OMG! Not sure why I never thought of this! Model > texture > render > paint over > camera project painted THANK YOU! I love that flow. You could use poly selections to restrict the projection on some of the areas it gets weird. Thank you again!
Bro it works the same as using a real life photo of some object (2D photo) and slapping it to a 3D object. Of course you have to know how to UV edit to make it all match. with UV it's not a simple process depending on what you are modeling. Now in this case you are making the 2D photo yourself (Drawing it in photoshop or something), so when your done just save the image as a PNG and import it as a texture in to your scene. It also varies depending on what 3D app you use.
I guess the simplest uv editor is in blender you just have to select the mesh hit U and select smart uv project then drag n drop the image touv editor and map it
@@amit8961 true, that's why I love blender. However UV editing itself is not an easy thing to do for beginners. And it could be harder if you're working on a complex mesh. I would recommend that new people start with blender, but Maya's is still industry standard when it comes to a lot of professional improved features and work flow.
Questions for Q&A: Do you plan to make a full detailed animation course in the near future? (I would buy it) When you shoot video with actors for rotoscoping in 24fps and then convert it to 8-12fps, do you need to overwrite voice? In case if characters talk. How long it took you to make Sensations?
So your short film inspired me to make one too... Now I'm working on a short animated 2d/3d film.. Keep making those videos and teaching me a lot... thanks man!
Nice! Ha, I just received my Microsoft Surface today to I can start my 2D frame-by-frame animations (thanks to Olof being an inspiration) 😆 Best of luck with your 3D work I hope your new PC smashes those renders out :)
I've used projection mapping a lot but when I saw this come together my jaw genuinely dropped. It suits your style so well and comes out perfectly. While not for the Q&A, I just wanted to ask what size canvas you draw on, as mine tend to seem a bit pixelated. Thank you for the tuts!
I generally found cinema4d community less toxic than autodesk's. Everybody's creating their own unique thing, just like blender, and don't resort to talking about the pristine quality of their path tracer. Thank you for this walkthrough.
Q&A: Do you make a storyboard before you make your films. And if you do what is your process when you're making your story board? do you go in a lot of details? how much of what you make in your storyboard actually transfer to your films ? i'm tired of making really short videos i want to try to make longer films and animation, just creative videos in general but i have no clue how to visually show my story and because i hear a lot of people talking about storyboard i thought it may be a good way to start
You're right! The amount of subscribers is crazy but your work and your effort to achieve that amazing work and more important your generosity that you put these awesome content for free is so much more crazier! 👍👌
For the qna I just only have one question. Why do you have only 40k subs. Your content is so much worth. You should have minimum of 100k-150k subs. I'd say you should have 1M subs. Love your work.
i love your works! you are what i aspire to be honestly. i love 2d animations but at the same time, i'm trying to be great at 3d so watching your videos really do inspire me a lot. so thank you!
Questions for the Q&A video : 1) wait how'd you make the camera move like that? I love that you tell us how but anyway some parts can be more specific? 2) do you use a tablet? 3) on average how long does this all take you?
I'm blown away at the depth of work a mere 8-second animation requires, and the fact that you do all of the visual content yourself. All of the output you create is amazing too. I noticed, however, that you primarily use Photoshop for animating rather than Animate. Why? Also, would you suggest it to beginners in animation such as myself?
I'm Here as always, It would be great you explain how you integrated your textures, I did not understand that part. Don't be amaze by your subscribers you deserve much more, you are doing a nice job
Thanks for this video, it's awesome, bro I feel this subtlety in your creative work. The result of your work gives us inspiration and atmosphere. Thanks 😃😊
Wow, this is awesome! Do you do anything with UV mapping? That's always been my biggest weakness because it's boring and you can get along alright without it.
Blender 2.8 can do all of this and more in one program. It's really good for drawing animations with the improved grease pencil. You can also blend 3d and 2d together without any extra steps. So maybe give it a try?
hey man. i just passing by and saw your vid on my recomendation, your video very inspires me. currently i'm still learning, hope one day i can make animation like that too.. greetings from indonesia
A tip, since you're just using basic geometry you can uv unwrap the whole place and paint that instead on ps or any texture paint software, that way you can move the camera anywhere and don't get stuck on the projection
This was my 1st thought. Second thought, this is a very unique process and we should see how it develops into his own style that isn't easy to mimic or duplicate
Sooo one of your videos got recommended to me on the homepage, then another one and then this one...and I'm in love. Seriously. Your visual art style is amazing. So what would your tip be for someone that can model in 3D but has never done any 2D illustrations? I would love to experiment with 2D&3D but I'm not a great illustrator. Thank you and keep up the fantastic work!
