$50 is insanely low for omakase even with some of the courses being more mundane. To their credit, they piled on a TON of uni and I love clam miso, which they also piled a lot in. I'd be here all the time.
I absolutely agree. I’ve been researching many different types of restaurants for our trip to Japan. We were supposed to go in 2020, but we all know what happened then! 😮 So, I’ve watched many videos on Omakaze, teppanyaki and other dining experiences. I’d come to the conclusion that we were going to have to choose just one option over the others due to prices and locations of certain restaurants. So I love that DB shares all of their experiences with their fan base. Now I know that we don’t have to choose, we can do both! And on top of that it really looks like it’s a great deal…not a scam. I’ll be making us a reservation for this restaurant as well as the one teppanyaki that DB went to while visiting Japan. 😊
@@melissadunton3534 Yeah, Mr and Mrs. DB do a really good job of informing us about the variety of restaurants out there. I'm half-Japanese but haven't been to Japan since I lived there as a kid and channels like this really help me nail down what experience I want when I go back. I know your trip there will be awesome and I'm so excited for you!
Went here last December, I didn't remember there being so many courses but looking at the photos we took, yep it was that many. Definitely leave your schedule open for this, it takes a long time - I remember a couple of ladies having to leave before the meal was done because they were full and had no time left. Delicious and well worth the time and money. Just make sure to book in advance.
Same!! I’d been watching their videos on my tiny phone screen for so long… and now I can enjoy them on my tv without my eyes watering or my vision becoming blurry. 😂 And I can see the captions much better. At my age, watching RU-vid on an iPhone can be challenging, to say the least. ✌🏻😃
Can’t lie, I was thinking the same. 😂 In the US, fountain soda is like 15¢ usd per serving for the restaurants. So the customer usually pays about $2.00 for a glass of Coke and gets free refills. And then you have McDonald’s where a large (32 ounce) Coke is always $1.00 usd. Shoot, even a 20 ounce bottle of Coke; at a convenience store, is only $2.50 usd on average! ✌🏻😀😊
The price for the soda in the video is around the same here in Australia. In supermarkets you can get various sizes from $2 to $6 and packs from $6 to $40. Corner stores for a 300ml bottle can be from $3 something to $5 something. At restaurants and such they are around from $3 something to $5 a glass or bottle. Not many restaurants have soda fountains. Subway has them but it’s not free refills. At the cinema depending on which cinema, drinks, either fountain (also no free refills) or bottled are around the same as corner store prices if getting them out of a combo but it’s usually cheaper to get combos which run from small to large and are around $9 to $15 depending. Also tickets run from $13 to $20 depending.
@@Lethalport1515 wow! That seems so crazy to me. Honestly though, I don’t even drink soda that often. My beverages of choice are Gatorade and tap water with ice. So, while traveling I’ve never noticed what soda prices are.
Chef's Choice is usually the best option. These were so beautiful and the presentation is lovely. But, I wonder what one would do if there was something one could not eat. I wish I was more daring.
I don’t know how you find these places, but I’m glad that you do! And I’m even more thankful that you share them with us. ❤ This is an amazing value! I’ve been looking into restaurants that do Omakaze sets for our trip to Japan, but more economical than most. It’s like you read my mind!! This not only looks delicious, it’s a wonderful price point so that anyone can enjoy the experience and still have plenty of money left to enjoy other experiences and foods while visiting this beautiful country. I really though we were going to have to choose between trying Omakaze and Teppanyaki, now we can make reservations for both!!’ Thank you so much. 😃💜✌🏻 And to the restaurant that provided this wonderful experience and beautiful meal…we are looking forward to visiting your establishment while visiting your lovely country. ✌🏻🥰😊
I'm so jealous!! I love Japan and want to go someday. I follow a lot of Japanese creators and live vicariously through them. Japan is amazing! I really hope you have a safe a fun trip. 😊
What an interesting idea this place has! Much different to all the choose your own that are most places. I enjoyed watching Chef Go work, he was so quick and efficient with the dishes!
I was expecting a lot of lower cost but still tasty selections but they really went all out. The price is so low for monk fish liver, abalone, uni etc. plus really nice fish or a more common variety and some lower cost but refreshing items like radish. What a wonderful experience. The amount of uni was insane as well. I was expecting one maybe two sections but no they piled it on. I would expect to pay $15 for just that lol
Pretty cool! I would definitely try this for the experience! I live in the midwest United States and your channel has definitely expanded my world view. I especially love the vending machine videos❤hope there are more coming!
So nice to see Mrs. Bacons' yum yum face again, she is just too cute for words! (and really pretty while she's at it) That omakase looked so good, and I'm adding yet another place to the list of places I must eat at when next I go to Tokyo!
Yes I agree! They are both gorgeous woman and seem to have a wonderful partnership! (That is if Mrs Bacons wife identifies as a woman). They always do amazing videos!
I really wish I was brave enough to sit down and try all that at once. I just started enjoying sushi a few months ago. My next try will be eel. I’m working up the courage! 😂
eel was a little intimidating at first, but it’s great, especially with eel sauce & with a nice char. i had my mom try it without her knowing it was eel and she said it was pretty good, she asked what it was and i laughed and said “eel” she was so surprised and definitely wouldn’t of tried it if i hadn’t of told her it was good to begin with. best of luck on your journey! i hope you enjoy eel as much as i do
@@MaulyMayhem hahah, i’m the same with eel sauce as well as oyster sauce. i’m glad you’re going to try it, if you remember, try to report back. i’d love to know what you thought of it. enjoy!! ☺️
@@MaulyMayhem Eel may seem strange but it's my favorite tasting sushi. You don't have to worry about it being strong or "fishy". Actually, i'd even consider it excellent for beginner.
Hello! Just wanted to show my gratitude by sending you a BIG THANK YOU! Love your videos as always, and all the things in the world that you are sharing with us!
Wow, that is an amazing deal and the food looks amazing 🤩 I got so hungry watching this. I have dreamed of traveling to Japan my whole life. When I finally get the chance to, I will definitely check to see if this place is still around by then.
I’d love to have this experience, however I am allergic/ intolerant to ginger and some other herbs/ aromatics and such. Would it be ok or would it be rude to not eat it or am I able to request to not have it even though it’s the chef that plans the meal? Or would that mean that I shouldn’t go to this kind of restaurant?
I would say pick another restaurant with dishes that most likey don't have anything you're allergic to. Try searching what is on being served before you go. You could always bring someone to eat the food, as these places tend to have set dishes.
Everything is going by so fast, which make sense considering the video's title. Also props to the chef for saying the items' names in English for tourists
What a treat! I'd be in heaven, but a little put out by having to pay for my beverage 😂 My problem is that I don't have a good poker face, and if something went in my mouth that I didn't like, I'd either make my "yuck" face or gag. It's amazing to be served dishes chosen by the chef and I'd be wanting more uni! Holy Doodle, I adore uni.
That was an incredible and unbelievably steal of a deal! There were so many highlights to the meal, I couldn't stop drooling! Fyi, kanpyo is rehydrated and seasoned gourd, not cucumber
This video made me book a reservation for when I travel to Tokyo later this year! Was it delicious? The latest reviews don't seem that good, but your video made it seem very tasty
as a stoner,it hit hard when he lit the torch with a lighter. for anyone who doesn't understand, most those small torches have a built in ignition buttun to light the torch, but absolutely every one myself and everyone I've known have had, has had the built in ignition die within weeks to months at most. but since they still spew gas just fine you can start them with any normal lighter.
It would definitely do this again. Omakase in Japan. I went to one of their locations and it was worth it. I took forever to eat every last clam in that soup! Lol
I wonder the same thing. We know Ms. Bacons isn’t a fan of stinky tofu. 😂 But I don’t think DB has ever commented that she didn’t like anything outright. Just that occasionally something won’t be as good as she thought or that something isn’t spicy enough or is a little bland. But I don’t recall her ever saying that she just didn’t like something at all. 🤔 😊
also side note idk why but i just feel weird when you put your wife on the spot when shes eating, like dude why dont you, dont say you dont want people to know what you look like anytime you use older vending machines its clear as day.
11:45 Hokkaido sea taco. The only dish there that gives me pause is the uni. I would try the monk fish liver, but I would be worried. Other than those two things, it all looked amazing
@@amihectic323 the waitress came out when my mouth was full. I think they must have been watching for my reaction. Good for them😊im sure it was worth it.
This is just like on the Titanic when rich people would have like 30 course dinners over the span of 6 hours taking tiny bites at a time at small portions of food, taking long pauses in between bites to talk
$50 total or per person? Fun video :) glad this was more of a healthy meal. Take care of yourselves. ❤ hoping to go to Japan for the first time summer 2024 with our son who is very into Pokémon. He will be 12 when we go and looking forward to it. We love sushi, just nothing with raw fish so this may not be for us yet looks good.
Ngl thought the creaking squeak I heard right when he sliced the fish was caused by the fish. Before it dawned on me it was probably one of his co-workers behind him having made a plate squeak against something 😂
Hi is this the 120mins or 90mis omakase? I'm trying to book a reservation but they have this 2 options idk which to choose! Would like the same as yours. Thank you
