This has really given me a newfound appreciation for people that can actually do really complicated tricks and make it look easy. I just printed a balisong and it took me 15 minutes just to get the basic opening down pat!
Try practicing by getting a short charging cable (6in/10cm) and hold the lightning/usb-c/microusb end and try spinning it around your hard without hitting yourself or having it wrap around your finger(s).
On the thumb rollover, you didnt mention that you have to start the trick by holding the knife from the bite handle which is crucial as starting the trick with the safe handle will get you cut
Or you can do a zen rollover just by doing a wrist pass, up to you what you want to do! But I would suggest learning a zen rollover as it's easier to transition to behind the eightball!
Yeah, I was just about to comment that, I have a balisong for training and on one side it’s marked where the sharp side would be, and when I do it, the “sharp” side land on ur hand
dang, i learn thumb rollover on a different vid, so i was wondering why im ending the combo being bit by the blade, so there's a zen rollover huh, i wish that was in the vid. ty bro
as i was trying to practise the combo, i realized that doing the thumb rollover after the basic twirl, just like the instruction from this video would have some of my fingers cut off if i had a real balisong
This is phenomenal. I printed a weighted balisong trainer and wanted to know how to flip it. I am so happy with this tutorial. Thank you so much for breaking this down into easy to do steps!
If anyone is having trouble seeing his movements slowed down, I was having the same issue but just slow the video down in the settings and copy his movements exactly as he does it. Helps to visualise it a lot better
For anyone trying this with a real knife, don't just swing the knife wildly after executing the thumb twirl or you'll cut yourself since the combo ends with you holding the bite handle.
@@stephannoyvirt7625 The combo isn't safe for a 'beginner tricks' video, it doesn't disclose that the blade does rocket towards your hand. Though in future, I recommend practicing with a training blade.
☝️🤓 Blue spy actually says "He could even be..." right before his head gets blown up by Blue Soldier. When the Red Spy, who is disguised as Blue Scout, reveals himself he says "... right behind you.", completing the Blue Spy's sentence. Blue Spy probably knew Blue Scout was actually the Red Spy in disguise, because he said "No Offense." after mocking the Blue Spy. Real Scout would stand behind his words, also Spies are respectful against other Spies.
dude I've tried the third one straight for like half an hour and it just slips off of my thumb, idk what to do 😔 edit: i forgor to say that i also have a metal balisong and it's HARD
So, been practicing with a real balisong and the combo will cut your fingers this way, however, upon experimentation you can start with a thumb rollover and with a twist of the handle go into a twist and then kind of go into a close from there with a few extra movements. 😊
Oh my god thank you, the Basic Twirl was so confusing for me but I kept rewatching it and eventually I got it down in like 5 minutes its insane how easy this is.
Combo, the very last movement will cut the finger it is rebounding from blade side. Rest of the individual movements are beautiful and very well explained.
Doesnt the combo between twirl and rollover make my finger end up in the way of a blade at the end? Hard to see it on your vid but i end up with blade hitting me at the end of thumb rollover
@@Paradox2431 spy is a class in tf2 that can disguise as someone in the other team. Spy's teammates will see him wearing a mask with his normal outfit but the other tea will see him like their teammate. So thats a meme in tf2 community
I have trouble doing thumb rollover because I can’t really catch it or fling it around my thumb half the time it just goes flying but the other ones are really easy for me Tysm for the tips!!!!
these are awesome, i still can't get the hang of the thumb rollover lol. i think it's important to mention that you can't do that particular combo with a real balisong, because if you're not holding the safe side, the twirl cuts you, but if you're not holding the sharp side, the thumb rollover cuts you, so you'd have to switch handles before that point
I don't think I'd ever use a real butterfly knife to do these tricks, but I had no idea something like the balisong existed for people to practice on. Honestly tempted just to get one to have something to fidget with and do a few cool twirls.
the balisong is the original name for a butterfly knife. the one used in the video is a balisong trainer. i've got one and i love it! highly recommend getting one for yourself!
I thinks its easier to understand when you break down the motions and explain it step by step instead of slowing down the trick you just did. Makse it really easy for a lot of people.
Honestly I followed all the steps, and the combo is where you'd slice your finger off if it was a real blade. I learned all steps you taught but couldn't get the combo and realized it's just completely for show
