Both songs hit the spot! At the time of this video, she was rising, and the temperature was near 103 degrees. That golden glow of the evening sun looks so peaceful for some reason.

The interesting thing is how the superstructures holding up the signs differ here from all other highways in the metro area, Loop highways and Interstates, except for those holding the electronic signs.

I grew up in Phoenix, I remember when it was basically the I-10 and Black Canyon (I-17) and of course Grand Ave (60) made a lot of trips on Grand Ave on my way to Vegas, then moved to Vegas, so a lot of trips back! Kinda funny I was just reading about the Freeway system in Phoenix, some prominent people fought bring freeways to the Valley of Sun, for many years. That’s why the Freeway system is so new in Phoenix. Most of them were built from the late 80’s to 2010’s! Plus they are always updating and adding to them.

@@keriddunk1520Well the first time for a Job in construction! Second time, 99-08! My high school sweetheart after we both divorced. She was the one I probably should’ve married the first time. She’s in Killeen TX now, I’ve lived in Houston for two years, so there’s no way I’d move to Texas again 😁But I think of her all the time!!😎

Kudos to them having a well painted Freeway as well...Unlike here growing up in the Provo-Orem Area of Utah where we live in a Stunningly Beautiful and Gorgeous Area but where well painted roads are a Luxury!

I'm glad they expanded the 202 loop making traffic not seem as bad especially in the western parts of the Phoenix Metro Area. Last time I was in Phoenix (January 2020) traffic wasn't too bad grant it was over MLK weekend and in March 2019, traffic in Phoenix was horrible rush hour traffic, snow birds, tourists all add to the traffic and MLB Spring Training was happening then. With the addition of the 202 loop probably less traffic in Downtown Phoenix and West Phoenix now.

In 1985 when the propositions for the freeway projects were voted on. There was a shortfall in funding. So this stretch from I-10 to I-10 and the Loop-303 (But Maricopa County started building this road) were shelved. It wasn't until the proposition was extended in the mid 2000s I think to have this section completed.

I somehow managed not to know about this freeway until some time last year when I picked up a Doordash order in Ahwatukee and the GPS sent me the long way around to south-central Phoenix, around the western end of South Mountain. Considering all the surface streets that were closed near the dropoff address, it would have been faster to go the old route to the east.

& so our time in Phoenix ends with the newest freeway in the state- & for once ADOT actually properly numbered it in terms of milage! It on to Tucson now! PS, just noticed you're featuring the video speed now like OG Road Warrior Freeway Jim. It's a nice addition heading forward.
