This road makes Trail Ridge Road in the RMNP look like a picnic.

I think so too! This road is not for the faint of heart.

I remember when I lived in Colorado and I went to my cousin's wedding in Georgetown...I I saw signs about that road and from Georgetown, I wasn't that far from it. Right after the wedding, I drove up it and, believe me, it WAS a drive worth taking. Absolutely beautiful, beautiful!

Breathtaking! This would be terrifying for me to drive, but I'm glad I was able to see it through your video. Amazing job as always! I liked the commentary at the end. Gave it a touch of personalization.

Thank you! I think I might do more of those here in the future. Also, yes this road isn’t for everyone. It’s definitely worth the trip if you choose to make it however.

Yeah, I liked the commentary at the end as well. It's good to have voiceover while you show all your pictures since previously there wasn't any sound.

Simply amazing and awesome video of Mount Evans Scenic Byway. It is simply breathtaking at 14,130 feet that you can look out and see so many other peaks and US 285. I've never been here or to Rocky Mountain National Park (US 34) but I hope to so see some day. Colorado in the Rocky Mountains never disappoints! Thank you Kyle for a great video and pictures and I think Pikes Peak does have more steeper curves than Mount Evans which is steep at the summit coming down but it gradually falls in elevation. Both have narrow roads in spots too.

Trees start spperaring on the side of road at the 16:52 mark in the form of the stunted pine, then the big one at 17:01!

Have been on this road a few times in my life, once on vacation and then another time related to the Bob Cook Memorial Hill Climb, yep, made it all the way to the top back in 2004, where has the time gone? That said, enjoyed the commentary afterward because it really helps to put the road in context which, in part, is the experience you had as a driver. Don't know if that's a standard for every video (i.e., I-355 around Chicago) but for those that are a cut above the attention is warranted. Also gives a space to feature the still photos you've taken, which are always good to see. Well done Kyle, keep up the good work so guys like me can live vicariously through your trips.

Those are some killer views in your photos!! I would be driving up and down that road by myself because other folks in the vehicle would make me nervous and not concentrate.

Thank you! I'm glad I drove this alone. Very few people I know would be willing to drive or much less be a passenger for this ride lol.

With the steep drop offs and lack of road edge markers driving a snow plow there has to be an extreme pucker factor job. This road is on my bucket list.

Stunningly beautiful! Reminds me of the drive up Pikes Peak but perhaps the views here are even better 😁
@InterstateKyle
@InterstateKyle Год назад
I think the views of the mountains are better on Mount Evans because Pikes Peak is a tall mountain that isn't surrounded by other tall mountains unlike Mount Evans, which is right in the middle of the Front Range.

I know the views at the summit is breath taking despite the drive up to it- & esp downhill with the lack of guard rails. In case you're wondering BTW, the highest paved road in the world is Karakoram Highway- which at Khunjerab Pass is at 4,693 meters- or 15,529 ft.
@InterstateKyle

The views are even better in person, believe me!

@@InterstateKyle I was there once, along with Pikes Peak (top of both.) Was to Estes Park but didn't get to go any further. You do a great job with your videos, coming about as close as one can to capturing the majesty of the mountains. Like you said however, you can't replace being there in person! (they look WWAAAYYYY bigger then you think they would if you've never seen a "big mountain" before)

As much as I hate to admit it, I have never driven Mt Evans. It's not that I've never had the desire to, it's because I really have never had the occasion to... If that makes any sense. Pikes peak? Hundreds of times (I even have some recent downhill footage to edit), but Evans is kind of off the beaten path in a manner of speaking... Someday... Someday. It's #1 on the ol' Bucket list, but the ol' bucket is getting rusty! 🤣
