⁠@@Afterlife2570 from my experience, it takes on average $200 to bleach your hair that level of blonde plus a toner for the platinum look. Then maybe $100 every 6 weeks when your roots start showing. Plus you have to buy the special shampoo and conditioners so your hair doesn’t break off

@@SniperKingz Not at all. Lots of budgeting programs are focused on buying less takeout, finding cheaper options for beauty luxuries, and generally targeted at women in general. There are very few options telling men to stop buying expensive sports channel packages or stop going to shows or slow alcohol consumption. Men are still the ideal consumer because they are traditionally not taught to budget.

I consider myself very financially literate and have never taken on debt except for my mortgage, but I have never understood the need to kill money in an emergency fund. Perhaps because the markets have been extremely strong for the past 15 years since the great financial crisis and fortunate that I havent really had any crazy unexpected emergencies that blind sided me, but I think the opportunity cost is too high when you consider that emergency funds can greatly compound for you at the start of your financial journey. It's better to get that fund working harder for you because over the long term, the chances of those funds being down are near zero. The further you run, the bigger that emergency fund will get. Learn to use that credit card properly and have that for your emergency, then pay it off right away. If in the short term you are down 15% to even 30%, so be it because that will only be a short-term thing. Historically, the markets return 9%, so shouldn't you stick with that

@@cheynebest7028point is to do both. Have available cash on hand to protect against anything catastrophic but only to a certain point. Once the fund is there - invest everything else. High yield savings can get nearly 5% and the cash is available immediately. Tying ALL your money up in investments is risky

You know the answer is 'no'. They'll feel really bad for a couple of weeks, maybe a month or two. Maybe they'll even make a genuine effort for the first couple of days. But it's not about radical change; that stuff just feels bad for a very long time and they'll ask themselves "what is the point?" or just justify their outrageous behavior to themselves and give up. Gradual change is where it's at, and it's too late for that.

I was once like her. At 42, I had $65K in credit card debt, $50K in student loans and $120K in negative equity on my home. Im now 57, debt-free and have $120K in savings. I didnt use a coach or declare bankruptcy. I just needed to discipline myself with money. You'd be surprised how much of your hard-earned cash 'leaks' through the cracks buying things you dont need, rapidly depreciating assets (like new cars every 5 years) eating out or in credit card interest. Read the statements that come with your credit cards. - It can take two decades to pay one off, but if you can add an extra $40, it may be only 3-4 years. Pay the highest interest cards first, one at a time, then when you pay one off, take that payment to tackle the next card. - It snowballs. It may seem like youre drowning, or even the end of the world sometimes, but you can get there. Good luck on your journey to financial freedom. You've got this!

Now that I’m a little older and maybe a little wiser, I’d have to say this is the best advice to young people struggling with their finances. Take at look at exactly where your money goes every month, you’ll be surprised (maybe even shocked). And figure out how you are repaying your debts, and if it makes sense to repay a little faster. If most of the monthly payment goes towards interest, you’ll be paying that debt for decades. Some people have paid a total of as much as €150k to repay a €30k student loan.

As someone who went out of there way to take financial coaching classes in high school and have family members that are very very good with money who have coached me I’ve dated multiple women who can’t stop wasting money. And I’ve told them what they need to do to fix their financial issues but they can’t stop wasting money on going out and buying clothes and eating out. They seemingly can’t control themselves. Some people just don’t want to put in the work they like the “feel good”

That's what most life coaching is. Actual life coaches are not nice people. They are very blunt and brutal and can get to the extreme of nice and complimentary too when it's deserved. What people want with most of these life coaches is to feel good about life when their life actually sucks and they don't want to face it. He's done a few follow ups, even having three previous guests on for a follow-up after the follow-up. Almost all of them don't take his advice or fall off after a while, and almost all of them end up worse off. One just seemed in it for the engagement for his socials. Only one follow-up guest has had their situation improve since coming on Caleb's show.

People assume I'm broke and often offer to help me out, which is so funny to me... I'm not broke at all, I could pay for full replacement of my central heating system out of pocket, without even thinking about it. I could replace my car 2 times over without even touching my long term savings. I have a hefty retirement account and building a S&P 500 stock portfolio little by little. I'm actually quite wealthy and have a lot of assets, but not enough liquidity to have a fancy lifestyle. I enjoy this life, removing worrying about finances and seeing my wealth slowly building up removed a huge chunk of stress. Spending a week abroad and sharing photos on instagram about "living my best life" simply not worth it for us. Setting up my kids for financial safety and having a house I can live with minimal financial strain until the end of my life does...

Which I thought was common sense, but apparently some seem to see making minimum payment like some kind of homespun cashflow optimization scheme. But I'm not from the US. I know attitudes to debt are different in different places.

Eddy, I give her no props and here is why. You don't need to go have a discussion with anyone whether it's in front of a camera, on RU-vid, another individual, counselor, or life coach, etc. You have to be able to quit lying to yourself. It's all about being real with yourself, where you stand, without making excuses or trying to justify your poor decisions like demonstrated here in this video instance. You can't learn with that mentality, and you won't change a thing in your lifestyle. I don't believe she will change hers either until she has to either lost clientele/income, maxed out her credit cards and can no longer spend, claim bankruptcy, get in trouble with the IRS, or end up in jail. She will only make it harder for herself and everyone close around her. Family, life partners, and friends will suffer alongside her as well. And what bothers me the most is that she is in business to give other people life advice when she has no idea how to live her own. Spirituality means taking care of all your life, not just singing kumbijah, rubing a statues belly, naming and claiming, hugging a tree, or lighting candles. Let's put put on a dumb smile, use a stupid laugh and hope for the best, and we'll call it Spirituality.. BS !! BS !! BS !! Again, i give her zero props.

This channel is gonna be at a million subs before you know it. Long-form financial audits are a nice pivot from Dave Ramsey style where he only spends a couple minutes on the phone with each person. I eat plant-based and try to follow a healthy lifestyle as well. People often comment that eating this way is expensive or elitist. it can be very expensive if you buy a lot of specialty products. But actually, dry beans, whole grains, and in-season on-sale produce is cheap AF. And it is the healthiest diet for the people and the planet. She can easily spend way less than $500 per month for her alone to eat an extremely healthy diet.

Meaning : for all I know, this entire segment, and all others like it, may be entirely phoney and scripted from the get-go. It's near impossible to know for sure with things we see on-screen.

That was the thing that most stood out to me. Everyone wants to appear better off than they are - especially in a situation like this. He based the spending and budgeting off of $6500 a month. I think she makes around $2500 to $4000 depending. That’s why when he finally breaks it all down she has a 100 yard stare at just how unattainable it’s all gonna be because she doesn’t have a correct monthly income.

There are overweight doctors, broke financial advisors / accountants / economists etc. The science still works and the goal in life is being the best version of yourself but no-one is perfect most of us are a work in progress! Even if someone looks out together be wary. Good luck :)

@@aoki556 I meant that they have to keep spending money to see said life coach. Life coaches aren’t cheap, a coworker of mine almost bought into a yoga/life coach session for 2000 dollars. Assuming she’s charging around the same amount she only really needs to see a couple clients for a few hours a week to make her average income. Honestly you have to be convinced that your services are worth that much to be able to sell it and I feel like therapy works better than life coaches. Especially since it seems like she lives a carefree life since she doesn’t know what a lot of her charges are on her statement.

I think I'm bad with money because I spend ~£50 a month on improper food and drink... and then I see these people and my jaw drops. 16k DOWNPAYMENT on a car... if I financed a car, lost it, then got an insurance payout for 10k+ I'd probably be getting a 3k car and jumping for joy round the room that I got a fat 7k to stash away and forget about till a rainy day or when it's time to start thinking about a mortgage... she just dashes the entire insurance payout AND THEN SOME SAVINGS. Well done 😍 I've had a really tough time recently because I was being over-taxed (common UK issue when changing jobs mid tax year, but you get it all back eventually) but I'm finally being taxed right and seeing my eaten-away savings go up just £100 from what it started at was such a relief. It seems so small, but to go from eating away at it to seeing it grow just that little bit is amazing 🤩 but through all that tough time since Jan, I am so proud of how I managed what little I did have. Was also thinking about this in the video. She's definitely not paying enough in taxes and certainly isn't filing with a CPA/Tax person doing quarterlies. Which means she should be saving for her once a year income tax filing, and probably send out at least 25% of her revenue. She needs to understand how businesses need to make profit in order to survive and she's suffering from the number one reason most businesses fail: NOT ENOUGH CASH.

You know I'm not really sure with her because she "has an abundance mindset" which she took to a level of not denying herself a single whim. I think her not knowing how bad it was is also true but I also don't think she understood how serious it is because she thinks a credit card score below 600 is fair.

I only used $20 dollars at the time so it's not an issue now but younger me could've used that $20 for literally anything else and it would've been better. Could've gone towards credit cards or security fund but instead it got tied up for nothing.

no fr the fear of finding out how much i owed is what kept me from financial security all this year. but once i finally sat down and confronted it, i was able to make a plan to pay it all off soon so i could start repairing my credit. hopefully i’ll be done in the next couple months! i’m proud of her for taking this really tough step to get her life in track. stay grounded and you can do this!!

I feel like the problem here is that simply telling her what she needs to do is not the solution. Many of these people have major psychological issues which are driving their spending. They’re going to walk out of there and indulge in the fantasy that everything’s fine because they’re addicted to the feeling that they can just buy whatever they want. In her case the reality check probably won’t come until the IRS is banging on her door.

I have a financial planning practice in NY for over 25 years and agree with everything you have said. It’s true people need to hear the truth. Only thing I would have done different is to get her more involved in conversation and solution. Talking at people with something they don’t understand in my experience doesn’t work. It needs to be a plan she understands and is involved in. Good stuff and wish her luck.

He definitely cares about those who come on because he understands how screwed they are if they don't change. My dad always told me to treat a credit card like a debit card. If you don’t have that money in your checking, you shouldn’t spend it on credit unless it’s an absolute emergency and you’ll be able to pay it off later. Unfortunately a lot of people around me don’t seem to understand that and dig themselves deep into credit card debt. I’m grateful that my dad drilled that into my head.

Nah. Its ok to get credit. The problem is the reason you went into debt. There are just 2 kinds of acquired debt. The first kind is passive one. The kind that only piles up on your monthly expenditure. The second one is the active one, where you get credit, but that money gets invested into something with quick returns. The returns you get on the investment goes into your payment, so you dont actually have to pay, and over a certain period of time, you pay the debt and you then keep the returns for yourself. So you can buy a machine or equipment that makes money for you and at the end, you didnt spent a single dime on it. So the problem is that people only acquire debt to spend, not to earn.

I really feel for her. She seemed so excited at first and as Caleb talked, she became more and more closed off. His plan for her is amazing and I really love that she could get debt-free in six months, especially Caleb‘s idea to sell off her stocks and use it to pay off her credit card. I really hope she takes a minute to reflect and takes his advice.

unfortunately i agree with caleb and am not very optimistic about this woman. she seems quite lazy. lazy to work: only around 5 hours a day. despite that lazy to cook: gets take out all of the time. financially irresponsible because she’s lazy to educate herself. lazy to fully think about and process caleb’s advice as shown when her immediate response is to increase her income, which will likely lead her to inflate her lifestyle even further and never get herself out of debt. the consequences of always looking for the easy shortcut in life…

An instant pot is the easiest damn thing to make easy fast meals you can make yourself and have the pride of making it yourself. You can literally just google top pressure cooker recipes and make great meals that last days when made. Set aside literally an hour or two each sunday and throw some vegetables and a protein in a pot with some sauces and spices and you got a stew or soup that lasts days

I have alot of respect for this gal to expose all her dirty finance secrets on a RU-vid channel and not ball her eyes out. Some people have said she's not taking accountability, but I can see the sadness and fear in her eyes as he speaks. We all have problems that are so painful to face that we just keep burying ourselves further into the sand. I hope for her sake she can make some major changes and begin to feel a sense of pride in her accomplishments. Also props to Caleb for having the strength to tell her like it is. Someone who cares about your success will have the guts to speak hard truths.

It always gets me how these people are drowning in debt, but then have all of this money on hand to completely pay off cards right away. I just got to a position where I can pay more than my minimum monthly payments and have been snowballing it down. She just doesn't want to give up her lifestyle because if she does, then she can't market herself as this successful life coach.

@@parkjiminismylight6441 Depends what you eat, tbh. My grocery bill if I don't eat anywhere is about 500$. Lets say 15$ a day. I can get 2 pizzas for 9 each or 18 total. Usually lasts about a day and a half, but could do 2. That comes out to 270, if you add half 405. So I could eat nothing but pizza and it would come out cheaper than groceries.

I had about $85,000 in student loan, and unfortunately a ton of credit card debts as well, but in my case, i made use some of credit card balance to clear about $7k on my student loan trying to find how to get through this, I was also between starting my business because I wanted to be able to call my own shots and be in control of my own destiny. Grant is a great opportunity for every entrepreneur to explore. I was able to clear my student loan and start my business with grant money.
