First T gets himself into the Top 96, then the Top 32, then the Top 8, and now he's made it into the Top 3! Using none other than the Legendary hero of Hyrule, Link!! T is an absolute beast!!!
Well as a Link main you should know that "For glory link" stands for those guys that only spam projectiles, roll from one corner of the stage to the other, and are most likely to have a laggy connection. Just because you play for glory doesn't make you a typical for glory Link. Unless you fit the description above, in which case... fuck you to hell ;P
A lot of people initially complained that only ONE person from the Top 10 made it to Top 8, but honestly the way this turned out was even better! Not only do we get to see top players compete in crews, but we also get to see lesser known players fight on the big stage...I mean a freaking captain falcon and a Link?! That's just Insane! :O ...Hopefully since Zero won Civil War Crew Battles, that might make up for his terrible "upset"! ;) EDIT: THE SECOND PARAGRAPH IS A JOKE! (at least until crew battles finishes...)
OMG guys...I didn't spoil crap! It was a joke... Everyone has been saying Team Zero is probably going to win, As I write this comment THE CREW BATTLE IS STILL GOING ON!!!! Sorry for the confusion...noone has won yet!
so many from japan with this characters nobody expected to make it that far (shulk, expand dong, link, and even esam with samus and fatality making it this far) and im sitting here waiting for some misterious roy player that shakes a tournament or at least makes it to winners cuarters
I was so torn watching this set. I'm a Link main and a hugr fan of T, but I also really like Fatality and he was doing so well this tournement. Both are such under rated players, it was really great to see them shine.
I've never seen Fatality so flustered. The first 30 seconds of game one he was playing like his usual self, but everything afterwards was like watching a different Falcon.
*sigh* Sad I missed this whole tournament and have already read the results before watching the VODS. Still, it's cool seeing all these lesser known players getting to shine in the spot light. This one in particular was amazing.
Tachyon Lion Link IS good lol, in fact, all the MUs T had to face in top 32 weren't bad. Rosa is 50:50, Dabuz is just godlike and played the Link MU perfectly. T would not have done as well if he had to fight Void/Mr. R since Sheik is by far Link's worst MU (though he still was able to beat K9).
Can somebody tell me how T tether grabs the ledge while still holding on to the bomb? I've never really dug deep into advance Link techniques for this game.
I used to play on For Glory but not anymore. I tend to find better opponents by going to various twitch streams and playing either them or other viewers. I also have been in a few tournaments and me and my friends often play at each others houses to get better...
As a Link player, T is the epitome of everything I *try* to do. Heck, he even uses the same skin as me. Watching him play has really gotten me motivated and inspired :) I got myself a new favourite player to watch now I gotta say tho, some of those combos only worked due to unfamiliarity, and it showed. But it's something people don't ever pick up on no matter how many times you beat them, so I guess it's fine..?
+Jian Ling Lim It's fine for low level opponents, but if you want to do well in tournaments, its all about the mix ups. High level players wont keep falling for it if its the only thing you do, so you have to trick them into thinking you'll do the combo again, and then hit them with a punish. Once they expect the punish, they wont try to dodge the original combo so you can hit it again. Smash 4 is a lot of mind games, and mix ups help catch people unprepared. So don't forget to learn those mix ups!
Jian Ling Lim SAME I've been a Link since day 1 but I'm still mediocre compared to top level players hopefully we can be as good as T someday that man is the very definition of what a Link Main should aim to do while also learning new tricks
ALright, sorry for my lack of knowledge (I just discover this amazing SSMB pro scene) ANd I have a really hard time understanding the tournaments. Wth is losers finals and winner finals and grand finals? Which one is better? How do you get either side? Wth are pools? Please!
Let's start with what winners and losers finals and grand finals are. Everyone starts on the winners side of a bracket. If you win a match in winners side, you continue through winners side. If you lose in winners side, if the tournament is double elimination, you're sent to losers bracket. If you lose in losers bracket, you're out of the tournament. Now, when the last two players left in the winners bracket meet, that's called the winners final. The loser of that match is sent to the losers final automatically, in the losers bracket. When there are only two players left in the losers bracket, that's the losers final. The winner of losers finals plays against the player in winners finals, and that's Grand Finals, the final match of the tournament. The player in losers side has to take 2 sets in a row off of the player in winners finals to win the tournament, while the player in winners side only has to win one set. Bracket pools are used for larger tournaments. They are essentially mini brackets, except without a grand finals. Depending on the tournament, a specific number of players make it out of pools. For example, if 3 players are allowed to make it out, then generally the winner of winners finals makes it out, the loser of winners finals makes it out, and the winner of losers finals makes it out. It can get kind of confusing. Then the player on the winners side is placed in winners side of either another pool, or winners side of the main tournament (Like top 96) and the other two players are placed in the losers bracket of either pools or the main tournament. Hope this helps! :D
Yes!! Thank you so much! It was really confusing to watch players that lost in winners finals go all the way to grand finals in some tournaments. I thought that it rewarded the loser more but I see that it really doesn't. Damn, that's a really cool and interesting format. It can make some tournaments really exciting with comebacks from great players and tough matches if there are upsets and whatnot
true falcons is worse, the up b has more mobility and is faster though, he also has a better double jump and a wall jump and a side b that he can use to recover. neither have great recoveries
