I've been to the most remote villages in certain parts of Africa where they don't even speak English and seen murals of 2pac. That's impact! I remember being in the black lives matter protests in different parts of the world last year, and the crowd going crazy when Changes came on the loud speaker, that's impact! BIG was an amazing rapper, but Pac was on another level entirely.
@@ahmirwatson9531 I Like all 4 of Them. But Biggie Said He Bad like all tha Mike.Tyson-Jordan-Jackson action..Tupac said he Love tha Women like. Prince,Love Women..
Biggie's flow was second to none, but Pac's influence transcends rap. He changed the game, his charisma, intelligence, and confidence made him appear larger than life. There will never be another like Tupac!
There are books written about Pac. His poems and letters are treasured and sell for millions today... People celebrate Pac's birthday and legacy all over the world... That's Greatness for sure...RIP TUPAC... 🙏 🙏 🙏
i will always respect the architects of hip hop salute. I respect and listen biggie and pac no bias. Salute to Melle Mel and those who was in the early foundation of graffiti, rap, dj, breakdancing, rap, and later fashion as added edition to the mix.
PAC ALWAYS SHOWED LUV 2 DA CULTURE!!!💯✊🏼 PAC'S DA GREATER "POET", CUZ MOST THESE OTHER MF'rs JUST GREAT "RAPPERS"... 🤷🏽♂️ #MAKAVELITHEDON 👑🙏🏼 #HIPHOP 🎤🎵🎶
PAC dont get enough credit for his technical skills. He had metaphors, similes, alliteration, syllables rhyme scheme, muti syllables rhyme scheme m, storytelling, wordplay. Each one I just name there's songs examples of. On top of he did it at a high level plus he could freak the flow. Thee 🐐 ! Shout out to Melle Mel
His style was totally original, not like rappers today whose verses all sound alike. I know it’s popular with speaking or singing, but if it’s a such thing, Pac was actually charismatic with his raps, and you rarely see charisma in gangsta/thug rap
He made a great point when he said he heard plenty of rappers that said they wanted to be Pac.. but he never heard anyone say they want to be the next Biggie
Biggie changed the landscape. Bad Boy changed NYC hip hop forever! No one was rapping that high fashion rap before Biggie and Bad Boy. I think he changed the game more than anyone (thx for puffy’s vision) but it was Big who was a voice. Love this O.G. but I don’t agree with this at all. Everyone wanted to be like BAD BOY after Big came out!
Your absolutely correct and it's because vlad is interested in the money the shock value of having the guest on and not actually caring about what it is they are talking about or who they are talking about where as for art he actually has that same love for pac as us the viewers so he wants the real
Pac has 11 platinum albums. 7 of them were after he passed away. He recorded 150 songs in his final year on earth. He was only 25, that's impact. But I do believe Biggie's legacy is impactful as well.
Pac is more then just hip hop him n biggie are different they want different things in life n what the wanted to represent Pac was for our people biggie just wanted to be the best mc
Songs like Keep Ya Head Up, Brenda’s Got A Baby, Changes, Dear Mama, Pour Out A Little Liquor, Trapped, I Aint Mad At Cha. Life Goes On. C’mon bruhs. 😂😂😂
Pac made that sh** that touched your heart and made you feel him. Stuff you can relate to an also sing along to! Stuff we all have experienced it seen! Real life music! I named my baby after that man! Nobody can take his place as the truest 💯🙏🏾
@@chadwicktyrone8894 most folk minds can only intellectually decipher music...they have to think while they listen...while other folk feel the music...only thing i could feel in Biggie’s music was the beat...his words made me think...that being said, i prefer feeling the song versus thinking about it...music is suppose to make you feel something, awaken or silence something...Pac holds that title
Tupac was able to communicate with a rap that resonated with your mind and soul. One could understand what Pac was saying and his knowledge was evident in the present day and the future. If they had lived it would be great to see the progress of Bigs rapping. I believe that he learned a lot from Tupac when they hung out and vibed together.
U ain’t neva lie !! Pac had tattoos (before it was fashionable), he was in movies , dressed in versace and other fashion clothes, was a G and women loved him and men wanted to be him!! On top of alllll that he was for the people !!!
Accurate assessment. Spot on. Pac was great. Biggie was technically good, but he didn’t change the game. His lyrics were just entertainment shit. Pac was revolutionary, an activist. He had passion.
@jabbar johnsonn he goes another face forward into the pig pin.!! Kool G Ral was freaking better than Biggie.! Thanks but no thanks.. He just was another guy in hip hop a little above pedestrian! He blow up based of of the machine. Puffy Combs. That's very obvious. Dont let the customer in NYC fool ya!! #thetruthaintinyou #andthatorder Simpleton
@jabbar johnsonn Pac first few album's were very political and more underground especially 2pacalypse now and Thug life life volume 1. Strictly for my niggaz political but he threw few party Jam records on there. Pac was doing his own thing and was superstar before he joined Deathrow he had around 2 platinum hit albums and 1 platinum single and 3 hit movies.
@jabbar johnsonn facts.....wasnt til after he got shot that people started seein em as a g.....before that he was that lil nigga that was hypin up the crowd of d.u.
Absolutely! In more ways than one; PAC’s influence was worldwide!!! Biggie’s was within the State of NY…only! Besides the advocacy he led, his potent talent, his poetic masterpieces & his angelic face his charisma and personality propelled him across this nation. In working within education, a lot of my foreign kiddos knew Tupac wholeheartedly and were able to recite his music all while not knowing a morsel of English; it was fascinating. Not to say Biggie wasn’t talented however! 🤷🏾♀️
How? At the time of his death Pac was only worth 200,000 dollars, he spoke great but often times contradicted his word by way of his actions. So what about his mind says to you that a 25 year old worth 200,000 who owned nothing (record label, his own publishing or masters) and still owed both interscope and death row money for bail while still facing a rape charge in 1996 would have been a billionaire today in 2021?
@@RyccoLamar Its a paradox to even think about it. 2pac was too wild for old age. A lot of people forget that he was a lot more famous world wide after/because of his death. I love 2pac but reality would not have been good for him even if he had of survived that night. He would have ended up in jail with Suge. He may have lost his rape case and ended up in prison even longer than Suge. Who knows if 2pac had the ability to become a billionaire after all that but it was never going to end that way. 2pacs wild ass knew it.
But Biggie died after his 2nd album. If Tupac died after his second album he would have died after Stricktly 4 my Niggaz. At that time he was a lot less influential then when he dropped his next albums.
I listen to many of Biggies records and say to myself not only was that clever word play but what he said was very powerful and thought provoking. Tupac had more compassion Biggie had a comedic approach to a serious situation. Biggie wasn't just entertaining, he was mesmerizing.
Thanks player biggie was the greatest I been listening to rap a long time and there's no way that any that listening to rap can honestly say that Tupac was biggie level is speaking with there Heart not their mind because there's no way
@@MrTsmooth12 it’s different categories with rap best flow most charisma realest stories .. I agree Big had better flow but Pac was greater … Nas was better with the flow than Big was
Biggie had songs about suicide, stress, struggle, the feeling of being inferior etc. to say Biggie’s music lacked substance or that all he did was “talk shit” is absurd.

Pac was a song writer with conceptual ideas. It's the major difference between artists and rappers. Artists create but rappers just rap and talk shit. Today we have a lot of rappers and few artists.
@@rasheemthebestfirstone3274 is would ignore that nigga. Pun was a rapper. He wasn't an artist. Artists are people like Pac, Nas,Eminem, j.cole ,Dmx people like that. I wouldn't even call Jay z an artist. He's moreso a rapper but he's exceptional at it 💯. Most of his songs don't really have concepts to them. He brags a lot but it sounds well.
Pac is the greatest based on worldwide influence and content. He was the most diverse rapper with worldwide appeal. The music he made is way more timeless than most. Definitely more timeless than any other rapper. He spoke on things that people are still dealing with to this day. 1 album can have a song that appealed to everyone. That was the magic of Pac. That guy could speak to anyone. You know how difficult that is to do? The only rappers now that might come close to be able to do that are Kendrick and J Cole. Coincidentally, both of them were heavily influenced by Pac.
Big Pun and Big L are way better than Pac They get no love though Lyrical gods Pac definitely influential and all that but you'll never hear him discussed as one of the best bar for bar lyrically
I'm from Africa, country Nigeria to be precise, and biggie is respected here by a good number of states. But everywhere in Nigeria, and all African countries see Pac as a god! His pictures and murals are in every African country, Google pac pictures and murals in Africa, and see your self. Pac is up there with Bob Marley Mandela and legendary freedom fighters. Biggie rapped and that's it. Pac touched souls in a way no one can. Just peep the song "who do you believe in"... biggie couldn't invoke any emotions like that.
You’re comparing an artist with multiple albums to an artist with 2 albums. The fact that BIG is even seen as the better rapper is an indicator to how talented he was.
See that’s wrong don’t do that cuz you know Pac wasn’t confronted and he didn’t say it’s just rap he told nas y he dissed him and they settled it don’t make up ur own story lol
I still don’t like how people ignore the fact that 2Pac song representing 93 was a freestyle I think they need to listen to his earlier music to understand his range and the way he can be so multifaceted when it comes to rhyming.
This is nothing new to me. It's not a secret that tupac wasn't the greatest when it comes to freestyles. He 100% did not spit off the top of the Dom on representin 93. His freestyling ability is seen on what is called 'the cure' with snoop in 96.
@theballq the second verse on “Representin’ 93” is a freestyle, he literally says it at the end lol. “Off the head, my freestyle flow/just a couple of motherfuckers that I know, I’m strictly representing.” Saafir, legendary underground MC that used to live with Pac in Oakland said he was one of the hardest off the top. I don’t think we EVER heard a true “freestyle” from B.I.G. (who I do love) as most them bars he spit would pop up multiple times in his rhymes and the old school definition of freestyling was different in Cali and New York...
Biggie only had 2 albums , died after his first one...Biggie influenced a lot of affluent business thinking in hip hop, he touched on social issues, "Every Day Struggle" "Things done changed" you can't say he was just a sh*t talker, I do agree that Tupac had a bigger social/Political/Musical impact, but what was said about Biggie is not entirely fair..he passed after just one album, 2Pac had 4 albums before he passed, plus he already had his trial and error moments from Digital underground to perfecting his craft on Me against the world....for Biggie to even be compared to Tupac after just dropping one album says a lot about how good he was
On top of that, one of the reasons regular people feel closer to Pac is because of his background and some of the specific issues he touched on. His mama was a activist, his daddy was a activist, his auntie was a activist and he spent a lot of his youth around activists who gave him the knowledge to speak on. BIG was a street dude and for many, the topics he touched on were not relatable thus it’s ignored as just lyrics. PAC went to The School of the Arts, which is one of the most decorated schools in Maryland and I would never assume he’s more intelligent than BIG based on just listening to their music or hearing them speak. But solely based off of their musical talent (rap lyricism), BIG was more talented IMO. One more thing, personality means alot in how someone is perceived and I think because Pac was such a big personality and BIG was more laid back, people tend to be biased, typically towards the big personality.
BIGGIE HAD 6 ALBUM' S BUT IT'S WASN'T ALL IN HIS NAME, BECAUSE PUFFY OWNED HIS PUBLISHING , BIGGIE COULDN'T PUT THOSE ALBUMS IN HIS NAME , HE PUT MOST OF THE ALBUM'S IN JUNIOR MAFIA' S NAMES & LIL KIM NAME AS WELL.
Biggie had 3 albums cuz life after death was a double album. Pac recorded far more music than biggie in the same amount of time, which says a lot abou t pac and not biggie
Biggie had 3 albums cuz life after death was a double album. Pac recorded far more music than biggie in the same amount of time, which says a lot abou t pac and not biggie
I wouldn't go as so far to say that Biggie didn't have any substance. He was simply telling his story from his experiences as a young, Black Man. Remember, Big was only 24 when he died. His life experiences up until that point were limited to Women, money, drugs, and struggle. What else do expect most 24 year-olds to talk about?
@@rolliemosley I’m not biased either. Big was objectively a better rapper. It’s like if you wanna compare two point guards. Pacs game/style was good, solid, proven formula and all that but it’s like comparing Rondo to Kyrie Irving. Bigs handles flow and breath control is super clean, superb and unmatched. Pac has songs you rewind cause they were good songs overall but the actual lyrics are straight forward... Biggie made you rewind his BARS a few times before you even finish the song and he still made good songs too
Biggie had the greatest rapping skill ever period. The voice, the FLOW, the story telling. But he’s strictly one of the hip hop goats. Tupac was bigger than hip hop, he was a movement, he was realism, he was the truth, he was the greatest influence, he was hip hop itself, with his energy and passion. He’d expose the shit outta all the corruption thru his raps. Not only did Tupac make classics, but he was able to literally change the world with the realism he incorporated into his music. He was a real poet. A goat in so many categories.
Biggie wasn’t even better than Nas at that time, nor Rakim, or Big Pun. He just had some hit records and was hyped up because he was the only NY rapper at the time with the record sales and numbers of the Death Row rappers back then. He was considered the King of NY because he was the top dog sales wise in NY, not skill wise
I'd have to agree with Melle Mel on this one. Biggie is my boy and there's no denying his greatness as an mc and the fact that he put out 2 5 mic albums, but not only did Tupac get better after every album he did, he influenced different types of people from different cultures because of his revolutionary roots and street knowledge. Tupac shifted the consciousness of people because of different subject matter of songs he had and Tupac was also a good MC. As good as Biggie was an MC, he wasn't as well rounded as Tupac was and Tupac had more impact musically. I remember in NY I would debate this all the time because most people from NY don't want to accept this, but there are a lot of people in NY that will admit this too even though Biggie was considered the King of NY.
Very good points. I agree. People sometimes don’t realize the meaning of greatness. This is also why most would say MJ is the greatest (and he is), even if LeBron is better all around.
It’s more rappers running around now claiming they don’t write which is influenced from BIG. What Pac had to strive to get better at Biggie was great out the gate. What folks give credit to PAC for was unfortunately denied to BIG! No telling the growth or direction Biggie would’ve gone to.
@@WinstonbndmkdkmzmmsmskeskStoke I don't agree that Pac struggled to be great at what BIG was already good at. Pac made a deliberate decision not to put his artistry in a box. He was more willing to take risks and explore areas where most other rappers (including BIG) were scared to go. And in Pac's judgement, nothing, not even "lyricism" will get in his way of exploring these ideas. It is way more difficult to be philosophical and a pure lyricist at the same time.
@@richardterungwakombol6406 Pac wasn’t just philosophical folks like to glorify that aspect of his music. Pac was an artist, but he attended school to cultivate those talents. Biggie crafted lyrics off the top of his dome instantaneous. Some individuals are naturally gifted at a craft. Plus BIG could write for other individuals that never probably touched a mic and it would be fire whether male or female. Not trying to compare the two just not for the slander of The Notorious B.I.G. . Folks don’t know what music would’ve came from Big so the argument based off two albums is hilarious.
@@WinstonbndmkdkmzmmsmskeskStoke Remember that the age difference between both is 1year. So this 2 album argument doesn't add up. You also make it seem like BIG had some magical talent, we know he had a middle class basic education. As Pac showed in 25years, if BIG had anything else to offer he could have.
I’ve been listening to all Eyez on me for years and still find something new every time I play that album pac touched the soul biggie was just a great rapper
All eyez on me is also very futuristic that album could’ve of been released in 1999 or 2000 and still sold as much if not more copies ..it really changed the rap game
I loved the style of RHYMES & that beat & rhythm HIT DIFFERENT WAY B4 FOLKS THAT SAY JUST THIS EXACTLY 💯 SAY TODAY IN MODERN TIMES OF HIP HOP RAP. SUCH A RAW DUDE. HE MADE THE TOPIC HOT OR RELEVANT WHEN HE SPOKE ABOUT WHEN HE STEPS IN THE CLUB MF BE LIKE BLING!! WAY B4 THAT SONG DRIP OUT OF LIK WAYNE MOUTH ! HE NEVER MADE A TRACK TO THE HOOK/ WHAT NOT BUT HE SPARKED THE FLOSSING OF THE TYPES OF WORD PLAY AND TOPICS SUBJECTS ETC!!
Pac don't need no rhymes to flow. Even if a 3 year old scribbled some disjointed words on paper, give pac a good beat and he'll flow with the utmost dexterity. Now that's genius.
Melle mel is hip hop in case yall didnt know 2pac will last until the end of time people talk more about pac than prince, Michael Jackson, and so on. Makaveli lives on
Don't know what fuckin planet you live on but people been talking about Prince and Mike since the 60's. Pac wasn't even born for the next 11 years!!!!!! Smh
#Lol, Michael over Pac!! I respect and love all opinions. Michael Jackson more legendry than Pac. The GOAT of singing, but still better than both Pac and Prince. Loving the honesty though , much love and respect for ALL THE POSITIVE VIEWS.#. #Christpopher Wallace 2 aka Finnis Don King# ✝️☦️🔥
Sometimes great is so great it cannot be duplicated or followed. Biggie wasn't talented, he was gifted. Biggie's flow and ability to put words together was unique and skillful. No one has ever been able to match his raps.
Pac has murals all over the world and even in small villages in Africa where there are no tvs, Biggie dont. And Neither does Jay-Z, Eminem, or Snoop. It just shows who had and still has more of an impact.
It’s the truth biggie was inspiring as far as rap music and a good rapper - yes , but that’s as far as it goes . The guys body of work just a fraction of Pacs in the time line and it’s not just about that Pac was thuggin , his bars are like no other . And the persona etc ....guy was truly inspiring outside rap 💯 The All time 🐐
pure facts. im glad an OG finally said this on a known platform. Biggie had a better “flow” on tracks than Pac, but that was it. nothin about him was special. he didnt make anyone want to be him. Pac influenced Wayne, No Limit Records, Pimp C, TI, Jeezy, 50, Em, Kendrick, Lucci, Boosie ect ..folk literally nickname themselves & their albums after Tupac. cmon man 😂💯🔥
Biggie 1.)Untertainmenet (co-owner label) 2.) Brooklyn Mint (clothing) before sean john. Before phat farm before rocawear 3.) Uh add libs before foxy before jay z 4.) Coogi sweaters (re-brought em back) 5.) Singing 4 bars inbetween verses
Facts!!! You could even argue that the beef helped Biggies career because he was beefing with someone who was more well known. Here in South Africa we could tell you EVERY Tupac song there is but Biggie's music(with a smaller catalogue) is not so well known. I also wanna trash this thing that Pac wasn't a top lyricists because on "me against the world" HE SHOWS UP where as on his later albums he was probably just in a rush to get out of his Death row contract and it was all about speed at that point.
@@philanimanqele8987 So true bro, I love Big's music too but when you bring up some of his music in your circle nobody knows what you're talking about.
2pac was like a revolutionary, for me and the guys we could easily relate to what he was saying even though we weren't deep hiphop fans but 2pac was there for us, cant say the same with Biggie
@93 Cobra That man played a huge role in getting himself killed. He made choices and they set off a chain of events that played a part in his death. 1. 1994 Quad shooting: You telling me an entire studio of producers and rappers didn't know what was about to happen or after the fact what happened? Could Tupac's best friend not reach out to him? 2. Who shot ya? : Your boy gets shot and that's the song you put out? 3. Subliminally dissing Tupac on Sway. All seems like pretty bad ideas to me.
There are murals of Tupac in obscure places here in New Zealand. Over here Tupac is in the same category as Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan and others. Don't really hear or see Biggies presence here in New Zealand 🤷♂️
Nah: I disagree. Biggie made statements too. He was very social-political in "Every Day Struggle." I'm seein' body after body and our mayor Giuliani Ain't tryin' to see no black man turn to John Gotti. Here, Biggie was talking about the "Three Strikes" laws in New York, that was sending black men to prison for life, and stricter gun laws. So I disagree. '
TODAY, Im sure Pac would have become an actor at the level of Will Smith with a little record label on the side. Biggie would have had a RU-vid Channel like Snoop dog with a little clothing line on the side. I truly believe that. Also, 2Pac's Twitter would have been more interesting that Biggies, thata for sure!
Lol BIG was making his own record label and clothing, plus BIG ain't have all the drama pac had. Pac would've been broke for a while with lawyer fees and his debt to suge
And this is coming from a NY HIP HOP LEGEND who sparked the careers of many Hip Hop Icons! His song The Message changed rap forever and has to be the #1 rap song of all time.......
He's wrong biggie had everyone trying to copy the mainstream badboy era videos including nas and jayz. Also pac heard biggies songs on easy mo bee production and wanted him as a producer.
