More advanced wax cylinder phonographs were developed after 1913. This system used celluloid cylinders and a diamond stylus. These cylinders were 4 minutes long and louder than previous wax cylinders. B. Lillquist explains the Amberola 30 player and demonstrates its use with a comedy song from the 1910s "When I Get You Alone Tonight". The 4 minute cylinder record player is part of the "Amberola" line meant to compete with Victor's "Victrolas" while the records themselves were "Blue Amberol".
