As a complete newbie, this is such great advice. I can't believe it took this long to find a video where three such important topics gets adressed.. Great job!
Thank you for verbalizing the accounting for ground reaction. For years, my game developed to try to make shots that would hit and sit, like a high thumbed that just flops....and I can often land right by the pin.....but it rarely just hits and sits. I've known, unconsciously, that I need to take the time to figure out how to backhand approach these wide open approaches... but never had the words to explain to myself what I was doing wrong. Cant wait to get out there and put in the work.
Thanks Scott...its always the short upshots I tend to fluff.. the further I'm away from the pin, the more accurate I tend to be, because I commit to my swing/line more.
My max distance is about 200 feet with a 13 speed driver and a 20 mph tail wind . I average double bogies on every hole regardless the distance. A year age I used to suck real bad .
I find it is not 10-15 mph but 20-25 mph that a putter is going to give me trouble. Then at ~25 mph I switch to an oop Pro Shark and gusts to 35 mph or steady ~30 mph I switch to a now hard to find Star Shark for that. This is the same mold I use for approach to very long approach/very short midrange.
