Looking to get into a collection. What is your current favorite drive? I am interested in PS2 era and backward. This looks like a good one, but looks like you had some hesitation with some sections.

hmm now im curious since the ps1 game you tested did have the sound, do the rest of the ps1 collection have the proper sound files? if it does then this would actually be a good starting point collection at that price

From my limited experience PSX games with full audio are generally 300mb in size. This thing has 1500 PSX games, so if all of them had full audio it would take up about 450gb or approximately 25% of the capacity of its 2tb hard drive. It's possible they are all full audio but doubtful in my opinion. A quick look at its PSX folder, setting the view option to details, and sorting them by file size would solve this question.

❓🤨Great video Drew. I recently just got a cheap dell optiplex gaming build and I ordered one of those hard drives. I know it won’t run the newer stuff, but I plan to upgrade one day. I think it uses Launchbox. Is it easy to change the setting like to low or 720p in Launchbox? I’m just thinking for the newer stuff to see if I can get anything going. I’m realistic about performance but a little hopeful that I can get some stuff playable. Thanks.

Yes it's fairly easy and lots of videos and write ups handling the software... For your computer I would think about putting a graphics card into it

@@drewtalks🙏😎thanks for replying. It has one, not a very powerful one, it’s a Amd Radeon rx 550 4gb and an Intel core i7 processor 16 gb ram. How much emulation will that do on low settings? I don’t need the 60fps just playable. Any thoughts? 🤨

@@drewtalksJust to add to my previous comment. I am a retro gamer primarily. Was hoping to play up to GameCube, 3ds. PS2. Don’t care about First person shooters like Fortnite. An occasional stutter doesn’t bother me as long as it’s playable. 😎🎮

I used one of these 2Tb drives to make my Emudeck build. Just copied the ROMS I wanted. Then I can either play handheld or plug it in to the TV and it smokes this box.

Yes, yes and yes. These hard drive systems are loaded with arcade classics. It is under MAME. In fact, it is probably almost every arcade game you played and a 1800 more on top of that. It has almost every system from the 70s 80s and 90s and early 2000s. Even low end PCs will run MAME. Nothing like an arcade with unlimited quarters.

Commodore 64 and the Amiga games are games most of us are not familiar with? Absolutely inaccurate. I had both systems. The c64 sold more than any other single computer model so tons of people will remember those games.
