What a honor to be part of content of one of my favorite content creator.....I love fighting games, so i missed alot of games here.....like Samurai Shodown, Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting and the KoF series.... But Neo Turf masters and Puzzle bouble are up their as my favorite as well....I love the Neo Geo, I have alot of stuff from it, sadly this days is getting too expensive to collect for.... Its a great video, from a great system....thank you.
Thanks for being part of this 😉 and thanks also for sharing your knowledge! Guys, if fighting games are your thing, don't forget to check @RGF 's channel! Cheers, mate!
A few other great/notable games missed off this list: - Ninja commando - Viewpoint - Prehistoric Isle 2 - Baseball Stars 2 - Nightmare In The Dark - Zupapa - Magical drop 3 - Super Dodgeball - Crossed Swords If you like Shock Troopers, definitely try Ninja Commando!
Great video and I agree completely, we have already heard about 100 times about the fighting games... lets see other Neo Geo games... personal nostalgic favorite The Super Spy ....
That golf game at 6:22 looks hyperbolic but great. Reminds me a bit of Major Title for the SNES, an Irem game. Learned the rules of golf by playing that game on the Super Retrocade. On the downside, despite your spoken English being good your accent is hard going at times.
i recently got my first Mobile Emulation console (Miyoo Mini) tried also neo turf for the first time. i couldnt leave the device down :) "ON THE GREEEEEN". who is that andrue tate on the cyber-lip game?! Haha
Mesmo, Neo Geo era uma "power house". Não é uma masterpiece a nível de grafismo mas toda vibe do jogo e o gameplay achei divertido, pena ser curto.@@itsaPIXELthing
The fighting games of the Neo Geo and SNK do tend to overshadow pretty much anything. Only a few times do I see the non-fighting game output discussed; Metal Slug, the Neo Geo Pocket Colour and once or twice when I've heard Athena mentioned. Nice of you to shine the spotlight here on the other genres for the system. 1:56 - Oh, limited power. For a second I thought you meant ammo. Man, that would be awkward to run out of ammo for your basic gun in a shoot em up. Alpha Mission II here looks lovely. 3:04 - So I wasn't the only one getting Amiga vibes from Blue's Journey. It's got a zoomed out look to show a wide amount of the level but a nice vibrancy to make visuals clear. 4:30 - SNK could certainly create some appealing characters. They all look pretty splendid here. 8:32 - It's rather funny that they have more than enough reason for Johnny to go on this adventure to get his treasure map but they decided to throw an additional damsel in distress plot as well. Was it a criteria these games had to abide by? 9:35 - Okay, I've also heard Windjammers get talked about a fair bit as well. I'd actually say that the first thing this type of game reminds me of is Air Hockey. 14:11 - They couldn't even do a good job of trying to censor it; that just ends up being hilarious. Even funnier that they had to cover up the glimpse of cleavage and thigh of a game where you gunning down hundreds of people. 15:28 - I love the jumping in-and-out-of backgrounds mechanic going on here. Fatal Fury did the same and it's cool to see the mechanic repurposed here. 24:24 - Mutation Nation's super attack here looked pretty cool. I saw the title and couldn't help but think of the CD-i's Mutant Rampage: Bodyslam. 25:51 - The most recent Puzzle Bobble game I played (Bust-A-Move on the Wii) didn't really have a story mode so it's neat to see it included in this Neo Geo entry. 27:44 - Always nice to have a Bomerman game on a system... though I can certainly that he isn't riding a Louie there. 32:32 - I think I do own that Metal Slug Anthology; I look forward to getting around to playing it. 36:32 - I do like top-down racers and Thrash Rally has a more comfortable zoomed out look that gives a better view of the track. It looks a lot of fun here and nice that your love of Dakar got a mention with this game's inclusion in this video.
Tantas moedas gastei nas arcades do Neo Drift Out, Puzzle Bobble, Windjammers, Neo Turf Master... Outros posso jogar na colectânea que tenho para a PSP. Grande abraço Pixel 👍
Thanks for putting this excellent video together. Lots of games for me to try out ta, although that Overtop one was so zoomed-in it hurt my eyes and head so might give that a miss! Thanks again sir.
Great list! My all time favorites are pretty much the same, and I agree there are way too many fighters on the system. I have somewhere in the upper 30's of the "ACA NeoGeo" series, with only about 7 being fighters. I used to have an AES but sold it long ago. Magician Lord home version was difficult because you had to start at the beginning of the stage on death. The arcade version is easy as you just start right where you died.
I like Neo Turf Masters WAY better than Tiger Woods' PGA Tour. Arcade Golf games are more fun than simulative ones. Neo Turf is probably the best golf videogame of all times (2nd best is Mario Golf). Anyway, very solid list.
@@itsaPIXELthing No, thanks to you for the fun video! As someone else pointed out, whenever there's a discussion around best Neo Geo titles, it's always 1-on-1 fighting games and Metal Slug. Both are awesome, but the system has so much more to offer. I loved playing stuff like Windjammers, Magician Lord and Sengoku 3, back in the days. And Alpha Mission 2 is SO underrated. Another fun atypical Neo Geo game is League Bowling. Simple game, but so much fun and color to it. Also Street Hoop, and Power Spikes II, About golf, I've been playing golf games since World Class Leaderboard on PC DOS, in glorious 4 colors EGA. Golf games are so much fun, they deserve more love. 😃
Yeah. My bad. I know. I have to do everything, you know? Writing the script, voice over, edit the video, play the games, etc. All that in my scarse free time, after a long day at my full time job and after spending some precious family time. Only then I can work on my content for my youtube channel and errors like that can occur. Thanks for watching! Appreciate it! Take care!
You copied the script of this video from retrododo's article "Ranking the best neo geo games ever made". The part about shock troopers for example is the same, word for word. At least make an effort and paraphrase a bit...
Sorry, but I guess it was the other way around. My video was published on the 29th of September of 2023 and the article you mentioned is from February 1st of 2024. Yeah.
I really like this video and watched it with my dad In fact you sound like my dad who is a Serbian of Russian ancestry. :) I subscribed as unlike the NOrth American and British video game vloggers you have a nice manner and good personality!!! Thank you
@@itsaPIXELthing Ah thank you for your kind response. Sorry for being so wrong with my analysis :) I think it is the soft sound to your s's and c's It is similar to the slavic languages :D I found the jack rabbit game you recommended since watching that video and looked for Shock Troopers on my dads system as i had forgotten about it after watching your Neo Geo compilation. Thank you for your kind words :D I will watch mre of your channel as you cover things not regularly covered. Cheers to you too!
