@@NeptuneNB That was pretty unnecessarily rude. :/ What's up with all you smash 4 players hating zero just because he was the best at that game? I don't see anyone complaining that leo is winning in ultimate. Were smash 4 players just losers?
Leo!!! Winning for his family such a humble and talented kid. That SDI on the up smash was super clutch, I was on the edge of my seat watching that set. Glad he stayed MK the entire set. Leo putting the MK back in MKLeo. This was one of the best grand finals I've seen this year, along with Frostbite this year and GTX
Man, Zero vs Mkleo in grand finals tells a totally different story than Zero vs Salem in GF. A lot more hype and enjoyable to watch. Good stuffs for both of them and congratulations Leo!
This set and the one before were such a joy to watch, the mind blowing level of footsies both players were doing along with their adaptation was incredible, Leo had some of the most ruthless chases once he started understanding how ZeRo operates in disadvantage and ZeRo would bring it back by employing calm positioning to get grabs and push advantage. Was on the edge of my seat the entire time and I'm happy to see sm4sh be as incredible as it currently is! Thanks so much for everything 2GG and Champ the hero! Excited for the future of sm4sh... In ZeRo's own words during medals: "Yo Smash 4 it's SO FUCKING DOPE!"
Look at ZeRo downtilting the opposite side after power shielding Leo's Dtilts from behind. He does them in advance expecting rolls even when they weren't there. They constantly swipe at each other's patterns like this during the 2 sets. It's super cool to analyze.
12:15 damn I was so mad lol. Leo actually had already killed ZeRo but he ends up saving him, getting 2 barrels to the face and inmediately getting up-smashed and killed for it. I inmediately thought "Leo might lose the tournament for this", but luckily he ended up winning the match anyways, I would have been sooooo mad otherwise.
All from the MVG. As it was expected. Can't say the same about the other team. Anyways, the two GFs were amazing. Leo, Zero whoever winning was truly enjoyable to watch.
This is what we love to see in Sm4sh. Two titans battling it out to the best of their ability with crazy combos and reads without any ridiculous early kills, and just so awesome to see the exciting atmosphere of the crowd and the sportsmanship of both players, so great.
Top3 plays of the tournament: 1) MkLeo destroys Salem 2) Elegant's run all the way from Last Chance Qualifier feat. all his popoffs 3) WaDi proposes Cinnpie
14:25 Did Leo seriously just do a perfect pivot dash attack? That's insanely difficult to do in the heat of battle while being very subtle to the average viewer.
Lowkey ZeRo got robbed because of this game's hitbox nonsense. It was like grabbing a slippery fish, and it slipped out his hand back into the sea. But I'm team Echo.
T. S. Alekk Who knows it could've been SDI, or it just didn't connect fully. Seems like when people bring it up they get pissy like I roasted their favorite super hero.
T. S. Alekk I just said I'm team Echo lol. Been a MK main since day 1. It's just sometimes this game does weird stuff that've cost me stocks in the past. Also I never liked ZeRo.
Steffen Geisler He won only 2 S tiers. With relatively small prize pools. This season Leo won the 2 events with the biggest prize pools in Smash 4 history.
such an intense match, it literally could've gone either way, i think Zero, and Leo are tied equally best in the world at this point...if not Leo is definitely second on his merry way to be ranked #1
Zero is like the Usain Bolt of Smash 4. He will eventually retire but the legacy he will leave behind will affect the Smash scene years to come. Props to MkLeo though. He is definetly 2nd in my opinion.
I think MKLeo should be 3rd imo because it would be too harsh to take him out of top 3 with all this momentum he's been bringing. He was what 3 set wins against ZeRo this PGR, 2 S Tiers and a few other A and B tiers. Not as much as what Salem had, but then again, MKLeo's current momentum should not drop him 2 or more places down the rankings.
@Hanwei CHONG Calm your fanboy salt; it's entertaining to see underdogs take games on more reputed players in any field. When ZeRo loses it's always an upset. Use your head before you cry about "negativity."
People acted like Mkleo was alone but Salem was coaching and M2k was too (Twitter and facebook) But it doesn't matter about coaching for me, the set was hype as hell
You are kind of right. Not because ZeRo is the champion of Smash 4, because that would be kind of like cheating, but because he was the first seat of the tournament due to the points won at the sagas.
Salem has more wins this season but Leo, at this point, is slightly better than Salem. In terms of raw skill, ZeRo > Leo > Salem > Nairo (even though he didn't do well this tournament) > Tweek (possibly interchangeable with Nairo, a little less consistent though) > Larry Lurr > Dabuz
In terms of raw skill Leo, ZeRo and Ally are at the same level in my opinion. Ally's mind is just not in the right place, but he is skillfull af, when his mind is on the right place he is outright the best. Nairo, Salem and Tweek go after. Then Dabuz. Then Larry, KEN, Shuton, Choco, Marss, Elegant, WaDi and Trela. Kirihara, VoiD, Mr.R, Komo, Aba, ESAM, Fatality and some other players might be in that skill level too, they surely were at some point, as well as ANTi, Zinoto, Ranai, Kameme, etc. were in 2016 or Locus and Zack in early 2017.
ZombieFlopcario last week I would have an argument but considering mkleo walked through Salem twice this tourney i know mkleo is definitely second at least. Best swordsman in smash 4
It's hard to say who would be #2. Now that Leo has a good counter pick against ZeRo, and Leo has the favour set count against Salem, I would put my money on MkLeo on being #2. But Salem has won 3 Tier events, stole 2 tournaments from ZeRo, and has a amazing bayo reads.
Salem will be most definitely beat Leo in the PGR. His results are just superior, 2 S tiers, 1 S+, his lowest placing is 9th, Salem's results are just amazing, I really don't know why ZeRo is so sure he will beat Salem.
Leo es único, no existe jugador tan bueno, tan inteligente y con tanto reflejo como el. Ese men se merece cada centavo que a ganado en los torneo, tiene unos nervios de acero y a penas es un chavito. Mis respetos para el
How are these tournaments arranged? Honestly I can't figure out what the correct order to watch the videos in to follow the correct sequence of the matches...anyone care to help?
I really like MKLeo and he played exceptionally well, but I noticed he really likes to roll behind people as Meta Knight and either D-Tilt their shield or go for a grab. Is that option ridiculously safe? Or did ZeRo just not punish that?
ZeRo did punish it a few times but reacting to hits on shield by down-tilting in front of him in advance, the first few times he did it too fast but he did manage to get some grabs on Leo's rolls afterwards and heavy damage. So it's not entirely safe.
BigMiityClaws Oh well It would be pretty funny if it was top comment and people would be like "is this a troll?" then they watch the set and they'd come back and say "dammit why'd you spoil it"
I still wonder why Mkleo used meta knight against zero's diddy kong. In my opinion diddy kong wins the MU. I think MKleo's meta knight was a perfect MU for zero's play style, especially with all the tech chase. Both played amazing. Big zero fan but no salt here. Congrats Leo.
It's exactly for that. It's the same reason he uses MK against KEN. Those are really not good MUs for MK; but ZeRo's and KEN's playstyle is perfect for MK to punish. Since they rely a lot into reseting neutral and basically betting on each interaction to rack as much % as they can when they win MK is just perfect to combat that since when he does win the interaction (and it's basically a 50/50 situation since MK's, Diddy's and Sonic frame date is very similar) he usually gets more % and a lot more kill potential. Zinoto or MVD would probably do much better against Leo's MK because that's not their playstyle.
This type of high-level playing is amazing. To be able to not just play character matchups but character to player matchups. It's like they already know the MU to perfection they just have to pick a character that matches up with the opponent's play style . And yes MVD or zinoto would probably do better against Leo's MK.
+Yame it's actually crazy. He uses Cloud vs Void, Marth vs Mr.R, MK vs Javi and even Corrin vs Kameme's Sheik. But that's also just because that's admitedly one of the MUs Leo has the hardest time with.
Oley ole ole oLeo lol!! Props to both players, but MK Leo earned this one; Numero Uno in my book. Lol I loved his reaction too! SUCH a hype Grand Finals!!!
Looking at this gameplay now after playing and watching so much Ultimate it looks so slow. When this game was still going I used to watch old Brawl matches and feel the same way lol. New games can really change how you view old ones.
ZeRo had already played against Leo. He lost. When you lose you go to losers bracket. In loser bracket you play again against the other players that have already lost too. Leo never lost so he stayed in winners bracket waiting to play against the winner of the losers bracket. ZeRo won the losers bracket and played Leo in Grand Finals. But Leo was still in losers bracket, for ZeRo to win the tournament he had to put Leo on losers bracket first and then win again. Leo only had to win once because ZeRo was alreayd in losers bracket.
