The meaning is more the band is on the road. It fits for a soldier overseas from the family. It is a general missing someone/longing for someone kind of song.
Bulwark AC Please like my comment so Billy can react to a song! Either of the ones I mentioned have a good message!!! I’ve been trying to get him to react to these two songs for a long while now! Please give them a chance too!
Brad Arnold stated that the main inspiration for the song was his now ex-wife.[2] Arnold has also explained that the song was written about their lonely nights spent on the road promoting their band and how tough it was to be away from their significant others. "Here Without You" gives the listener a look into the mind of a man that is missing his girlfriend. Arnold explained the story behind the song: "The song's about being away from someone, or missing them. And it really doesn't matter if you're here without them for all day or all month. It's about the loneliness and missing of somebody. But in a way, people take that as a little bit of a sad song, and I kind of meant it as a happy song, because it's talking about being here without you, but she's still with me in my dreams. And tonight, it's only you and me, so the song was really about that dream. And being in a state of peace, because you've got that person there with you in your sleep. In that way I kind of meant for it to be a little bit of a happy song.
This song used to make me cry just after I hit my rock bottom and was in early addiction recovery and all alone. I thank God for Grace and reconciliation with my family
@@Jodie_Tea - They used "One Thing" by Finger Eleven for the HeWhoShallNotBeNamed package. Which had lyrics that were incredibly fitting when it aired, but even more so in a completely different/haunting way not even 24 hrs later.
@@brittbratt101123 i stopped watching soon after eddie died but did watch the tribute to chris benoit as i did know who he was i was so shocked at his death and his poor family
Our subconscious is wild. You hear a song once and forget about it, then years later you hear it and start singing the words like you’ve listened to it a million times .🤣
Lead singer Brad Arnold says he wrote this song with his (now-ex) wife as inspiration. He didn't write it for her - there's a difference. He laughs when he talks about how wrong he was with his declaration of "when the last one falls, when all is said and done." But then, who can possibly predict the future? "The song's just about being away from someone, or missing them," he clarifies. "And it really doesn't matter if you're here without them for all day or all month.
I think you’re right Billy. It goes both ways you said. And it probably can cover anything where someone is missing someone they love, whether they’re dead, split up, temporarily separated for some reason, etc.
I got to spend a couple hours bowling with the Brad (lead singer) through a radio competition. Most down to earth person ever. They are a great band and great people!
This song works quite well as side-along with the Stargate SG-1 episode "100 Days" where Jack is trapped on a distant planet and the team have to find a way to get him home.
3DD is my favorite band!! My best friend and I have seen them live numerous times, including on the VH1 “Best Cruise Ever” from Florida to Grand Cayman back in 2010! We even went on the same excursion with them in Grand Cayman and spoke with them then and on a few other occasions during the cruise. They are so down to earth and really love their fans!! Btw, this song is more about being out on the road touring while the family is still back at home, sort of like Bob Seger’s “Turn the Page” or Journey’s “Faithfully.”
3 Doors Down has a number of songs clearly inspired by being away from loved ones while touring on the road, this is one of those, though it also does the trick of all great art by being applicable far beyond that interpretation. You should do "Loser" by 3 Doors Down and then "Kryptonite" by them as well!
I don't think it's about being in a band on the road and missing his wife, due to the line about "A thousand LIES have made me colder...." maybe he left the woman but she still haunts his memory even tho it's totally over.
A very good reaction to a very haunting melody and lyric. I like when u said this is a real song because the message is true.. I felt the loneliness of the singer was not just real but bittersweet, like a lot of John Lennon songs, like HELP and I'LL BE BACK. very haunting. 3DD is good at music that haunts you nicely
I've heard this song before! I didn't know until I heard the chorus. You should also react to loser by 3 doors down, if you're looking for a hard rock song that's so dark and scary, this is the perfect one.

If you’re doing late 90’s rock, look into Third Eye Blind, Matchbox 20, Dave Matthews Band, Marcy Playground, and some of the one hitters - Wallflowers, Eve 6, Buck Cherry, The Verve Pipe, etc. There were more one hit wonders than repeat bands, but there were some good songs in all that.
Super late to this party but if you ever decide to come back to 3 Doors Down you should check out other songs from The Better Life and Away From The Sun albums. Every single song on these albums could have been major hits for them.
Billy when you said "If you felt love towards towards another person, but the other person doesn't love you the same way" you kinda struck an emotional cord on me and don't worry it is fine I am not mad. You almost made the James the Gemmaker cry right here, which I don't do as often, but thank you for playing this.
Great reaction Billy, I see more 3DD, like a kid in a candy store. ❤ The guys are big military supporters, do many charities with their Better Life Foundation. Keep em coming! 👏
Maybe it’s because I was in a long distance relationship when I first heard this song, but I always saw it as him missing her when they can’t be together, not that they broke up or that she dies
Please do 'for you' by keith urban he sang it on Act of Valor. I have just recently in the last month found your channel and watched all the reaction songs. You keep me laughing.
Check out CNCO they just released a song with Natti Natasha called honey boo and its a vibe. They’re a Latin boyband and the first boyband to have 1 bill views on YT. Natti Natasha is a popular Latin artist too❤️
