I was so bummed out when I found metal in the oil. Tried to stay motivated and just keep pushing. Still not sure why or where it came from. Big thanks to Randall at Precision for dropping everything and working non stop to get my engine sorted and back to me in such a short time. The journey to get this car back on track was a lot longer than expected.

@@VS666 If you know anything about how shops work now, especially dealers, they don't machine engines. Whole drivetrains are just bought new and hardly anything is being rebuilt short of a race engine. Only guys keeping machine shops open are hobbyists.

Hi Ryan, just want to say thanks for bringing your Motorsport life to RU-vid. I found your channel and I'm hooked on the way you deliver your content and who you are...a down to earth, humble and cool individual. Your demeanor is just prefect for this type of content. Thanks for showing us the different shops and their Automotive Engineering Prowess. I am also loving the fact that you show us everything and not too scared to work on your car by yourself and take us along for the ride to learn with you. I've been looking at your older videos liking all of them as I go. You know a video is great when you are left in awe and be like damn, that's so sick, you're motivated to work on your own car or you smile at the video...Wish I could subscribe more to raise the subs. Let's go bay bay! Wish you all the best DUUUUUDEEEEE!

Make sure you put an inline oil filter on as well if you're going to be hitting high-Gs like that ... and make sure you're using the right oil (Driven XP9) and use a good break-in oil first (Driven Break-In) for the first 100 miles. That machine shop sounds great otherwise .... profilometer and Ra control is proper stuff.
@RyanTuerck
@RyanTuerck Год назад
Absolutely, I added an Oberg inline filter on top of the pre filter just to be as safe as possible. So it filter pre engine and post engine.
@sirAE86
@sirAE86 Год назад
No car break-in, I don't know if you hesitate, I think so, obviously the engines break down afterwards. New engine and reaches limiter? You want to break it again.
@RyanTuerck
@RyanTuerck Год назад
Calm down. We didn’t show the entire two days of engine break in with multiple heat cycles.
@sirAE86
@sirAE86 Год назад
@@RyanTuerck I'm super calm, it just annoys me to see people explaining what they're doing and then teaching them the wrong things. When a person goes to overhaul an engine he won't know what to do and will break it. RU-vid has a lot of potential, but they are used badly. Two days? Minimum 1000km, running the car at low revs, warming it up gradually at first, turning it off? What did you do exactly? Two days is just to turn it on. All the tolerances of the rings, bearings, you have also rectified, it is a new engine, it will need at least 1000km to run in properly. At first it will start to consume oil, it will have less power, the engine has just been born. And we're not just talking about hours in a break-in, but about kilometres, the engine has to go for kilometres, it has to be under a bit of effort, it has to feel the weight of the car, it's all a succession of things. Speed in doing things is never good. Then all the more reason that it is a supercharged engine, it must be treated with care.

@mal3762
@mal3762 Год назад
@@toxicmasculinity7870 nah this is a newer chassis, the original FRS comp car chassis was totaled mid season, so he swapped everything into his former street 2JZ FRS and made it his comp car till the end of the season, then sold it to JDM Supreme Restoration for funds into the Formula Supra as he was already driving for Papadakis Racing in the Corolla hatchback. This was the salvaged chassis he bought when he was doing simple rally build with Chris Forsberg. He put this together with the spare engine that he had and leftover parts from his FRS comp/street car, thus why you can see the NAMELESS performance bits.
