I once upon a time, lived out in East Windsor NJ, at a similar apartment complex. The complex I lived at had a similar fire happen when one of the gas dryers would not shut off. Kablooey and the entire building exploded due to so much gas in the building.
I hope and pray people and pets are okay and safe and that the firemen are too thank you firemen for everything you do to keep us safe and warm I love you guys
@@offended9081 we mainly have towers but that ladder is sexy, and that yellow is fantastic, a town in my county ran all orange but that was closest to yellow
This is awesome coverage. If there was an explosion, their lucky it didn’t take out the entire section! Know anyone/group in the Burlington County area that would like to take on this arduous, but oh so informative, task? The newspapers are all owned by Phila entities, that B.C. is left in the dust with this sort of content. The First Responder sights are pretty good at posting, but their job is to RESPOND FIRST, POST LATER. Thank's and Stay Safe keeping us up to date!
Anyone know how the exposure on the right side of the firewall from facing from rear has fire extended to there? It’s looks like extensive fire damage in rear on the side right of fire wall. Were there breaches in wall or connections thru wall to that dwelling ?
To all the critics who graduated high school like a year or 2 ago and have like FIVE minutes of fire scene time under your belt, complaining about a firefighter smoking......like get real. Who cares kids.
Whoever decide to use foam and then water blew that call. Once you use water after foam is applied it just washes it away. When foam is applicable only foam should be used
The Foam is most likely a CAFS system (compressed air foam) its efficient and uses less water, and works on just about any type of fire including keeping an exposure cooled off. Many Depts are having them installed on new orders. First saw it in use about 20 years ago, it was new and innovative back then.
@@shwicksdad Almost no one adds foam to the tank anymore. Can't find anything on "Fire Out", other than a Facebook page, which shows something like spray cans.
CAFS are extremely expensive, take up lots of space, and require a lot of maintenance. They're okay if you're someplace like Arizona with no water, but for most of the US, just a proportioner in the pump is much better.
@@ffjsb Back in the 1980s our fire company used an additive in the booster tank of our pumper called, "Fire Out". It was an additive that helped absorb the heat from a fire and often looked like a soapy coating.
ooooh monroe township was there, always wished i saw more of my town on youtube and stuff, only really see the monroe in gloucester county and not middlesex county
@@shwicksdad yes sir, 57 is from Monroe township in our applegarth school area, the ladder shown at the end is from station 23, one of our career stations (57 is volunteer) although I didn’t see any other 23 units
Oh I know about 23 very well...I was with what became 23 lots of years ago...Way before they built that second house. Back then it was planned to be off Possum Hollow Road.
@@shwicksdad oh I don’t really know much I’m honestly just learning everything I know right now, but the firehouse is down the road from where I live so I grew up seeing it
I agree with your comment but firefighting can be extremely exhausting even for brief periods of time so often the folks that seem to be doing nothing are waiting for an assignment or to replace tired crews.
@@stevemartin3601 No I don’t. I’m retired after 34 as a career firefighter. I also served the community I live in as a volunteer while employed as a full time firefighter/paramedic. The department I worked for employed nearly 100 personnel out of 5 stations running over 7000 calls annually when I retired.
Why does it look like a reunion? Everyone in groups laughing. Standing close to structure. Why not overhaul as they extinguish fire? Looks like recruits in training.
@@jerseyshorefireresponse the thermal camera is awesome. I would've enjoyed being a firefighter but vertigo and fear of heights don't make for a good firefighter
I love how at 3:39, the old fart firefighter is holding a bottle of water AND a lit cigarette on the firegrounds, with O2 tanks everywhere. Not a single person will challenge him about it because, you know..."sonority", but seriously a lit cigarette. Love all First Responders, I get the stress is intense for sure. This one has me at "hhhmmmmm"
It's not O2, it's air. If a 1000 degree fire isn't going to set them off, a lit cigarette isn't. And again it's not oxygen in an airpack hense the name.
The persons "just standing around " are part of a manpower pool. They are there to relieve firefighters who have been in service for a length of time and on a as needed basis.
@@gregggoss2210 that’s understandable the problem is that every firefighter was doing that, even the one holding the hose, I’m gonna be honest I’m still learning more about the fire service so I can’t say much, but it’s just my observation
@@offended9081 could be there was a crew inside and they are one of the old timey depts that believes exterior lines will "push" fire farther into the structure
