Thanks for the tips, I'm doing it this weekend on a 22 Yukon 3.0 when I do my oil change. I figure every 15k is probably worthwhile as the filters aren't expensive. Good tip on the guy below who said that the O-ring he received was a different size.
my dealer wanted $200 to change the filter on my 2020 GMC 1500.I bought the filter from them for $40,so they wanted $160 labor to change, it took me about 10 minutes to change.
Due to inflation continuing. I called my local shop and they quoted $250. So about $200 in labor for maybe 5-10min worth of work. I’m in the wrong business
@@GilbertGardens Just one fill up in a remote part of the cascades in Oregon. Had to drain water 4 times though. No stalls, hiccups … but I did let the dealer look it over and replace the filter :(
Have changed mine on my 3.0 Duramax 3 times already with no problems. Went to change it this time and I can’t get the plastic housing off to save my life. It’s extremely tight. Idk if I didn’t lubricate the o ring enough or I overtightened it. But I can’t get it off. Have tried socket and just rounding off the nut. Filter wrench, strap wrench. Nothing is working. It will not budge at all. Any tips for getting it off?
i ordered the ac fuel filter kit , it arrived a couple of days ago, but the smaller o ring looks smaller then the videos, and it is black and looks a lot thinner then the one in the video. havent changed it yet.
Ok guys got it fixed yesterday. So the bigger O-ring that came with the filter from Amazon oem gm part was thinner diameter than the original factory so when primed sprayed and leaked. So I had no choice but to reuse the older o ring which was thicker and sealed right up. I'm thinking when you change out yours compare the two. I might just pay the extra bucks and get from my local dealer 😤
Hi, thanks for sharing the video. I see your truck is inside the garage. Do you have a bigger garage? I want to buy a GMC Sierra 1500 diesel, but worrying it won't fit in my garage.
I have the same truck as your father in law which is on the video going to change the fuel filter this afternoon. I noticed his mirrors look to be off a 3/4 ton where did he get those I pull a lot of trailers and whatnot.
Leased is a different contract. Try the dealership. If they give you shit. Ask for the specific part in the paper work that days all warranty is void if..
Just picked up my 3.0, SLT and love it. On an unrelated topic would like to know about the tonneau cover on the truck. Been having difficulty finding one compatible with the 2022, 6.6 bed with the multifunction tailgate. Would appreciate info on the brand and fit on your father-in-laws truck. Thanks (new subscriber)
I just got the Tonno Pro Lo Roll for mine. Same spec as you have mentioned and generally works great, price is low and has lifetime warranty. Only minor issue is the extendable handle to climb into the bed touches the tonneau rail but still opens and locks into place.
Just changed fuel filter on my 2021 chevy 3.0. Can you reuse the diesel that drains out of the filter. Use a new catch pan so it was clean. Not a lot of diesel, just asking.
Sorry Fellas, Forgot to record clearing the fuel filter meter on the truck. Straight forward in the settings! Post if you have any issues. Thanks for supporting the channel!
Wouldn’t mind hearing your thoughts comparing the GM and Ram diesels. And thoughts on the undercarriage of each. I suspect the frame will show rust on the GM before the Ram with that wax coated frame.
Thanks for putting this video I find out there is 0-20- 100% synthetic Amsoil for 3.0 Duramax engine. I would like to know what you recommend Amsoil dexosD100% synthetic vs acdelco dexosD for engine?? Thanks.
Thanks for your advice I noticed that the0-20 acdelco dexosD every time I change oil with in 2 or 3 days it’s turning really really dark color like black I think I’m going to give it try 0-20Amsoil Diesel 100% synthetic DexosD to check how it’s going to perform it??? And need more information about what kind of Diesel you think is good for Duramax 3.0 in your experience??? Renewable diesel, Disel number two, biodiesel, Highway Diesel or ??? Thanks
@@martinvirabyan1990 honestly all modern diesels dirty the oil up really quick. It has more to do with the EGR pumping shoot back Into the Intake which makes its way back down to the sump.
Is the amsoil your talking about dexos D compatible? I know only of the Mobil ESP and the ac Delco oils being dexos D approved so far let me know thanks.
