Hi, here my sounds programmed from scratch on new Sequential Prophet 6 (prototype) in June 2015. No external FX o processing. Many thank's to mr. Felice Manzo from LEMI (Turin, Italy) who gave me to try and test this wonderful synth.
Best demo I have seen. Thanks for taking the time. Just ordered mine today and I am incredibly excited to get it. Sold my Prophet08 the day I heard this thing
+Default Corporation That arp at 4:00 sounds so glorious. Exactly the type of sound i was using the 08 for, but i prefer the sound of the 6. Cant wait. Few more days...
yeah the envelopes are tighter than the ob6. this synth is a bit more focused. sounds like it the low mids would be an area of attention while multi-tracking this synth. either synth would be amazing to have.
Great Demo. I own a P6 and this is one of the best demos online I have seen done. I really love the sound of my P6, but I may have to cheat on it giving the new Modal 008 a spot in my studio. Unfortunately there is no where I can actually demo the very expensive 008, so I may buy it on what I have heard and whats on paper, hoping that it will make a great addition and not be a synth that I come close in sound and functions with my P6. If anyone has had hands on with both synths I would love to get some input.
+Synthopian Productions at the moment i know Modal 008 operating system is still in developement and actually there are some bugs but i haven't tryed one :(
Il P6 è senza dubbio davvero appetibile sotto molteplici aspetti peccato solamente per il prezzo, non è per tutte le tasche ma del resto la qualità si paga. Grazie per aver risposto.
This is the first time that anyone has made any single patches on this keyboard sound good. Some of them are really good. Are they presets, edited patches or new patches?
+Brandon Haru There's a desktop/module one now. maybe it could be paired up with a bigger keyboard. Congrats on the prophet. I ended up not being able to pull the trigger. :( But it's definitely on the top of the list for one day. Luckily for us, Dave doesn't discontinue anything!
+Ronnie Perez He does, Poly evolver gone, and now the mopho, tetra and mono evolvers are also being discontinued. It's sad, I want them all to live forever!!!
+Messiahgames He keeps them alive for a VERY long time though. Like the Prophet series (P8 P12) have been around for ridiculously long. I mean, I guess there has to be an end to everything eventually. That's what ebay is for ;]
Great as always, so whats your take on the synth sonically compared to the P-12, do you think you could achieve that tone w/ the P-12 as well? Thanks Riccardo!
Jon Aschalew thank's Jon. I think the P6 sounds so different from P12 and DSI products as well. The P12 have more and more features but the sound is less "compact". My dream? a P12 with this analog oscillators :)
HatredPrime this VCO's are different from P08 or Evolver analog oscillators. A mean a new product with the P6 VCO's but the P12 features (matrix mod, loopable envelopes, 4 LFO etc...) ...just a dream, by the way.
+Pharelight Wind hi, nothing special...just a M-Audio Profire 610 but on RU-vid all files are compressed in mp3...the integrated audio interface on my mac can do the same result here.
Can you tell us a bit more about the way you got the "zipper" effect on the patch at 3:05. I've done that myself w a Prophet 12 and its loop able envelopes. Modulating the decay time. But I don't think the P6 has loop able envelopes, does it? How'd you program that effect. It's awesome!!!!!
Ron Feinberg ok gents I have the answer for you. If you watch closely he's moving his finger while he's playing. I'm going to assume he's using a ramp LFO waveform to modulate the filter or amp, than using after touch to control the speed of the LFO to create the effect. Could be wrong though.
I love everything that is synth sequence I got used to on software like fruity loops .. just a question. Can I really master these machines in real? thank you
Hi, for my taste (and experience) this kind of synth are born to be played live. They are easy and fun and you can control near every parameter from the panel like old vintage gear.
I can't get past that dark smeared blanket that's over the whole tone. It's like it's about 90% there, but still so far away from that classic analog tone we all love from the past. Everything from DSI seems to have that "almost there" tone. It's as if nobody is willing to admit it. It's got to be the filter.
Your patches are really phenomenal !! But can you please tell us the name of prophet-6 patch file from "synth café". Can't find it. Thank you again. :)
+toliver2054 I bet osc2 is set to low freq though and aftertouch is affecting the pitch and there is a lot of delay added and the high pass filter is keeping it all nice and thin. I am sooo getting this synth or the desktop version when I have sold a few to make room.
I like your opening chord sequence and effect, could you record that for me in a 120bpm 4 chord progression? I would love to use this in making a song!
