In 1969 I was a junior in high school. I started working in a grocery store and my first check went to a Three Dog Night 8 track tape. I had to wait to play it because my 8 track tape player was still in layaway! Good for you Chuck, you beat the odds with God's help!
I'm 67 years old and have always been a Three Dog Night fan. Always will be and listen to the old songs regularly. Best of luck with everything in your life Chuck. ✌
I hope there's no rancour between him and the other 2 Dogs Night - or any of the backup musicians. I saw the other guys at some bar thing about 10 years ago, they were in great shape then. Why aren't the bands albums being given proper remasters and reissues?
Lost my son to fentanyl laced heroin five years ago. I was not a Three Dog Night fan while I was growing up in the 60's but I always loved their song Easy To Be Hard. I was listening to it just the other day on my MP3 player and it was like the song took on a whole new dimension. Everything in this song is perfect: Chuck's amazing voice and the feeling he puts into it, the message, that awesome Hammond organ.
Saw three dog night in Anderson indiana and also saw him at indiana state fair with happy together tour he said you got security some old lady going to come hit me with her cane, I am 74 pretty funny
God bless you Chuck! Back in the latter 60s I was in a US Army cafeteria in Pirmasens, Germany and heard "Easy to be Hard" coming over the speakers. God melted my stony heart through that song. Some might say I am goofy for stating that .... but it happened. Thank you for being a blessing to so many.
I love Chuck Negron and Danny Hutton and Cory Wells and the rest of Three Dog Night. They were the soundtrack to my childhood. There was big in America as the Beatles were. Sold millions of Records and had the greatest songs. Long live Three Dog Night
Soundtrack, indeed! ‘69-‘73, my college yrs parallels their hit yrs… roommate turned me on to TDN’s first 2albums, and Out in the Country-playing on the snack bar juke box-made me homesick!
Chuck is the BEST singer I ever heard in my life . Saw 3DN in the early 90's or so . His voice almost blew my eardrums . I've never been affected by a singer like that ever . Glad he got out of the devil's grasp .
Watching this felt great! I've been sober for over 35 years because of God's grace! Thanks for sharing your story, bro! And thanks for the great music!
God's grace? A load of BS. You were dumb enough to do that crap, now you're dumb enough to lie about it. God doesn't do shit!! Keep your fairy tales to yourself.
@@deecook8393 Not trying to convince you of anything, brotherman. However, I do know that God changed my life when I submitted to Him. The things that were put before me are a testament in themselves, and I feel a sense of peace that NOTHING else in this world could ever match, and I do not deserve it. Must say how interesting it is that you're so righteous and bitter and that you have to attack me and my faith?! Fairy tales to myself? You came to this vid, bro! Sounds like you're looking for answers yourself?!
@@deecook8393 Why so cross? You've never done drugs? If you have, and you aren't among those that struggle with the disease of addiction, i.e. continue to use, in spite of significant consequences, then count yourself, as extremely fortunate. It has absolutely, nothing to do with the intelligence, of an individual. But rather, environmental, emotional/psychological, and genetic factors, manifesting in a person's life. Evidently, your a most angry person, and the pursuit of spirituality, might serve to alleviate, your hostility. Auf wiedersahn
@@bunnybubs757 , they mention something about "eight years later" in reference to his sobriety, which I think was 1990 or '91. That mostly checks out with the book of his I read called "Three Dog Nightmare". Might be difficult to find, it came out 20 or more years ago, but if you can find it, it's a good read. So anyway, yeah, he looks great here, and would've been in about his early to mid '50s.
Chuck's fame and talent took him to hell and back! He is one of the lucky ones, some artist in the 60's didn't make it! The Three Dog Night were one of my favorite bands back in the day!
Great to see Chuck helping on the road to recovery. Hes taken his gift to give to others musicaly and threw a second chance to live life through GOD . And helping others with addiction. Hes on A MISSION FROM GOD 😎
He apparently loves his voice as well. Made sure he took credit for 4 of their number 1 songs within the first few minutes of his interview. Cory was the voice of the band.
We loved "3 Dog Night" and thoroughly brainwashed our children with their music. Thank you Chuck Negron, Danny Hutton and Cory Wells and other members of the band..We played your music in our home regularly. My 58 yo son, today is his BD, just sent this RU-vid to me. So your band made an impression on him. Take care of yourself and may the positive spirits in life be with you always.👍💜✌
in another interview I heard him say he would fly back from Europe to LA to get drugs, then fly back to Europe for the next concert...really amazing he lived thru his addiction...what a great voice I grew up with... a part of many of our lives...
Chuck is pure talent. Good looking and nice man. Met him once coz I worked for an artist that he was working with for that gig. Still sounds the same....
Awesome Chuck. Turning to God is the right way, the right life and lots of love. God loves us all so much. He had better plans for you. God is pouring Blessings upon you.
Love Three Dog Night still listening and drifting back in time to the wonderful seventies at age 67. One of the greatest bands ever. Peace is what we all seek.
Danny Hutton would have never made it without Chuck. Every 3 Dog Night fan knows Chuck's voice. Cory and Chuck were the real voices of 3 Dog Night with Danny being a great augmentation for their sound and having his hit "Black and White." God bless Chuck Negron who is beloved by all 3 Dog Night fans.
great, great voice...chuck has become an inspiration to me...I'm going thru somewhat of a nadir in my own personal life...have a long way to go, but at least I'm conscious of it now...and I think that's a start...whomever u are out there, never give up...
I got to see them in Jupiter Florida and in St.Louis Mo. in the late 90;s early 2000's , it was so good to see one of the great bands from the 70's , The thing about these guys is they had fun , sometimes over the years they were a bit off key , but depending on the amount of Parting we all did , when the Set and Setting was just right , they sounded just like the Long Play Recordings . Love these guys , Went through a lot of Lighters cheering them on . Great beat on the drums and whils each voice was neat and distinct , Man they had Harmony :) QC
Way to go Chuck, happy you got to a point in life where you finally found inner peace. As a teenager I really was heavily into Three Dog Nights music, still am at age 62. You guys created some beautiful music, and 3 of the greatest male singing voices ever in rock and roll music in my opinion. Peace and love bro.
THE >>>> BEST >>>>> BEST 3 SINGERS IN ROCK HISTORY .... .>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> AND ALL IN ONE BAND >>>>>>>>>>>>> NOT EVEN THE BEATLES HAS 3 SINGERS AS GOOD AS 3 DOG NIGHT ,,, IT STILL JUST BOGGLES MY MIND THAT THEY HAD THE 3 BEST SINGERS IN ROCK HISTORY .... U N B E L I E V A B L E ................................
Ed, I agree ,I feel all 3 of these guys had the best singing voices in rock history. I feel they are somewhat unappreciated by the public due to the fact that they didn't write most of their own songs. But that shouldn't matter. They still had fantastic talent and singing voices. I don't think Elvis wrote most of his songs either. Lol. And people appreciate him.
Apart from the fact that they wrote almost none of their songs and weren't the best musicians-they were basically three lead singers/performers with a backup band.
One of the most iconic voices and talented singers the world has ever known. Glad to see he’s got his head completely screwed on straight now. This was done years ago but I am pleased to say Chuck is still in relatively great shape, considering everything he put his body through. He looks nowhere near his age, which is an amazing thing. Everything he said in this video is completely true.
You know Chuck, we all went through it. Some of us made it back, just some, not all. I did listen to you. The one great gift that you have is when you were talking, you have great humility which is a rarity among all men, not just the famous. I am happy that you continue to help others because you are even if they do not show it right away as you well know. Congratulations! Now, you impress me greatly even though I heard your music many years ago.
Saw him three years ago on Long Island N.Y. He was one of about 6 acts in the show. He was hooked up to oxygen but was very good anyway and sang 4 songs. Was back at the same theater this past Saturday night. He was listed as one of the acts to appear in this show as well but he did not show up. There was another act that appeared that was not not listed so they must have agreed to take his place. Nothing was announced about him not appearing which I think was rather odd. Hope he is ok. One of my favorite singers.
I watched Chuck struggle with this disease for years. Am thrilled he experienced a moment of clarity and has experienced God's grace in recovery. He is quite a nice person and has quite a bit to offer newly recovering people. Chuck your seat is paid for brother!!
I found Chuck's autobiography at my local library. It was sad and difficult reading the truth about Chuck's addiction. I love this band and had no idea the hell he went through all those years ago. He shouldn't be here but his destiny was to survive and help other addicts. His book is a must-read for all TDN fans. He is truly a survivor.
A lesson we all should learn. No one, nobody, NOTHING can out do our Lord Jesus Christ! Want peace? Ask Him. Want love? Ask Him. He will provide you with all the things you need. Oh, and then some. We aren't here on earth long. So let's all meet in Heaven and celebrate with peace, love, and share God's love with Him.
I read read Chuck's book....this barely scratches the surface of what he went through. It is truly God's grace that he is still with us. Keep up God's work Chuck.
A big Amen 🙏 Thank you 🙏 For Sharing Your Testimony ! I, grew up, with your music ! Welcome To The Family Of God ! Keep going don’t stop ! Stay bless !
Chuck, I saw you guys at the Miami Pop Festival in Dec. of 1968 - you nailed it So very glad you have gone through this tribulation and come out the other end. I applaud you and am so happy you are back singing again.
Chuck if you are reading this. I think you are awesome for making it..thanks for Jeremiah when i was a 5th grader n had the coolest teacher. LoL..bless u brother.❤
Always loved Three Dog Night. The music, the harmonies were unrivaled in the day. In my last year in junior high school my first band did a Summer Concert with the choir that I was in in that school. Joy to the World was the opening number. Terrific band
Praise God Chuck congratulations man when I heard your story and brought back tears when I went to the same thing not with heavy drugs but I was lost and I needed a Savior in the Lord God was the answer 33 years and still going strong God bless you sir
