the intricate connections built getting pieced together with such a thought process involved to get to the final result, but even my brain gets fried trying to get my head around a notable way of success trying to achieve your desired outcome 🤣 even if you finished the build of this BLOB and posted the videos 3 years down the track I would still be here waiting in anticipation for the next upload 👍🤣🤣🤣 as I said before keep on keeping on bro you have come such a long way and I'm hooked 👍👌👍💯

A six inch section of ABS pipe with a plug at one end (needs venting a bit)and a steam tea kettle at the other will steam those wood strips to act like a wet noodle. Bend them around the form and when they cool down presto you have your shape. Approximately one hour per inch of wood which of course has to be straight grained. Adjust the time as needed. Two videos in one week--life is good!! Can't wait til you get to the part about building your own neutron generating power plant to run this with from scratch! Have you come up with a name for her?
@Micington
@Micington Год назад
Sounds like more work lol might try it when I make the subwoofer box ;) cheers! I was thinking about making a neutron generating power plant out of melamine hehehe “The denominator” Lol when I was a kid my friend and I used to walk around saying “ I am the denominator “ we thought anything cool was a denominator lol (we didn’t know what it meant, but we thought it sounded cool)

Was that a really hot blonde in the opening sequences of the past two videos or just an average brunette with a ton of fiberglass dust on her?? In either case the boat is looking good. Heating blankets are made to put over the acrylic panels so that you can shape the whole panel. Might make getting the exact uniform shape you are looking for? Don't know what the bending does to the image if it gets too complex. I am thinking you are going to have to make a male mold and shape it over that mold with the blankets. Point heating will give an uneven bend using a heat gun. I am grunting with you when you are forcing the panel into the groove but am hoping not to hear that nasty crack as the panel gives in!! This could become one of your renowned tangents where you get into real glass making and blowing? Molded triple pane glass that won't fog up in the rainy weather. Wow!!

Hahahah JUST a hot blonde lol she was a bit dusty after getting all the slow-mo’s lol this video still didn’t get to 2 videos ago - blob 51 - top frame and near perfect cut of Perspex made the curve beautifully without 1 ounce of heat. After a few days of sitting outside it held its shape. As soon as you hear it up I was told distortion happens and one of the two Perspex guys said there was a high chance 4.5mm could do the bend cold. I did it! Blob 51! Looks mint. Just needed some force from dummy top frame which you will notice in that video. I’ll make a video that summarizes the window build so it makes more sense….. once I get the bloody windows done lol

Make sure you resin them prior, Bog adsorbs water. Aluminium flashing might help. On the top of your windows, create what you have done below on the deck, also use a heater to help soften the perspex. Man you have come such a long way. some of what you are making now is better than builders charging a Shite load

Haha legend! Thank you for the heads up! I am or have done same as bottom frame on top. I still have to make mounting points for them. Everything will be 2 pack primed and 2 pack polyurethane paint top coat…. Will that be good enough to keep the water away? Previous boats I’ve done have worked over wood….

@Micington Год назад
@@coachman290651 ahhh aww yep I found that out later on haha it definitely helps, even just leaving it in the sun. The main problem was I didn’t make a top frame or cut Perspex to correct shape. Next video is that lol

Have you tried putting slight smooth chamfers on the outside and inside edges of the acrylic, where it fits into the window channel housings This will help stop the sharp 90 degree edges of the acrylic binding or biting into the inside vertical faces of the window channel housings when fitting. The acrylic should slide down to the bottom of the channels and make fitting a little easier. A thin smear of something like silicone grease inside the channels will also help, if this won't react with anything?
@Micington
@Micington Год назад
Cheers I didn’t do that but it definitely makes sense. I’ll do that! I used some spit but it didn’t do anything lol. It prob go in nicer when we silicone them into the frames.
@graham7176
@graham7176 Год назад
@@Micington 👍 Use some fine abrasive paper to take the corners off the chamfers to the outside faces and inside faces of the acrylic, smoother the better. Forgot to mention that in the first time. Are the inside vertical faces of the channels smooth, snag free? Hope you don't mind, but these things are easy to forget when there's a dozen other things going off in the old grey matter.

@@Micington Funny that, I was thinking the same, problem is I'm in England. If I lived closer I would definitely come and help. What you're doing, design, problem solving then doing to a high standard, is what my business did for 30 years for many customers in various parts of the world, loved it. Especially when the brain gets stuck on something, a couple of beers or so, usually dinged the starter bell again. Good luck M.
