Alright Ellis? I own the Bob57 and absolutely love it. Recently (last couple flights) it seems to have a slight lean to the left. It still handles fine and I’ve been able to fly it, but it’s weird as it’s just started to happen recently, and I don’t want anything to happen when I’m out over water or whatever. Have you got any idea what it might be? It’s literally just a slight pull to the left? I have zero knowledge of builds / Betaflight etc other than the initial bind and set up so any ideas would be really appreciated and really needed. Cheers ;)

Are you flying in angle or horizon mode? If so calibrate your accelerometer…but if you actually want good footage, learn to fly acro mode asap.

@@seanmetzger4780 nah of course not. I learn to fly manual on my Avata about a year ago and then bought a proper quad. I haven’t even set up switches to allow horizon mode coz it defeats the point of spending best part of a grand getting set up with Bob and Crossfire.
@haroldofkernow9279
@haroldofkernow9279 5 месяцев назад
I’m properly loving the Bob recently, and still am now, and it still is handling fine also. It’s just got a slight list the left upon take off and whenever cruising. It’s minimal and is easy to counter, but coz I don’t know about building quads and stuff I worry is it a problem that is likely to get worse, and what is causing it. In my head I’m imagine that I’ll be out over the water or something and will loose a motor and it’ll go down n that’ll be that over. I’ve been considering getting a 5 inch to add to the fleet so may start to think about the Afterburner now. I looked on some of your footage. I originally thought about getting the LR Explorer that you have, but I don’t think that’s what I need now. Check out some of my footage if you want as there’s some sick locations around my way. And it’s been really cold but really clear last week, after about 2 months or gales and rain so been out sending it loads…

@haroldofkernow9279 Have you figured ot out already? I would recommend checking whether the fc is mounted on an angle and properly softmounted. Then putting the quad on an even surface and calibrating accelerometer in Betaflight. Just in case the camera is tilted to the side consider aligning that too.😂

I do have a degree in radio electronics and this way of just wiring together the two antennas was new to me. Normally you would need some sort of combining electronics but I guess why this works is that the O3 has RX/TX combiners on both antenna connectors that can accept the full TX power filtering the signals efficiently. Strange but interesting!

Good balanced review as always :) Looks like iFlight/2Raw have simply taken the same old components from the Nazgul/Evoque series and wrapped them up in a beefed-up Chris Rosser style frame ... for a mere $675 without an RX!!! Like the Helion it's got props in view for O3-only flights so it limits options for some pilots who might not want to carry a GoPro. Don't see much innovation aside from the good stock tune from 2Raw. With the limited battery-carrying space and prop-size I'd say it's more of a freestyle tank than a mid-range cinematic machine. Footage looks good ... jello/vibe-free. Nice to see the sun out over the Pembrokeshire estuaries again ;)

If you hold it sideways to the speedybee master 5 you will find it is a pretty close size. The wheel base is only 16mm smaller. It actually weighs more than the speedybee master 5. I wish we would say these comparisons if we are going to start to compare we need to add actual specs. My conclusion they should have not added a 03 unit unless they were going to take the props out of the FPV camera view. I think they should offer a streched X version to make this happen. I have been working on the perfect drone myself and in the market for a good truss style frame. But this is to heavy for me. I will stick with my Cheat Code drone for cinematic, long range and light freestyle. I have a AOS UL5 with 16x16 motor mounts and Supernova motors with tmotor pro2 stack & 55 amp esc blheli32. Goes 140 mph 7-8 mins on freestyle flights 9-10 mins on cinematic flights. Weight without a battery is actually 375. Thats what I call a Cheat Code Drone.

O3 out of view, please, and for those who say it dont natter cuz u use gopro anyway, no. I use o3 both as backup and for slowmo when i use lower frame rate on gopro. Its enough for many customers.

@@Kingsleyfpv And i think iflight electronic is shit overall. Stayed away for a few years now though after i had so many fc's fail, maybe qc is better now. Okay, when 2Raw send out a drone for review by someone like yourself with almost 50,000 subs, they should ABSOLUTELY be sending their best product. The fact that you found a loose motor wire and "a couple of other defects" means to me that I will NOT be buying this drone, and I will definitely think twice about other products from 2Raw!. Too bad really. Such a simple thing to make sure the products going out the door are up to snuff - regardless of the development stage. I have done a few reviews myself (hundreds? on another channel) and I get it. There is always a pressure to make the products look and preform well in the review - especially when you are being paid/reimbursed or even just on pro bono deals. I really appreciate your honesty and transparency along with your very thorough review (as always). For now, I will keep looking for a replacement alternative to my DJI FPV drone. Which just keeps flying and flying and flying... Without issue. Except maybe that it wont fly above 500m.. (pretty limiting for mountain surfing!)

@@seanmetzger4780 it actually looks to be a collaboration between iFlight and 2Raw. Either way, regardless of the maker, I will wait for some time proven reviews of this quad before I buy... There are far too many quads in this category on the market from the past year or two for me to risk putting that much money into something that I have to make sure the soldering and wiring is done correctly on. Presumably these 'pre-builts' are for people without the skills or interest in building their own. They shouldn't have to worry about manufacture's defects... Just my thoughts though.. I do like the looks, and as a tool it does have a market, if anything the silly pricing will make it appeal to cinematographer's more but for us mere mortals I would suggest buying a race drone and giving it a cinematic tune, maybe even a throttle cut (mines at 80%), drop the "R" and call it a chase drone...

Interesting quad with some unique design choices. My main complaint is the bottom slung battery, landing on any rocks is going to put a lot of abuse on lipos. Its not a basher but damn that does not look crashable at all. Maybe Im dumb but isnt one positive of having two antennas is so you could orient them to cover nulls? I try to mount my air unit antennas either at 45 or 90 degrees for better directional coverage. For a cinematic drone I think vtx signal coverage would be important.

Myself I picked up a DJI FPV drone only on eBay for £179 and rebuilt the thing onto a strong crash resistant frame of my own, works nicely so much so that I bought another DJI FPV for similar price, can’t go wrong really, at least the gimble tilts the camera up and down and you get all the nice flight/safety features. What gets me is why more people don’t do the same, lazy I guess, it’s cheaper than buying DJI 03 camera just by itself and you get all them drone electronics too, bit like whole used cars and individual parts really. And also, if one wants you can mod the battery to fly longer and further. Any case don’t know what price they will want for that thing you have, looks nice, but would need waterproofing a bit for rainy weather, frankly though I prefer just cutting my own frames from aluminium sheets makes bashes cheaper to fix. Oh, do you have source code for the DJI products old chap, would be handy together with schematics, or does one need to grab one of them DJI product designers and extract a confession from them by way of a good old dungeon and standard garage tools.

Don’t want to get into making mod videos myself no time for it, but if you type: MoppelMat DJI FPV (they censor full links here nasty types that they are) into utube search you can see basically what this guy did using carbon fibre instead of aluminium although he changed the motor/props too. So, some people are modding them, just up to your own imagination and effort put in as to how good the end job will look like. If you're handy with tools then easy. Layout of electronics you can alter too all depends how much time you want to spend on it. Any case that link should give you a few ideas. @@JoshHenriques I see, that makes sense. I guess I have never seen it before because I have always used an nd with my o3. Thank you

Yea was no ND that day. It was not planned to be final footage however weather was against me and I did not have many choices.

So you do a review, make a video... you are a beta tester... you report back to them with improvements or to correct flaws. They should let you keep the Quad. 😋

- O3 in that frame is useless - Battery on the bottom - will damage the battery during landing and fails - weight, that drone is not light, the same as others - only gopro/osmo action could be installed, bigger cameras are not suits Can perfect flight out of the box is good but what the point?🤷‍♂️ Thanks iflight for the experiments and collaboration.❤

People have run bottom slung lipos for the better part of a decade. Learn to land, put a carbon plate on the strap and damage outside of a crash is minimal. And if you crash a top mounted frame, they generally hit battery first and eject it. Frankly I’d rather a bottom slung, they eject batteries far less, and crashing ruins lipos regardless of where it’s mounted

I bought this drone and the tune on it is very loose and it has a lot of propwash compared to all BNF drones I flew. I regret getting it honestly and BlHeli is not accessible since I guess it has a beta BF4.5 firmware or something.

Several out of hundreds of others is definitely not the norm. If you’re being picky not “unique” but definitely not the norm.

03 with props in view….pointless. Design clues taken from DJI potato. Sorry but I just don’t see the point.

Same. Looks more like a racer or FS than cinematic. I detest props taking the shot. And I see jello in the camera shot (zoom in).

If you don't record with the O3, which is what would actually be pointless with a 5", then it doesn't really matter. The flight performance is better, it's actually a very nice quad, not perfect of course
@MindRiderFPV
@MindRiderFPV 5 месяцев назад
Why pointless with a 5”? That’s the whole purpose of the O3/4K. Can’t be $450 better. I am all for innovation and creativity, but how’s an X frame with props in view innovative or cinematic? Compact for sure, but also hard to work on.
@milfordkd
@milfordkd 5 месяцев назад
@@MindRiderFPV because you're not using this for filming with the O3, you'd want something else for that. It's not the compact size that makes it better, although that's kinda nice. It's the better flight performance from having a lower moment on inertia than basically any other 5". I've been flying it for about 6 months and it's really good. The convenience of bottomless mounted battery, and having the GoPro rear screen free to use without a battery in the way are both way better for filming work. Taking off from random places is also better with the bottom mounted battery. Top speed is higher because of the aerodynamics, but yeah the flight performance is really great

@milfordkd bottomless mounted battery?!😂 no that is terrible when you land..... ALLWAYS put you at a 45⁰ sbecause of the bottom mounted battery😢 that was my LEAST fav part of having a bottom mounted bat.... ALWAYS had to prop it up just right so it dint fall over before arming!
