The girl who is singing is named Bom. She has 1 of the most unique voices in Kpop history. You can always recognize her voice immediately in every songs. The blueprint of how Rose of Blackpink is forced to sing like Bom by YG.

CL is the Leader and Main Rapper, Minzy is the Maknae(Youngest) & Main Dancer, sub Rapper...Bom (your were right) is the main Vocalist And Dara is the Visual..they've since all gone solo but still get along like sisters...they broke so many barriers too many to list seriously

Kpop groups have a thing called the 7 year curse which is because generally they only sign 7 year deals/contracts..and most don't last beyond that (fans hold their breath around at the 6th year in which rumors fly of breakups and disbanding) unfortunately as successful as 2ne1 was they fell victim to it also....but us Blackjacks have their music and happy memories which will last 4ever (OT4)

Due to reforms in Korean laws during the beginning of 2nd gen K-POP, the Korean Government standardized the artist contract for debut, which mandates a 7 year initial contract. The reforms gave the artists better terms (contract length and pay percentage) and came about due to contract scandals involving 1st gen K-POP groups. Due to the standardized 7 year initial contract, companies are able to conduct better long term planning on newer group creation. Which also may impact contract renewals of the company's current groups. Budget and scandal concerns really start impacting a groups potential for renewal at the 6th and 7th year mark.

You made that statement about your opinion of autotune. Because of that I suggest you check out their song Come Back Home. Do the music video version first. Then do the acoustic version. If/when you check out CL I suggest you start with Post Up. It's short, sweet and strong. But you can't go wrong starting with any of her songs. By the way if you're a Black Eyed Peas fan then you need to check out their song Dopeness ft. CL.

I know it’s best to check out the official mvs, but sadly most of their mvs don’t have subs, and the lyrics are definitely what makes their songs special, so I hope you can check out their mvs with subs that fans added or check the lyric videos along with the official mvs! looking forward to your videos!

Fun fact - Mamamoo are all huge Blackjacks (2NE1 fans), Especially Hwasa. So much so that on one of the Korean music shows they were promoting at the same time as Park Bom was making her solo comeback after 2NE1's disbandment and at the end of the show all the featured artists come out onto the stage together and Hwasa was so overcome meeting Bom in person she started crying on stage. Mamamoo later competed on (and won) the first season of the Queendom girl group show where Bom was also competing as a soloist. While in the waiting area, the members of Mamamoo put on a 2NE1 song and start singing along, only for Bom, who was in makeup in the next room, to overhear and start singing along with them to their surpise and delight. The stature and influence of 2NE1 in K-Pop cannot be underestimated. As is often mentioned to younger K-Pop fans - 2NE1 are your idols idols.

I got those beats headphones only because of 2NE1. Haha they also released a song for a phone and you bet i bought that phone too lol I'm so glad you're reacting to these magnificent ladies. My ultimate group of all time. They go by both 21 and 2-N-E-1. Their name stands for New Evolution of the 21st century. It's also a play on "to anyone" meaning they're a group that makes music for all.

Tbh, the street ver. might be more fun to me. Btw this is their debut song. That's why OG YG fandom felt little disapoint when Baby Monster debut "Battle up", which isn't wow enough to them, comparing the "Fire" and "Boombayah". These debut songs also change the game since started.

trivia: Bom and Dara are considered old in kpop standards. Minzy too young while CL ain’t that pretty … however, 2EN1 beat all pierce competitions and smash awards after awards … considered to be the best in live performance they are beyond compare even 15 years after … no girl group can ever perform better than 2EN1 in live performance …

Another hifden kpop gem is Midnight Circus by Sunny Hilll. You will dig the helll out of that one. Need to do the official mysic vidro, i would go as far as to call it genuis. Once youve seen the iriginal video, their live performances of the song very fun. Ditto I Am The Best by 2NE1. I always enjoy their live performances of that. Cant gi wrong with CL as a solo either. You can see her charisma and presence in 2NE1 i knew she had a bright solo career ahead of her.

They did not disband, they were involuntarily disbanded by Mr. Yang their CEO. All four members are still active and performing. Suggestion: Watch MAMA 2015 CL and 2NE1. Their live performances are awesome. The one on the bike is CL age 18, the dancer is Minzy age 15, the one with the cards is Bom age 25 and she is the singer, and finally the exotic one is Dara age 25. Try "ComeBack Home" unplugged to hear their vocals clearly.

BigBang and 2NE1 made YG Entertainment. The music they created, established the traditional YG sound and style. The profits they created were used to build the new YG building. Everything they did propelled and established YG Entertainment into being in the "Big Three" of K-POP. From 2nd gen to near the end of 3rd gen, YG Entertainment was considered one of the top three companies in K-POP. During that time period, the number 1 company was SM Entertainment and number 2 & 3 flipped between YG Entertainment and JYP Entertainment. The rise of BTS and the scandals involving YG Entertainment were the reasons YG Entertainment got pushed out of the Big Three. During current times (end of 4th gen and beginning of 5th gen), YG Entertainment is one of the "Big Four" of K-POP. Currently, number 1 is Hybe Labels, number 2 is SM Entertainment, number 3 is JYP Entertainment, and number 4 is YG Entertainment. It is said by k-netizens that BigBang & 2NE1 built the house of YG and Blackpink kept the house of YG from falling into bankruptcy & ruin.

How YG handled 2NE1 towards the end of their contract is one of the big reasons for all the hate towards YG. Korean society has a huge cancel culture mindset which stems from traditional public shaming culture. Fear of this cancel culture greatly effects how a Korean entertainment company reacts to scandals involving their artists. Korea has strict drug and gambling laws, that are more strict than Western (USA + EU) laws. Korean entertainment artists violating these laws are why they are involved in a "scandal", which would be a nothing for Western entertainment artists. From year 6 to 7 of the 2NE1 contract, one of the members became involved in a drug scandal. Since this was the first big scandal at YG Entertainment, it is said that YG didn't know how to handle it and over reacted by trying to make it go away by placing the member on hiatus status until the contract ended. This started the trend at YGE of placing "problem" artists on hiatus as way of getting rid of them. Hence the reason why a lot of netizens initially did not believe the announcement of BM Ahyeon being on hiatus for health reasons and the reason for the rumors that she left YGE.

They didn't disband because they didn't want to perform together, exactly. Minzy wanted to do solo music on the side like Bom and CL and was promised music but never got to, so she kind of was forced to leave in order to be free to do her owm music. There was a scandal with Bom, who was taking/had prescribed medication from the US that was illegal in South Korea and that became a big thing with people calling her a drug addict, etc. YG ended up disbanding the group. They could have weathered it, but YG had Blackpink in the wings and apparently didn't care about the girl group that made them money and successful and broke a ton of records.
