Dr Lee, it is amazing how, if we are in touch with God, and listen to Him, we can become open to the needs of others. I liked all three stories but Story 3. impacted me so much. There have been times I have found myself unfairly judging without knowing a person. I once was a Department Manager in which part of our workers were seasonal. We had a big man sent up by HR to fill a position. Most of his coworkers stayed away from him because most were women. He didn't have issues but kept to himself. He seemed to catch on to things quickly but most coworkers still stayed away. I regularly counseled him to help him improve and cross-train. He didn't open up to what was going on with him. Only after discussing with HR that I discovered he had served time for Second Degree murder as a teenager. He had a hard life growing up but after being patrolled, he straightened out his life and was a very willing worker. His coworkers never became aware of his past. He continued for three seasons working our job plus another. His coworkers, with only a little urging began to include him. He would have been easy to write off, maybe work one season, maybe quit early on. But by my listening to God and being open I believed helped him. It definitely made me become a better Manager. Thank you so much for sharing what are definitely traumatic experiences at the time. As I have learned, sometimes the best lessons come from those experiences. I love how you helped with "Slippery Snake" your patience and strong righteous principles make you a very honorable and God-serving man. You don't have to sacrifice humor or smarts to serve, you learned a lot of that through the pressure of trials (we all do) but when the rubber hits the road, your steering wheel is already in place. God put that girl in your care and I know after her secret was out, she was able to feel real love....what a gift.
Dr. Lee, I'm sorry you had to go through that. However, you know the saying, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." Look at where your life took you! Your own business, wonderful wife and family. You did good and we love you for being you.

Amazing how we both have similar stories to tell and both retired from a helping field. I am a retired Physical Therapist that grew up on a cattle ranch in SE Kansas. All 3 stories made me well up in tears remembering my own tough times that needed to be tread. How faith brought us both through those trying times and praising Him for His direction and outcome. Getting into the Twilight Zone arena here almost. Anyway thank you for the reminder especially just before Christmas.
I pray these days that God will help me stay out of His way, and keep me from screwing things up as I did in my younger times. It's funny how our prayers change as we age! Thanks for a lifetime of helping people, David, and Merry Christmas to you and your sweet family!!!

Next year it will be 14 years since my Matt died and this is the first Christmas since he passed that I have actually participated in Christmas. Sorry....I hope that I'm not sounding like gloom and doom. It's just hard and I understand you and your wife's pain. {{{{{HUGS}}}}} and prayers to you both.

Dear Dr. Lee, I wish more people were like you, you are so wise and so kind to people and to animals. You make this world a better place to live in. Thank you for the gifts, they are very precious stories. My dad passed away when I was 17 and one of my regrets in life is that I didn't ask him questions about his life. I don't know a lot about his life but I do know that he worked very hard to make sure his wife and children had a good life. What a wonderful gift Dr. Lee! I think most of us have had similar stories. My present husband is a Peace Officer, needless to say, their jobs are full of people who are down on their luck. It’s very easy for them to begin to think most people are bad, or haven’t done anything with their life. After meeting me, and learning about my history and childhood, he found that not all people are in situations because of their own doing. That some people are where they are in life, because someone else has judged them. As our relationship grew, he became a more empathetic and compassionate man and officer. He is more willing to listen to a person to find out why or how they got to the point of him having to meet them. I sincerely hope that you and Pat and all the family will have a wonderful holiday and an even better 2023! I guess we won’t see you until next year. So, Happy New Year to you also!

He approached me one day only to tell me your hubby's same story about how most of the kids he saw these days were just "sorry punks." He then said getting to know my boys gave him great hope for the future of mankind. Like your hubby, he was used to only seeing the bad side of society. I'm glad you set your man straight. Dr Lee, I enjoyed your stories, I can clearly see Gods hand in your life. You use your channel to touch a hundred thousand + people, and share your Love for the Lord. This channel and your life has touched and even changed people's lives. I have no idea what we would have done if you didn't ask people for a loaf of Bread analogy for us, it kept us out of financial ruin during Dales cancer battle and his death. I can't ever thank you enough for letting God work through you, and your channel. I know there will be a lot of people that have wonderful stories about you, long after your gone. You've done Gods work, and He will tell you , well done, my faithful servant. It's such an honor to know you, and follow you. I hold a special place in my heart for you.
