This tournament, fatality beat trela, kome, komorikiri, Nairo, Kirihara, CaptainZack, and T. Beating 3 players who out-placed him on the PGR v2 and getting to grand finals in one of the biggest tournaments in smash 4 history. Fatality faced off against players he often lost against previously, and in my opinion, he won this tournament for the fans.
Joe Sanchez that's why they played 3 games. To reduce variability. But it doesn't matter because fatality consistently outplayed him for the rest of the set anyway.
I agree it does take an amount of skill to use any character and zack does actually seem like a cool guy. But bayo is actually ridiculous and the set he had with mr r really made me see how busted she is. Mr r was outplaying him almost 100 percent of the set but the few mistakes mr r did zack cheesed him out and stole the w. The kills off the top are harder to do now but witch time is undeniably the most broken thing a smash game has seen. And people didn't want her to be nerfed LUL
At the end of the day Fatality had to put much more effort to beating Zack than vice versa. Props to Fatality for doing an amazing performance you deserve it more than these other players who prefer to get top 8 the easy way with lame ass characters
ubadman1 I was attacking bayo players I should've been more broad cause this top 8 was great. I personally believe they like bayo because that's the easy way to get to the top just like Ice Climbers in melee. But too bad a character can't win you tournaments, only your fundamentals can win you tournaments
I liked it when Zack actually made a respectful farewell sign to the crowd after losing to Dabuz, would fully respect him had he kept that composure here. I mean, I know it sucks to SD twice in a set, but come on. If you're gonna taunt and bring salt to the opponent over every possible detail, at least get over your own fuck ups.
Nothing, but considering he taunts both in the game and IRL in every set he wins, it would've been good to see him hold the L and stay loyal to his gag even after a loss like this. To see that he did it with Dabuz but not with Fatality leads me to believe that he's salty over his loss to him.

Seriously everyone, the hate has to stop. Zack is a young dude that has grown in a very competitive scene. He just has a lot of personality, not trying to be horrible. Trust me, I'm happy a Captain Falcon player won, but no need to bully the kid. That's very cowardly and reflects negatively on us as a community.
I'm happy to see a Falcon player defy the odds of a tier list very convincingly! Proof that determination in learning your character inside and out, as well as sticking with it during all matchups side by side, gets you the chance of win. And win he deserved. Great work, Fatality!

He literally stats silent and doesn't move a muscle or bother looking at the crowd when he looses, but when he wins a game last hit, he flips his hair and winks at the crowd. Sorry, but if I was fatality, I would've done the esam and draw a horizontal line across my neck with my thumb and then do falcon's "C'MON!" Taunt. Then we'll see how he feels.

I guess I was just mad at the fact that he's good 😂 After Genesis 4 and the incident with Komo, I was very salty torwards Zack and was very thick skulled. I love how people will say bayo is op when there is video evidence directly above Thier comment about how to sdi and di her combo game. people are so dumb they can't even recognize good play against a bayo because they are so blind by their hate. fatality played amazingly well. while Zach didn't play his best fatality contributes a lot to that. great set. getting top 8 here was almost the same as winning almost any other event.
Zack enrages players to make them play overly aggressive. Meanwhile fatality is so aggressive it has no effect. Zack was so scared he had multiple SDs as bayo
At Clutch City Clash in 2016 Fatality lost to Zack. This match he came way prepared for how Bayo works. If you watch them side by side, you can see the difference

Vinson Games bayo mains don't see it as that much in her favor at high level original falcon and fox were thought to be free for her but the reality is falcon grab game and both fox and falcon have much better frame data it can overwhelm her as long as they don't blindly through out buttons
ubadman1 No, Bayo beat both of them 60/40. Bayo is too safe on block and they both don't have any good projectile. Fatality just beat Zack, but the match up is still awful for Falcon

Osiris197 Actually each of the character you named has notable weakness. Samus hitbox and rolls, kirbys light and lack of range, shulks frame data, etc just light Bayonetta who lacks start up. But the thing with Bayonetta is that her strengths compensates. Honestly the only nerf Bayo needs is that up b. Give it less hitstun so connecting with up air is a 50/50 instead of being a combo and give it more end lag so that up b to side b would have a smaller combo range. Witch Time isn't as powerful as you think. It's punishable like all other counters and can be baited. You also can't spam it on whiff because it can be staked unlike other counters.
Even so, character's strengths comes from what they can do in their own game. The character's you've mentioned like Diddy, Marth, and Fox doesn't have the movesets that came from their own game because of their own genre. Well they do, but mostly they were original. Especially Fox. Fox has never shown to be fighting, but his movesets made him into a combat fighter. Someone like Ryu is the perfect example for my argument. Having moves that can be buffered to combo into another, especially one as strong as True Shoryuken. Samus has the move pool that came from her own game, but they didn't give her all these crazy stuff from her original game. Smash 4 has 4 special buttons, so they used what she had in her earlier games since she was in smash since 1998. If you played the original samus game, you can see why those are the movesets chosen for Smash 4 instead of what she can do now, because of the original smash. They did made Shulk powerful like in his game, they just added in a weakness for him that is very exploitable such as his frame data. Same for Bayonetta, but the difference is that even though Bayonetta has noticeable weakness which is frame data and end lag, her other tools compensates that. We would have been better off with someone like K Rool who I don't want, but he obviously wouldn't be toxic because he'll be combo food because of what he is. It won't make sense to have K Rool as small as ZSS lol. You have to look at how the character may work in the game before voting for them. Issac would have been a good choice, K Rool would have been decent, even shovel knight wouldn't have been broken. Bayonetta however, she is made for the combat style. Taking that away wouldn't make her Bayonetta since that is what she is known for. Sakurai doesn't want to include any character that takes away anything unique to them. Even though the smash community didn't know Bayonetta would have been broken, they should have looked into her a bit more. Like Witch Time, c'mon? Have you guys ever thought about Witch Time in Bayonetta 2 and go like "hey, how would witch time work in smash?" It will work like it does in her own damn game, except it'll be broken when it's in smash. Similar thing can be said with Shulk, but with shulk, it's impossible to turn back time in game since both players can actually alter what they can do. Another thing, I don't get how you can say Bayonetta carries a player. Why is it that Zack is the only Bayonetta in top 5 at Civil War? Yea Zack was irrelevent before Bayo, but players play better with the right character in their hand. Who would ZeRo be if he stayed with Fox instead of Sheik and Diddy? Who would Nairo be if he stayed with DPit and Robin instead of ZSS? Switching over to another character can improve your results because they fit your style of play better. ZeRo can't go from being already the best with Diddy, and dominating using Bayonetta. He'll actually play worse if he put in the time with Bayonetta. The proof is that ZeRo has a Cloud. He has been playing Cloud for awhile, and everytime he brings a Cloud in bracket, it gets bodied. The point is that there is no character in smash that carries people, not even super pre patch bayonetta. The Bayonetta with results out of nowhere with pre patch bayo like Tyroy, 9B, Salem, Saj, PinkFresh, and Captain Zack, are literally getting the same or even better results with post patch bayo then pre patch. Especially Tyroy since he beaten Abadango 3-0. Darkshad, Zinoto, Hyuga, etc. Now lets look at his post bayo record. Pre patch, Tyroy couldn't beat Ally or Esam. Post patch, he beaten them. Esam however, his pre patch bayo lost to Esam's Pikachu, but after bayonetta nerf, Tyroy didn't use Bayo against Esam, but MK and beaten him which is proof that he has skills and knowledge with the need of Bayonetta. He also picked Bayonetta back up and defeated Ally twice. The point I'm making is that you can't get carried. You have to have knowledge on the game to utilize her properly. Am I saying she's not broken, well I wouldn't say she's broken, but extremely powerful. What's broken is something like Hoo Hah, pre patch sheik, and pre patch bayo.
I feel terrible saying this, but... I think I like Cashmere's Falcon better. After watching Cashmere, this match looks like it's going in slow motion. I hate saying it, because Fatality has a lot of skill, way more than I'll ever have, and he's probably the better Falcon than Cash, but when it comes down to which player I'd rather watch, Cashmere is likely to have a more exciting game, win or lose.
Zack is slowly becoming my favorite player. Props to him for making it far in a tournament full of killers. I hope the hate doesn't get to him. Bayo is hype for me. I can understand the bashing she gets in the context of this game. I'm used to that sort of broken stuff though, coming from older Capcom games before getting into Smash. It's in the game, so why not use it? Lolol. Now, if three or four Bayos were running amok and getting top 5 placings all the time, then I'd probably be hating too. But in this current state? Things are fiiiiiiiineeeee.
That's pretty much how I feel about Bayo and a few of the other top tiers. Someone is bound to the best, and to have busted stuff. So I can't get upset at that. In fact, like the case with Bayo, I find it exciting. I do get annoyed at character over-saturation, though. Luckily that doesn't happen often in this game. We were on the verge of having three Rosalinas in top 8. I would have not looked forward to that, lmao.
