It took me 2-3 years to become comfortable with the silence and solitude. But now, as I've aged, I find that I'm happy alone in my own company. I highly recommend reading our most revered religious and spiritual book, the 'Bhagavad Gita'. Just get a copy with a simple, easy English translation. It will be a life-changing experience for you. It has changed my outlook on life too. I'm from Himachal as well. I hope you liked our state, and if possible, please ask someone to arrange for 'Kangri Dham'. It's a local dish that you'll enjoy!
