The green vegetable you spoke about English name is Ridge Gourd.! The peel and the skin of it is usually discarded but learnt something new when you said a chutney of it is good for hot flushes in menopausal women. Thanks for the video and info Ma'am. 🤔

Mash bitter gourd/karela or zucchini/ghiya tori and sprinkle some sesame seeds/till on that. This is what I understood from this video. And of course some spices will make this chutney taste better.
The chutny we make GSB konkani style is called "Ghosale (Ridge gourd) sheera (peels) chutny. We first fry black pepper corns abt 1-1.5tsp in ghee along with jeera and skin peels , thn add half cup of fresh coconut along with tamarind and fried items, salt and lil jaggery, grind to smooth paste. It tastes awesome. We have it atleast once s week, even kids love this chutny. Had heard my grand ma saying, this I d good for ladies... Never knew the background. Thanks for such wonderful info.
Thank you so much for these dietary tips. I've been making this ridge gourd peels chutney whenever I prepare that bhaji though I was unaware of the benefits.

The other reason why it is sometimes better to sleep in a different bed is husband thinks he is helping out by hugging me tight. I could literally feel the heat of another body being transferred into my body and it makes my hot flashes even worse. The feeling that heat is trapped is something that can't be explained . I need ample space between us for the air to flow in.
In Mauritius the gourd is called ‘pipangaille’ and our grandmothers made chutneys with its boiled peels with fried salted fish flakes. I do eat whenever there is a season. Banana chips is also loved by Mauritians.
Nice informative mam And yes it's called as ridge guard I would like to know whether sabja Can we add in water for drinking during this summer, what are the benefits of it? Thank you for all your videos

Ma'am that is Ridge gourd vegetable. In Kannada it's called Heerekai. It's very popular in South & Maharashtra. During school & college days this vegetable will definately be cooked on any " one day" during Periods as its low in calories & high in fiber.
This is a popular vegetable in bengal as well.. called "jheenge". We have it as a dry sabzi with posto (poppy seeds or khus khus paste) and potatoes or in fish curry (maachher jhol) with potatoes
Ma'am.. u r explaining everything in detail n everything is soo clear. thanq so much ma'am. i'm still not into perimenopause or menopause stage but i'm going to follow ur advices for sure wen i get to that stage.
Thanks for tips . My concern is the omega 6 (oil) sources for chutney or chips. Can you add on that please any time you mention deep fried foods. We South Indians prefer banana chips fried in coconut oil only . Not easy to find in stores. I find Palm , cotton seed or sunflower seed oils is so dangerous for lipid profile.
Coconut oil is now sold in supermarkets here in Hyderabad- cold pressed and normal oil, that are edible oils not the ones for external uses. Where I live, after COVID several shops have set up cold oil pressing machines and sell the oil too. Both coconut and sesame oil are sold there. Pls look out for such outlets in your area
Thank you ma'am.. I'm 35 yrs old with pcos and very low amh levels.. I have started having hot flushes and my doctor feels I might be reaching pre menopause earlier than normal.. your video is gonna help me deal with this.. thank you again..
Behen pranayam karna start Karo.. yoga , atleast Surya namaskar daily , it will work also. Or agar hot flushes hain to abhi kapalbhati mat karna sirf halka anulom vilom se start Karo
Thanks a ton Maam🙂.......i felt as if you are talking me in real. You did read my comments both the time. Really appreciate your effort in making my life easier. God bless you Maam🤗
No one really talks about Foods that will help Terrible Perimenopause Symptoms🤢 so a Book about Entire Perimenopause to Postmenopause Journey Support Book is soo needed🙏🙋♀️
This Vegetable is called Peerkangai by Tamilians , usually it very popular in making dishes like kootu ( a combination of Vegetable and dhaal and then tadka) , we also make thuvaiyal (chutney) with its peeled skin.
If you can ask your mother for the chutney using ridge gourd (I think that is the name this vegetable is called) skin shavings it will be really helpful
In karnataka we make ridge guard skin chutney. Clean n peel the skin, fry it in a tsp of oil, roast red chilli, tsp of urad dal , tsp of till, tsp of dry coconut, salt n tamarind. Grind all ingredients. You get aromatic chutney ready. Not sure if this has the benifits that has been told here.
Ohhh my God ..😮 Tumhii je je symptoms ata sangitle tht i suffer frm last one n half year . And last four five month tho so much i suffer 😔im really thankful to u mam❤definitely i wl follow this 🙏🙏
Rujuta, please, also share the recipe videos of your version of Nariyal Barfi and also the recipe of the chutney.... and please tell the name of the vegetable known in hindi... Thanks for sharing this knowledge with us 🙏 🙌 ❤️ 😊
Ofcourse , that what I'm doing as all seeds and nuts contain something called phytates or phytic acids which inhibitors nutrients so do that or u can soak in a bulk then sun dry them
Hello Rujuta. Thank you so much for this video. I have been wanting to know what to do. What you said about these symptoms and our reactions to the situation are ABSOLUTELY TRUE. I have a few doubts. 1. We are in Kerala where coconut (raw) is used on a daily basis for cooking. Medium of cooking is coconut oil. Is it then necessary to use kopra (dry coconut) as barfi? Or can we have raw coconut in sabzi or with sugar? 2. The vegetable is called dhari wali turai/ ridge gourd. We make chutney of the dhari. But til is not added. Can I have til ladoo instead?
I am 30 year old unmarried, I started to get this hot flushes from past 5 months when near to my period , all the symptoms you said I m having also I have insomnia
Rujuta I love your knowledge. I really appreciate if you can put the name of vegetables you say in Marathi in English or Hindi or screen. As when you speak it's fine taking the name in Marathi otherwise it will obstruct your flow of thoughts.
Thank you. I hope you can make some videos on what to eat for autoimmune condition too. Your videos on improving gut health is very helpful 👍. I request you because some of the Indian foods can not only improve n reverse these autoimmune conditions sometimes.
