Loved this video idea, but I personally would skip getting a facial before vacation. It just makes you more susceptible to the sun meaning increased chance of dark spots/hyperpigmentation.
Idk Hair is number one for me. if my hair isn't vacation ready it's not happening. usually it's getting braids. 2nd is definitely nails I agree there. I dont really have a third but I don't have eyebrows really, I always fill them in myself with make up, so I guess I'll start trying facials. Edit: I saw a comment about waxing/shaving tho and I think thats a fair contender. especially for a summertime vacation with bikinis. 3. Waxing
Yes def need facial, eyebrows, upper lip wax, Brazilian, mani/pedi, eyelashes , cardio for the week leading up to the vacation. I use to do braids but it yanks so much if my hair out so I just go with my natural hair on vacation now.
OMG finally someone recommending products/places where i live 😭😭. My beauty non negotiables are 1. Facial/chemical peel 2. Hair 3. Eyebrows. I like doing my nails
Hmmm… It’s pedicure for me, number 1 must. Maybe a hair cut, maybe not. The rest, sadly… no time, no money! I will definitely make sure I’ve waxed or shaved (or both), and plucked my eyebrows, and tidied my nails. (But, at home. 😢)
For me, taking a shower, cleaning my ears (which I do in the shower) and a haircut is something I'll be doing before my next trip. I also plan to do laundry 1 more time before I take off for a couple days as well.
I cringe seeing people cut their cuticles! I like to gently push mine back with a washcloth at the end of my shower everyday, same look with no risk of infection
Sadly I found out years ago I can't go get my eyebrows done within 2 week of going out of town because I break out. I had to learn the hard way on a few vacations lol the fact you got a facial the same day you got a wax...man you are lucky! Lol
Ladies! Get yourself a one-time purchase of tweezers andmagnifying mirror, a nail file and buffer, face mask and scrub. Save the rest of the money for your badass retirement! Compound interest is waaaaaay sexier LOL
for me it’s: -threaded eyebrows clean-up -armpit wax -mustache wax/thread -manicure & pedicure (The rest is just shave or wax strips on my lower stomach and back 😭)
I have this same problem on my back. I hate it more than anything. My only real insecurity when it comes to my body. What method do you find is better shaving it or waxing? Does the hair grow back stiffer, or darker? Sorry for the weird questions, lol, but I've never seen another girl talking about this. Felt like I was the only one.
For me it’s getting my eyebrows done, my nails & toes done, my hair done. And also showering because baby I love to feel and look good for myself 24/7. ❤😊
if you’re getting your brows done but you have social anxiety, make sure you’re CLEAR about what you want, especially if the brow tech doesn’t check in with you. this is probably common sense, but i know my anxious girls might run into this problem 😭 this happened to me a couple years ago and i ended up with SHORT boxy eyebrows. My brows haven’t grown back the same since, they used to be super long and full :(
The only thing I don’t do before a vacation is the facial cause I plan on going to the spa during vacation 🤗 but yeah basically the same. And if I do get a facial before a vacation, it will be a hydrating one and the one on vacation will have the active acids in it.
For me it's shave my legs, tweeze the worst of my eyebrows, and do an anti-brassiness treatment on my blonde hair! And sometimes nails. My last vacay was hiking in a natl park so no nails for that lol
My 3 beauty maintenance procedures before vacation are nails, wax, and a lash lift with a tint. That way no matter what I’m ready to go and look good. I learned how to just tweeze my eyebrows, and take breaks I between so I don’t go crazy and over tweeze. And I have yet to get a good facial, I don’t know hot to figure out what kind of facial will give the results I want and if it’s worth the money, as opposed to just me cutting out dairy, processed sugar, and red meat a month before vacation, because for me that’s how long it takes for my skin to clear up. And then I just eat whatever on vacation and I usually don’t break out, because it’s still not in my system quite yet. So if anyone has any good facial recommendations, for a clear or glowly look, I would love to hear about it.
Just have to tell you that , some of us woman don't care about other people's opinions . We're happy in the skin we're in !! Especially on a vacation .
Before you even got to the facial part, in the clip where you’re getting your nails done I said “oh you in Chicago!!” 😂 ik Kash/Kychet, she did my nails before. She’s super sweet & talented!!
What about body hair removal? Or a clean mani/pedi? Or tanning products to even out our skin (yes, brown girls benefit alot from it, trust me) ?? Wait, or about our longer hair routines?
If I'm going to a tropical place or a beach, I don't do the facial. The ocean water is naturally exfoliating and so is the sand. A lot of women that surf never shave or wax because of the sand and salt! I also did a pedi before once and regretted it because my feet felt raw after one day of walking the beach. And the tropical weather makes me sweat and clean my pores. Istg I look like I've been to the spa after a full day at the beach.
