@TarmacMag That is simply amazing power-slide control. Amazing, you can see that by the end of the stage you were a bit more quicker, when tyres were at least a bit warm. I have V70s on my supercharged elise, and they are brilliant!
Amazing car control. It reminded me of Glen Seton in the Nissan Skyline Turbo many years ago in the wet across the "top of the Mount". Well done Dean. Seemed like a huge amount of understeer.
That's a great insight to what you guys get up to and how dangerous it is. Great navigating too. Very calming. Would have loved to see video of the 944 trying to rockclimb!!!
Thanks for your reply, and I wish you all the best in your future races! We're all looking forward to seeing your podium finishes (and HOW-TOs! :) ) soon again!
Great video, thanks for sharing. Noticed your left leg was hitting/pressing the shifter, I've made some simple modifications to my Lotus shifter that raised it about 4-5 inches and moved it away from my leg (much eaiser/better feel) and as far as I know it doesn't violate and spec rules (so far). I can see a sequential box being a huge help in these types of racing events. - Rob
under steer, over steer, 4 wheel drift, all on one of the wildest stages on earth. A1 for effort and car control! you do know that if you fall off the edge you will land on another planet, its the edge of the earth!
are those post fences going to help if the car lost it? will them prevent the car from rolling into the valley? I race also, but I think hill climb is the most dangerous motorsport in the world.
I liked this vid a lot, although never really thought about how narrow is the interiror of an elise or elise-derived car, you left leg is constantly pushing against the gearknob!
Well done mate! Was the stage wet and you had so much understeer? Excellent car control when "powersteering"! 8) You really made my day, since I 've ordered a Cup 260 to be delivered next month! :) Cheers, Theo
that was pretty commited all the way through. lovely. makes me realise that if i entered id probably finish only ahead of the old farts in the vintage cars, and maybe that porsche you steam rolled.
RME cars may become tricky under some circumstances. You just have to show excellent driving skills to prevent some out-of-shape drama. Once off-balance, you'd better hit the middle pedal hard!... 8)
